How to Garden By The Moon

W

WhoMan

Oh, you are probably right with 3 oz the first guess Who Man! I just am hoping for big results, as I am an optimist most of the time!

My plan for blooming is gonna be 3 400s...I will put a MH bulb in the middle 400 and two HPS bulbs on either side. I hope I don't have to run the AC, but probably will....LOL.

Now this is all for 2 plants...Hahaha. They will probably grow out the windows and doors if I am lucky...lol

[LolaGal, unsuspecting, falls asleep in grow room only to wake to the horrors of Monster Plants Gone Awry! Aaaahhh...they are coming for me... But Lola prevails with her scissors and rolling papers tucked in her hatband.]

Guess I'm gonna have to quit daydreaming and go drill holes in plastic pots...Save me!
You make me laugh LolaGal, and it is always good to be optimistic, i seen your request for breeder pack pics in another post in here and i just could not resist. Hey i am doing a grow with 400s in the grow diary sec you should come check it out id love to have you. Its in the diary sec.WM

Interesting, my gut feelings would be to plant seeds 7-10 days before a full moon, any of your dates correspond with this?
Full Moon is on the 10th of March.

Use dates given on March 5th through 6th! Close enough?

Moon in Cancer, fruitful sign and Moon in 2nd quarter then. Come back next month if wanting different days! Moon will be full again in April too..lol

Howdy Moon Cultists!

Get to planting for your spring crops! Moon in Cancer, 2nd quarter!

I've transplanted all the little babies this morning into 6 inch pots. Some are not babies anymore!

The Ice Cool I transplanted in Taurus is kicking butt and taking names!

So far all 3 of the NLHaze are hanging in there, but are definitely runts! This is a good sign! Maybe this time I will get 3 girls instead of 3 boys!

I'm not doing any more cloning except in the 3rd quarter, which is great for rooting. The first quarter clones still looking good, but no roots yet! Whereas the 3rd quarter clones are big fat rascals with tons of roots. The first transplanted clones are about three times thier original clone size. Wow!

Well it is time to go back to work and transplant the rest of the 3rd quarter clones into 6 inch pots as well.... Almost forgot, gotta put some NorCal Daddy's Girl down in the dirt today too! Thank you Canna Clause!

It's a good day to transplant and plant! OK for cloning, but I'd wait a while on that cloning till 3rd quarter gets here again! Tomorrow great too! Have fun!

 Thanks for coming by Ya'll

3rd not so good CapnGimp! Today was good day for planting.

I put almost all the clones to bed today, repotted all the spring crop. Whew, I'm glad I ran out of dirt. Only 2 more clones to go and I will be done. Also dropped some of the NCDG strain into the dirt.

I will be glad when spring gets here and I can clean out some of these babies, put em outside where they belong!

See ya'll later on!

Saturday Moon in Cancer, 2nd quarter...Good planting day!

Hey Ya'll! Good news!

I popped the top on my White Rhino Mega Clone Box, and I gots me some Roots! Yippie. Let's see cut them on the 24th in 1st quarter of Moon, so that is 9 days. Clones were all less than 2 inches when taken.

Now this makes no sense! My Cali Orange clones should have rooted first...Hmmm. wonder why the Rhinos beat them this time?

Look out backwoods...here come Rhinos.....

Lola :D I was gonna plant on StPaddy's day, but if I'm hearin you right (and I think I am) you are sayin that for primo germ rates, it's March 5-6 or wait till April?

Another question, if I germ in papertowels, then transplant to soil in 2-4 days, does that throw anything off? Should I be germing 2-4 days before optimum dates? Thanks, and I have lotsa readin to do, but the proxy is CREEPING :D

Plants don't like paper towels! I just put them in the dirt the first time. They will be fine.

Best dates to germ coming up are:
March 13th, Moon enters Scorpio, fruitful sign, at 8:22 PM EST. Moon is in the 3rd quarter, good for rooting! Moon exits Scorpio at 5:21 AM EST, Monday March 16th.

So Saturday the 14th, Sunday 15th are my fave times to start new plants and clones! Moon in fruitful sign and in 3rd Quarter!!!! Clones will root like mad started on these dates!

