i just saw some crazy shit in a different forum. all these kids were showing off their high end glass. most of the kids in the pictures had this weird thing that looked like a soldering iron that they were holding in the bowl to light there weed.. anyone seen this and know where to get one?

hakko is great...

gives such a clean taste, using a normal lighter after using one....is very noticeable...

I would say bic takes away like 45% of a buds taste compared to a hakko

Certain hakko soldering irons use a ceramic element to heat the tip. What you do is unscrew the shielding, slide off the tip and you now have a ceramic lighter to chief with. You can either hold the tip just above the bud for a vape effect. Or just lightly graze the top of your bowl and instantly a perfect cherry.

why you should to

1. NO MORE BREATHING IN DIRTY BUTANE. If you grow your own chron, then why fuck up that wonderful flavor with butane.
2. I find it conserves bud and I can stretch my stash more.
3. Way easier to corner a bowl with a hot little rod than a flame.

Q. Will this work with any soldering iron?

A: NO, only with soldering iron that use a ceramic element.

The tip gets hot enough To instantly ignite the bud once contact is made. works good for bubble hash and hash oil.

i got the 25 watt hakko and i love it its great. After using it i find my self only wanting to some with that and nothing else no more lighters for me unless theres not outlet lol.

my good friend has a hakko 454 that i use very often, and it is by far the best way to burn.

Count another vote for this new lighting method. Taste is definitely a noticebable improvement, and I usually use Lava brand butane in refillable lighters. I would gag trying to finish off a bowl's ashes with lighters, so I'd blow them out, but not anymore.

Picked up the $30 Hakko from Frys couple days ago... Really like it so far...

I payed little attention to threads involving hakko's and went out and bought a cheap soldering iron expecting the same results. I got a 25w iron with a wire heating element, DO NOT buy one. If your gonna buy one get the real deal with the ceramic heating element, because the wire elements aren't worth spending money on.

It's a cool contraption but I just think It's another gadget. Why reinvent the wheel. I don't smoke weed anymore but when I did I don't think I ever tasted lighter fluid or butane when lighting a bowl. Altho I can see why people would want to use something like this with there primo-homegrown, or for special occasions. I just think the practicallity and convience of a lighter is all anybody needs. But to each his own. Just like somebody said some people like hybrids that get 40 miles a gallon, but I drive a 1960 Cadillac Deville that only gets 10 miles a gallon.. And the reason is I like the car. I guess if you like this ceramic lighter thing then your entitled to use whatever you want more power to you.
