COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio man has pleaded guilty to running what federal authorities have called a $100 million drug ring.

Forty-year-old Donald Dailey faces a sentence of life in prison.

Authorities say FBI and IRS agents raided his Pataskala home last year and found about $3.2 million in the walls of his house and more than a ton of marijuana inside a trailer in the driveway.

Dailey was indicted along with 14 other people and accused of masterminding a large-scale, drug-smuggling operation that transported marijuana to Ohio in recreational vehicles.

Appearing in federal court in Columbus, Dailey on Tuesday pleaded guilty to several charges, including operating a continuing criminal enterprise.

A sentencing date has not been set.

I hope we can get the transcripts from the trial. I'd love to know how they got caught.

I bet you a trailer full of weed (or a 100 million dollars, whichever the government would determine was more valuable) that it was a low level employee popped on a minor offense who rolled on the boss. But yea, I'd be curious to hear as well.

Hes basically screwed.. But thes no way he will get life. I bet he plead guilty and gets 15 years. That " operating a continueing crimminal enterprise" charge packs 15 years by itself. I bet he gets about that 15 years or so. Also they found that 3 million... Thats what sucks the worst. 15 years is worth 3.2 million. If you figure in 15 years of work you will never make close to that. But freedom is non-replaceable..

Donald Dailey Jr., 40, as expected pleaded guilty to five criminal and four forfeiture counts during a hearing Tuesday afternoon in U.S. District Court in Columbus, said Special Agent Craig Casserly of the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigations Division.

One of those charges was continuing a criminal enterprise, also known as the federal kingpin statute, and carries a minimum mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.
He's scheduled to be sentenced within the next two months...

Kind of funny how the above article states he had 4.2 mil in cash, and the OP's article stated he had 3.2 mil. LOL... not necessarily a small difference...

This case should illustrate why it's important to keep your shit spread out seperately. Otherwise you end up being a nice present for the fucking oinkers, you, your money, and your weed all in one convenient location.

well for them to start cutting into the walls, the warrant would need to specifically state that. So who would know he stashed money in his wall?

No way that's all his money. He's probably gotta couple mil here, couple there, etc..

To have your operation AND all your cash in the same location? I don't think a guy who maneuvers his way to the top of the illicit food chain would be that dumb.