I doubt I will start anything else...heehee, unless ole Canna Clause comes by with a new strain! I do have some Jacky White and Mazaar-I-Shariff beans stashed back for hard times.....

Currently growing:
White Widow
WhiteBerry x PPP
NorCal Daddy's Girl
NL Haze
Ice Cool
Super Silver Haze
California Orange Bud
White Rhino

My seed like papertowels the best, lol. I don't have a heat mat to put a starter tray on, and the baseboard is an in exact science. I get the best germ rates this way, but hell, I'm starting so many, I'll drop some right in cups. Everything gets wet Sat AM Mar. 14. Hopefully my ssh's will have grown back a lil by then so I can take cuts. I'm prrty sure that I have 2 SSH cuts that will do OK for me @ 40 deg (mid Oct).

Gonna start MrN Shit, and my own (mrn) g/sk and devil f2's. Prolly ~20 of each, so I'll do 20 total right in cups. :D

What are we lookin like as far as translpanting (re-potting) or changing the light schedule over the next few days? I did a bunch of both today, but I have more to do starting in ~3 days.
Thanks, LolaGal :)

barletta,

i've never tried germing in papertowels, but I did an experiment with a younger brother a couple of years back with some regular old cooking beans. Placed a couple in a cup that had a moistened cottonball in it, and they germed fast!

I'm a bit too scared to germ seeds that I paid for that way or in paper towels, though.

Lol, I feel the same way bout putting the seeds I paid for right into the dirt :D Just habit, I guess. I'ma start 5 of the Shits that way (and SWEAR I won't go fishin if they don't pop up in a week), and another 15 of the other seeds. Usually I get 90%+ germ in 2 days, and 90%+ of those that germ grow to healthy seedlings after I put em in dirt.

I have put em in dirt and had em come up, but space will be limited. I can sprout 40 at a time in a papertowel, and the ones that are strongest get planted. I have some in dirt now that I soaked overnight and planted. ~3 days down, and 1 of 20 popped up so far. It was a mix of old and fresh seed, so I'm not too concerned.

A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

Howdy Ya'll.

:woohoo:Got my new lights today! What a nice surprise they were. Sun System 6 400 watt HPS/MH ballasts...nice. $50 each. I am grinning from ear to ear!

Reflector news was pretty good as well. Got a Lumen Max Sun Systems reflector, socket, cords for $20. That was a great deal ya'll! The second reflector was a one piece Lumen Max 2. It will work OK, it is small, but will work fine for $20. It would be great in a cabinet or under a shelf.

All in all a great bunch of gear for $140 total. Now I can have that little bloom area I've always wanted.

Got my wheels back from the shop, so very pleasant day today. Had a nice surprise and got some ferts, SuperThrive, and lots of great gardening supplies to add to my arsenal of weapons!

All in all I'd say today was the Best Day of 2009 so far, hands down!

hey! :) I'm planting sowing etc. depending on moon (new moon, full moon etc.) I'm willing to learn new things so planting by sign in which the moon is in is very interesting to me. I would like to know how would you know in which sign the moon is in if you have nothing but nature around you. No computer etc?

Heehee, I'd RUN back to civilization and worry about planting later..lol.

All you need is an accurate clock and a copy of Llewellyn's Moon Sign Book, take them with you to the wilderness with you so you know date, time and have book to look up when is best to Moon Garden. It also has the best hunting and fishing dates and times so you can eat in the wilderness... :D

HELP ME!: I have a 400 watt problem. What do ya'll think is wrong?

Turned on 400 watt this AM. Bulb glows, but does not light. Changed to new bulb. Same thing.

So I changed cords and light fixtures and used a 3rd new 400 watt bulb. Same thing. Bulb glows, but does not light. Has a lot of strobe thingy going like it's trying to fire bulb, but can't.

Gotta be the new ballast I got in December huh? Opinions sought.

Thanks, I think it will be a good deal, haven't tested everything yet.

Congrats on the younguns. I have 2 new babies tonight as well. NorCal Daddy's Girl is beginning to pop. Guess I'm gonna rip me up a new grow room and bloom room in the morning, test out this equipment.
