they asked him the question just saw it and he basically brushed the question off again..he said he didnt think legalizing marijuana was a good way to boost the economy or some shit.. lame.

I love this. You all are bitching that you want California to legalize pot, but to not tax it to help boost the economy. Then when Obama says he doesn't want to tax it to boost the economy people bitch about that, lol.

Which way do you all want it? First of all, Obama never claimed he was going to legalize it. And secondly, I can think of about ten things right now that are more important at the moment than looking at marijuana.

Do some of you actually feel this should be his top priority?

No JJ. We don't all think this should be his top priority.

BUT what we do expect is when the man asks for questions, and for us to vote on said questions with the promise that he would answer the top questions...is for the man to ACTUALLY DO IT!

What we don't expect is when an overwhelming number of questions that he asked for revolve around marijuana, is to have our questions laughed at, and to get blown off like our concerns don't matter. He got what he asked for, we did our part. He did not follow through on his part. We at least wanted a legitimate discussion. Instead, we were a joke, and apparently not worth the time for serious consideration.

He asked for the people to speak, and they did. And he laughed in our faces.

Why do stones have a problem getting the leaf 'legalized'? ...stone simply gives up the power or fails to recognize that they(stones) had it all along...You give another man power to make law over you, to allow or prohibit, to control, what do you expect?

The plant is here. You are here. Simple, your choice. Marijuana should not even be an issue of the government period. "Tax it, regulate", that's a cop out, more control, it does not need to be taxed or regulated, this will lead to people getting arrested for growing there own and not paying a tax... It's a plant, I'm a human being period. The sooner we get this through our brains and we feel this to the core the better. Will we always be at the feet of these people?...begging, "please oh please let us use the marijuana master, you can tax it and make more money on raping nature...really its a great idea...insert corporate cock there"...

Cannabis prohibition has shifted from a racist attitude from the previous era, to a question of society values and the fuel that powers it's cogs and gears in the coming of this 'information age'...THC does not work the way they want it to, like nicotine, caffeine, alcohol...much like psilocybin or lsd when added to the gears/cogs will produce a much different output...one can step back and see this, and realize how big of an impact it could have if they allowed these substances, let alone if the substances made people realize the government had no real control to begin with...this a bunk system looking out for itself..why would it allow for something to contradict and question its supreme? :) yeah

input ----> output just like a computer we model after ourselves.

Doesn't the THC synapse you all experience so frequently point to the whole 'thing' being garbage?

//remove the weapons out of the hands of these sociopathic imperialistic control freaks

//replace with goverment that knows that its there to build roads

I just wantched the video and I think he did answer the question. He said he didn't think it would strengthen the economy and create jobs.

As for him laughing, he was laughing that online Americans would find this question to be the most important. That's what he laughed about. People didn't think the most important questions should be soldiers dying in Iraq. Or families losing their homes. Or people losing their jobs.

To be honest I kinda find it funny that people would be more concerned about pot than about human lives and families losing their homes and being in the streets.

Doesn't say a whole lot about people's priorities now does it? I'm as much for legalization as the next person, but I don't find it more important than bringing the soldiers home to their families and coming up with a plan so people can keep their homes and keep their families safe.

Maybe I'm fucked up....

a peace keeping army should be handing out joints...if I was president I would promise to take time to understand other people and their culture..maybe even bring a few doobs along for the international meeting...maybe that's just me?

bring the troops home, end the imperialism, we need the troops to resist orders that are obviously bullshit.

What is with all this "Other things are more important"...couldn't he create a committee to do this? Is he not capable of handling multiple issues at one time? I mean really.

And suffice it to say...there are many lives and families homes being lost in the "Drug War". If the people voted that they felt MJ was important...then that is what they want. It is not something to be heckled. Sorry JJ but I am afraid I disagree with you here. He can tackle more than one issue at a time.

Yeah, I don't really know what people would want him to say... He is a politician, He has to have real solutions to the crisis that we are facing.

Not a valid question IMO!

I am also one that does not like the regulation and taxation argument. Herb should be legal. And you should be able to grow and share with no restriction or limitations.

Make no mistake, he wants to put you all in a box and use your families as leverage in order to make you turn in more of your weed associates.

Well that's absolutely not true. Why are you spreading this disinformation?

Obama is for decrim and lowering the priority of MJ arrests. That's what he said before the election and that's what he says now.

Obama Quote:
"I think we need to rethink and decriminalize our marijuana laws, but I'm not somebody who believes in legalization of marijuana."

We learned today that he doesn't believe in full blown federal legalization for economic reasons. I believe he's waiting to see how legalization works out in CA before moving to the next step.

spread that word and the herb

Obama is obviously a piece of shit that is no better than Harry Anslinger, or Bush.

I for one am tired of being thought of as a Criminal, just for medicating IN MY OWN FUCKING HOME, on something that is peaceful, healing, and a lot less dangerous than the majority of legal products.

Sure, there may be other issues in the world, but the least he can fucking do is show some support for us. All the non violent Cannabis "offenders" that have had their lives ruined.

I don't give a fuck if he's against taxing it, but he's an ignorant piece of shit if he does not support decriminalization. He himself used to smoke, and he "turned out fine" so he should see it's not the big deal that the government makes it out to be. He's just another fucking puppet.

Obama: Marijuana is not a good strategy to spur economy

Obama: Marijuana is not a good strategy to spur economy

Oh well there goes that theory eh?
From CCN.com said:
In a statement that's sure to disappoint many of those who submitted questions to President Obama's virtual town hall meeting, the president made clear Thursday he does not support legalizing marijuana as a means to spur economic growth.

"I have to say that there was one question that was voted on that ranked fairly high, and that was whether legalizing marijuana would improve the economy and job creation," Obama said off-handedly at the town hall. "I don't know what that says about the online audience."

"The answer is no, I do not think that is a good strategy to grow our economy," Obama said to laughter from the town hall participants.

Some of the most popular questions submitted to WhiteHouse.gov in several policy areas were pot-related. Among the top questions was one sent in by a user named "Green Machine":

"Will you consider decriminalizing the recreational/medical use of marijuana(hemp) so that the government can regulate it, tax it, put age limits on it, and create millions of new jobs and a multi-billion dollar industry right here in the U.S.?"

Attorney General Eric Holder said last week federal agents will seek criminal charges against marijuana users only when both state and U.S. laws are violated, a shift from the Bush administration's policy. The decision would effectively end raids on registered medical marijuana providers in the handful of states that have moved to legalize the drug's use for medicinal purposes.
DAMN ITTTT!!!

Keep drinking the kool-aid people, marijuana will never be legalized or de-criminalized under the administration of that arrogant, ignorant piece of shit called Obama.

The guy is 100% anti-marijuana, even mocking weed smokers in his answers, and comparing weed to fucking morphine in earlier statements, yet some not too bright potheads on here have his dick inserted so far in their mouths that they continue to make excuses for the lamester.

This is a weed forum, and Obama is against weed smokers, it's as simple as that. Maybe some future president will have no choice and they will legalize weed to generate income after Obama is done bankrupting the nation and driving the country down into the dumps, he's already doing a superb job at that. If weed ever becomes legal they will certainly tax it heavily, just like Obama's criminal 2200% tax hike recently on tobacco.

its not a hard tedious problem to fix like the war on terror or the economy. You legalize drugs and be done with it, and I don't know about you JJ, but I feel innocent non violent people in prison for using medicine is an important issue.
