Che: I made the soil my self. I mixed in a bunch of various fox farm Peace of Mind ferts and some of this mushroom compost that I found nearby. (on that note, make sure your mushroom compost has not been steamed prior to sale).

Preparing soil in advance is the way to go. (if you grow in soil). The results are way better than trying to add bottled ferts during growth.

Great pics! keep up your good work. So u like the rapid rooters? A friend of mine said she hated them she uses a homemade aerocloner and has good results. Also do u use any addatives to help root ur clones??

79: I just dip em in Clonex. This is my best method. I love the RRs I just got 200 of em so I am a cloning mofo right now. I need to get the Chem to root for real. That is my main goal right now. Getting a dozen Chem cuts rooted.

I pulled out the Casey jones tonight to give her a good once over and a little haircut. Here's a shot.... 28 daze.

I wish I could get big pics to fit into the normal frame so you guys dont have to side scroll.

I woke up this morning and smelled spring in the air.I love this time of year. Most of you are probably freezing your balls off right now, but down here, the weather is starting to get nice. Better enjoy it before the full summer assault.

Please help!!!

Please help!!!

I am having a horrible time rooting Chem4. IDK what it is about this particular cut, but she wilts within hours of snipping. I am making a plea to anybody who can help me rectify this and get this Chem garden blooming. See, I refuse to bloom this plant til I have at least 1 rooted cutting.(20 would be better though).

Has anybody had similar issues????:wallbash:

I have a couple suggestions for you.

Try a couple things, for one, if you have rooting hormone try painting it on the clones a couple days before you cut.
On some clones, instead of cutting just place a wet paper towel loosely around the stem, to promote roots to start. This is called layering.

On a few others, just place them in plain water, in clean sterile cups. Place these cups in indirect sunlight for a few weeks, changing the water every few days.

A few others, you can try cutting and placing in soaked peat pellets, and make sure to keep these warm and water often.

These three techniques should help you find something that works for you.

Thanks Che. I have tried soaking them in plain tap water for like a week to soften the stems (per DJ Short). Didnt work. My main method is straight cutting dipped imediately dip in clonex, trim the cut as desired and then make the final(rooting zone) cut. Which goes directly into a Rapid Rooter. My temps stay right around 77-80 degrees and the humidity stays up there for the first few days then slowly drops to around 70.

This method has kicked ass for me since I first tried it. Only the sickliest of cutting usually die. Most make it and fast.

I tried a few differently tonight. I snipped almost all of the leaf material off except the very top two leaves. I am thinking they need alot less cells to keep alive. Less leaf= less stuff to try and keep up. IDK if this is going to work, but if my memroy serves me right, the one cut that I did get to root was a smaller one.

I really want to get into DWC. I am hearing that it is the best way to go for "noob hydro" guys. If you have any knowledge or insight that you can share with me, please do so. I know there is a way to just buy some buckets (18) and a few items. Right?? I really wanna start this project and I think wqith the help of my peeps, I can pull off a successful crop the first time. I need minimal investment since my pockets aint lookin so hot ATM. Thanks in advance for getting me headed in the right direction.

I suggest water and a bubble stone...When you tried the plain water for a week did they wilt at all???

I have found this is the easiest way...Cut em, Dip em and leave em in bubbling, Ph'd, cool water until they root...May take longer than your usual method, but success rate is just about 100% where I stand...
For the record, I have never tried to root Chem 4 this way...But she's been cloned before (obviously), so it cannot be magic. =)

I wish you the best Swamp...

Well Swamp the differences in climate are pretty obvious after seeing that! my Casey is the same age and she's been in flower for less than a week.
all the Casey got me excited so i blew my last taste of it and sure enough, it still tasted like green life savers and the high is verry nice too! I havent cloned the chem, I unsuccesfully tried the chem 4 but I've had a hella time this winter keeping a constant environment suitable to success with roots due to the temp extremes and lack of space. I think the strength of the rooting hormones is having a negative effect with the less than perfect conditions.
I'm getting sick of buying those big bags of sponges all the time so i'm going to try a round without any hormone in pure coco and light warrior side by side in plug trays. I'll use up my sponges too and see how they all fair amonsgt the coco and LW. BTW, Two of those F13x that had dense tips and the seet smell of DSD put out a few big pollen sacks so I ripped them down yesterday, give yours a good lookover, and axe any bad ones asap! I have to say the F13x(x=Willie) smells incredible! if the F13 head is in the mix, F13willie is gonna be tasty and fun. Willie alone was such a boring buzz in the long run. SHiz we are getting dumped on, got 3" in the last 2 hours.

just found your thread...subscribed.......

Have you tried rooting in soil burying 2/3 of stem after a solid dip in olivias or clonex. Sometimes going back to basics will do it... anyways beutiful bud and best of luck....

Swamp - Tonight, or tomorrow depending on how stoned I get I'm going to post a guide to how I did my current hydro system in the thread in my signature. Its a flood and drain and it was dirt cheap to set up, and best of all it is fairly bulletproof. Very easy, much easier than soil I think. Check it out. Even easier than DWC in my opinion.

Yeah Swamp, definately do up that bubble cloner again...slight droop for a few hours, but generally if they make it through 24-36 hours, they will root...May not be as quick as you are used to but success rates are mega high...Also, once they are callused you can take a few and put them in yer medium and let them dry out pretty good, then they'll send out roots in search of some h20, may not be as high a %, but could be faster...
