What's new

Calling ALL OGKush growers!

I'd say it's because of the roots having too much space at first, you see some growth in about 5 more days, they should already have some feet going through the soil....

When they have that much space at first they really won't grow that fast b/c they have all the water they seem to need, but once they have that wet/dry wet/dry period a couple times you should notice that they will just flow right through...

For now patience will be a virtue and their beauty should soon be more vigorous..

Hope I didn't confuse you, they just need that time to reach those roots down to the bottom of the pot and aroundand then they will have enough roots to drink up all the water you give them...

Plants don't really grow that fast when they have all the moisture they need readily availble ti the roots....

Just keep air-ating the top 1/4" of the pot/soil and they should get goin' soon...

Hope that helps

Good luck, and nice set up there bud, Wick650 is one to pay good attention to about those OG KUsh's and how they like to live and what not, he knows a lot about those OG's..... So I would consider his opinions and ideas as much as you can, peace and patience brother/sister...

Good to know man!

I've been trying to starve them of water so they get some good root growth. I understand im a newbie but thats the first thing I learned and had it emphasized on me.

Less water MORE OXYGEN.

:D

Although they're about due for a watering. Hopefully they blow up soon.

Thanks a lot everyone for the help. Lights go off in about an hour, so ill water them then and hopefully we see some good things in the next few days. :D

Peace!

Nice, thing wil start to Roll for ya soon, Although I wouldn't water before the lights go out, just IMHO, simply because if they aren't wilting or in serious need of water, then they will be better off without the water in their feet over Dark, I would Water once the lights come back on,:2cents:.....

Especially in Bloom you don't want to water before light out.... Just MHO...

Peace

vegging under 600 hps

vegging under 600 hps

i also veg under hortilux 600, lumatek ballast. at 1st i thought the veg was slower than my prior 430w. once i raised the lights, they took off! the 600 can be brutal on small plants when a little too close...

i am also running a 600w lumatek with hortilux bulb.

what height do you suggest raising?

the new growth seems VERY compact and TIGHT nodes..I was considering raising for a little more stretch.

:yoinks:

Naaahhhhh bro don't look for any stretch at all, as long as those babies are not feelin' the heat of the HPS they are all good... Beleive that!

IF they are REAL OG Kush, you will have all the stretch you want in the bloom stage, BE PATIENT, YA JUST GOT 'EM RIGHT, A FEW DAYS AGO?

I like the fact that you consider everyones ideas but on this one I have to dissagree, No offense Whodair, but the distance from the top of those cut looks fine, Be Patient, they will be established in a couple days or so.... And you will then see them grow like ya want them to.....

You want to keep those internodes as tight as you possibly can at this point, tight nodes is a good thing no matter what, unless you have other strains you are growing them with and you need to help a strain along to compete with the others.....

the taking off you experienced Whodair is most-likely due to unnecessary stretching, or that they established them selves and started growing normally.......

:2cents:

BTW HPS will already make their internodes be more spaced out than they would if they were under some MH......

If you can, get you an MH bulb, Solarmax make a 600 w conversion Bulb.....

And that is the Ideal way to go about your Veg, but, if you can only afford to use the HPS for now, then it will do the trick, but be patient, Good Luck////:joint::joint::joint:, smoke a few joints and make a little lovin' and that will get your mind off your little ones, lol, j/k:yoinks:

having proplems posting pics...look for faint circles of powdery mildew on leaves..

serenade spray works..as does neem...just make sure to go light on fresh clones...if thats what the faint white circles are..a fan will spread the mildew so watch carefully...some coops have p.mildew on there cuts so always seperate them from other clones..good luck

:1help:

after inspecting each and every girl, i noticed two of my girls each have a tiny little yellow/brown dot or so.

I dont think its "mildew" though, maybe something else?

I also noticed one of the leaves has a tiny "crack" in it, I think its from the leaves being so dry due to the low humidity?

Im also thinking its not my gauge that is broken and my humidity is actually what it says it is..

blah, going in circles........

Hey dude...just relax and listen to the guy ^^^^^...you just got the clones, give em a chance to get used to the HPS and their new environ...give em plain water, maybe with some LK if u have it...theyll be fine. The HPS prolly shocked em a bit, but theyll get used to it...besides all that, OG is a slow vegger, and she will STRETCH ALOT in 12/12, so be ready for it...I would LST her till she stops stretchin...you'll get a nice yeild from her that way...Just my humble .02...Peace

Much appreciated Zeus!

As of now my nodes are nice and tight.
I dont think I have bugs like I just recently though, but they do have some lighter green in the middle of the plant near the veins.

I'll try to take some Macro shots of what I think is stress. They defiently started growing though.

I'll brb :D

Thanks again

A friend of mine visited Cali a while back and brought over some seed. He said it was Kush. I told him NO it couldn't be because they are clone only. Nonetheless I grew 2 out and it was the very very best I ever had. One pull PERIOD. Could have been a Kushy strain. Unless you're sure you can get more - make sure to clone my friend. I didn't :-(

I will for sure take some clones, even if I have to take a couple and pick one mother. I dont really have anywhere to keep a mother while I'm flowering so I think im gonna build myself a big box and put the T5 setup in there, so I can veg some clones and/or mother while my current girls are flowering.. Sound like a good idea? :woohoo:

you really need to get that humidity up IMO if you want them to take off. also maybe the waterings should be more frequent if it's that dry in your room. drying the medium between waterings can be hit or miss. if you do it right the roots explode, but if you go too long w/o water and the roots dry out, you would see growth stall much like your having, even w/o the plants wilting. also not sure what that coloring is, hard to tell w/ the hps light.

maybe you could try topping off your pots with perlite/vermiculite to keep humidity up around your plants.? :2cents:

any way you could vent the light seperately and seal your space? a cheap bathroom fan on a timer could exhange the air throughout the day, temps would stay relatively the same and i'm thinking humidity would go up. later on in flower when you want the humidity to drop take the fan off a timer or fine tune it.

I dont "starve" them of watering until the roots will potentially dryup, I just wait until the soil is nice and dry. I'm pretty sure I got watering down pretty good but we shall see.

As far as humidity its up to 30% and honestly I think its more trouble to worry about it is to not. I just don't see how ones room without being sealed and with a humidifier can reach 40-60%

My gauge only reads 45% after a long shower with the fan off and steam EVERYWHERE. The gauge is literally covered in moisture but it still only reads 45%. Doesn't make sense to me.

I was considering putting a fresh TOP layer of FFOF in a few days with like 70% perlite for good drainage up top and increased humidity. Sounds like a good idea.

I would like to ventilate my light seperate and seal my place, but thats going to have to wait until after my first harvest. After my first harvest and i get a few more paychecks and save some money from not buying medicine and just smoking my own, i'll probably seal up the room nice and tight, put an A/C unit in there as well as some Co2.

For now, i'll just sit back and watch these girls grow. :yoinks: because they finally are! :woohoo:

Thanks again! :joint:
