Who is not happy with LED the grow experiments?

Not at first.
The first crop was spindly. Using 300 superbright, 10mm. Leds in an array. of 3:1 Red:Blue
Had them in soil .
Started some clones outdoors in the same soil but with tropical sun.
They were just as spindly! WTF?!


Aha! It was not lack of light!
Worth knowing.

Then I found Whiskey Tango's led grows and realized I was on the right track but would have to re-think the whole thing.
Big lesson? LED growing is different!

So, back to the drawing board and a LOT more reading.

4 generations of clones later, with a little help from e-friends,
I'm tickled to say that LEDs can and do produce fat, dense, (can't squeeze 'em) colas.
IF You pay attention to their needs.

I now use one 5 gallon DWC (airstone only), per plant.
Dyna-grow n Dynabloom nutes at around 800 ppm and PH from 5.2 to 5.8.

Some day, forum willing, I'll be able to post pics.
Then I'll open up shop and start a thread, ya.

I haven't seen any LED grows that are worth the money and effort. It's great research just needs more work. imo

Ah dunno about exact.
Hmmm, I can tell you what works?

653 nm Red is center, but 660 nm. works quite well for photosynthesis and phytochrome conversion.
Plants will use 625 nm. as well, just not as efficiently.

435 - 470 nm. royal blue through blue will control internode length and flowering.

Did exactly what KNNA proposed a few posts back.
Did some research, built some lights, grew some plants.

i just got a UFO 90wt today. i'll post results. i'm looking for a little extra to help in the mother room. i know, i know, there is more "red" than blue but i'm going to see if it helps at all and if i find it's better for flowering i might move one of my t5 and use the ufo for flowering...

did you get them straight from China? I see about 20 companies all selling the exact same light. Are they all reselling the same light from some mystery factory or do they all create grow lights that look the same despite having different manufacturers ?

OK...gotta chime in. Has anyone seen my LED grows? Cause other than a commercial level, I hit some good numbers, and DANK herb. If I wasnt trying to get the weight I am, I would have never went back to HID. I spent 2-3 years working with LEDs as well as Weezard.
I think either one of us will say, I am impressed with what we have gotten. 5-10 years from now, NO ONE will be growing with HIDs anymore....get on the wagon, or fall off.

This is using 2 units, total of 500 watts.

Romulan, 4 weeks into flower. Good growth, penetration seems comparable to the HPS setup, which has the same clones.

So far so good.....

These are straight from HID HUT in FL. Not the china models. I paid 500 each for these. Never used em once. Still in the box.

Hid hut seems to be full of shit. Tried to get a refund from them and they dont answer my emails. All the reviews on their website are phony, tried posting a real review and it got deleted, now it wont let me comment. HID HUT= scammers

But, you might be allowed to create an album in your IC and then copy and paste from there.
Worth a try.

BHT- I respect you as a grower maing, and although they are not at 100% yet, 5-10 years fo sho. Check out some of these from my experiments last year. All under 5 Procyon 100W in a 2x8 closet. Yielded bout a half elbow. Not greatest yield, but NO heat, only 500w draw in entire room...If your growing for self, or you and a few friends, they are great. Not for bigger ops......yet. I have gotten some of the most resinous plants you have ever seen with LEDs too...Take a look at my Episode 3 log on c dot...the jawdrop strain I made then under those LEDs was PHENOMINAL. Too bad I lost it before I could see it under my 6k HPS now....lol
