A couple questions just to get this straight in my own mind:

1) On page 4 where you pollinated the female flowers and tagged the branches, you were basically pollinating and tagging flowers and branches that were probably a couple weeks into 12/12, right? By doing this no matter how much bigger those flowers get(if they even keep flowering?), does it produce more seeds as new pistils keep forming or only seeds where you pollinated initially? I'm trying to understand what the plant does after you pollinate in terms of future seed production or new bud growth.

2) If you had waited a couple weeks longer to pollinate would you have just had more pistils and bud sites to pollinate and get more seeds or, is there a reason not to wait longer than that?

3) Do other flower sites on those same branches pop up so that you end up getting seedless buds from them or once you pollinate is that it, that's about the total amount of flowers you will get from the plant or that in that case if you want to have some seedless bud to smoke you just don't pollinate all of the flower sites at that time?

4) Where can I learn about the Lucas method of feeding?

5) Finally, are your Speed Queen plants pollinated- they don't really look like it. But what would you have to do to produce huge seeded buds like that, just let the male/female flower together the full cycle?

I believe on that run I pollinated at the end of week 2. If I waited longer for more pistils to form then YES......I would get more seeds as there would be more pistils to pollinate. Since I am only pollinating one or two branches of any given plant........Bud production is not effected on the rest of the plant. The pollinated buds don't develop as much as the others but.........I use the lower Popcorn buds that might get chucked or turned into hash anyway so there is no loss really. Only gain........the seeds.

I don't like to wait to much longer because I want there to be enough time for the seeds to develop fully. I run 8 week strains. I could cut off the top of the plant and let the seeds continue on but.........I run perpetual SOG and as soon as a table is harvested......there is another batch waiting to go in.

YES ! If I'm in the second or third week of 12/12 the plant is just beginning its stretch and fast growth period. I will usually get more usable bud from a pollinated branch then unusable bud. As the branch stretches and new sites form........those become un-pollinated buds. Remember........The whole point of "Targeted Pollination" is to pollinate a branch or two and harvest the rest of the plant without seed. Pollen is only viable for hours or days. so pollination will not continue to the rest of the bud sites.

I did not pollinate the Speed Queens and I don't pollinate every time I grow something. Just sometimes. If you wanted a huge cola full of seeds then you would need to have a male and a female in the same room with a small fan / airflow and just let them do their thing. You will get multiple hundreds this way. If your gonna do that.........You must isolate these from anything else you have going or EVERYTHING will be pollinated and will be unusable......except for yourself. You can still smoke the weed. It will just be LOADED with seed. Loaded !!

About #5- pollinating a full sized male and female(open pollination?)- is that possible to do in the same room with other plants if the two were enclosed in a tent with carbon filter, like a secret jardin or grow box, or would you expect even those to "leak" pollen onto other plants outside of the tent? Just curious, don't have an indoor tent and grow room yet but will and trying to learn what my limitations will be.

No Problem man. I understood perfectly.

If it was mine.........I would do that anywhere near your flowering plant you DO NOT want pollinated. I would almost guarantee that pollen would get out.

But consider this: If you don't have a grow going right now.........your a long ways away from pollinating anything. A long way.

Just keep on reading and soaking up the info but get yourself some seeds and get to growing. Its the only way you will REALLY learn.

Nice grow pirate. About the Lucas formula are you using it 0-8-16 ml per gallon form week 1 to 8 or are do you modify it? I have read the whole thread maybe I missed it but do you use any additives with the Lucas thanks?

Good question. I have not really explained my nutrient program in detail. So ya didn't miss it cause it ain't there.

I run the Lucas just as he explains it.
5/10 for low light (under 400 watts for me)
8/16 for HID (over 400 watts for me)

Mothers
I run my mothers that are in coco at 8/16 ratio under 1000 watts of light and 1000 PPMs with a PH of 6.0. Flood 1 time per day. Flush every ten to 14 days. The only additive these get is Cannazyme coco conditioner which works well at keeping the coco fresh.

Clones
Plain water. No ph adjustment. No additives. no nothing. Plain water and light. After 14 days they go to Pre-Flower.

Pre-Flower
Pre-Flowers are in aeroponics at 8/16 under 400 watts and 1000 PPM at a PH of 6.0. No Additives.

Bloom Room
Each 3 x 6 Aeroponic bloom table gets 8/16 ratio at 1350 PPMs under 1800 watts of light at a PH of 6.0. No Additives. I use the calculated topping off method. Even though a change out isn't required, I flush and redo my rez every 30 days for my own piece of mind and to wash away salt build up. I will do a Flush with GH Flora-Kleen during the last week of 12/12.

Seedlings
I kind of go with a my gut feeling on the seedlings and what they tell me they want. I will run the Lucas at 5/10 until they hit the HIDs. I will change the PPMs as I feel they need it. Starting around 250/300 ppms under Floros or lower wattage HIDs like a 250 and working up to around 5 or 600 ppms before I get them under larger HIDs. But I don't do a lot of seedlings as most of my growing is done with clones.

I use tap water at the moment. An RO system is on the list of wants ( a huge list) But Lucas says you can get away without an RO system if you have tap at 300 or below. I have 145 from my tap with a PH of 6.8. After I mix my solutions I am pretty damn close to my # of 6.0 and rarely need to add any PH adjusters.

Awsome thanks for breakin it down by the looks of your pictures and buds Lucas is working fine for you. I have read a lot of conflicting info on Lucas some folks love it others dont like it. Thanks for all the great details of your grow really helps other growers...

the Lucas formula for GH has no room for additives, people who dont like it usually run it and add things to the tank on top of the Micro and Bloom.

Just a note to wonderers.......Lucas does not condemn additives. He simply says "you don't need them and you can get the same results without them" "When all other environmental conditions are met".

Example: A mag deficiency can sometimes be fixed by raising your PH instead of adding epsom's or cal mag.

To be honest I cannot grasp why everyone isn't using this recipe. I noticed a HUGE difference within 24 hours of first trying it. At first I was afraid to screw up my crop......not having all the other crap I was sticking in there. Now...........I can't imagine any other way.

Micro / Bloom..............That's it. Done. The epitome of perfect health.Not a penny spent on all the elixirs designed to do nothing more than suck extra $$$$$ from the consumers pocket.

Yes I have tried a shit load of recipes and all that other crap that goes into em and got good results with some. But I get the same exact results or even better without them.

It contains no water and all the same minerals as GH. It is also automatically pH balancing.

The main fert is 1 part, the "ripening" additive is a 1-52-31 with 4 types of high grade phosphates and B1. I fucking LOVE the Bud Blaster.
