can a moderator please make this thread sticky? So that any Washingtonians have an opportunity to view this thread and contact their reps and possibly make a difference

I hope this bill passes, i am not from the great state of washington, but i am always for decriminalization. I hope that in the future, my cannabis hatin state will change their views and decrim, and leagalize for medical use. Hopefully one day we will be able to bring together everyone, every where to sit down, smoke out, and be happy.
Stay safe and Stay green.

I wish man; believe it or not, Washington is pretty far behind in the movement. The law was/is defined loosely, every aspect of it is shaky but we're trying to make progress....I can't believe it's been 10 years since we voted to allow medical patients to use marijuana.

Oregon is the poster-state for how to do things right! Mass respect

So the last I heard was that the partner bill for decrim in the WA state senate went up before a judiciary panel on the 10th. I read the digest on the wa state gov't site, and it seems there's a whole lot of pro, not so much con. Does anyone have any newer info for us?

yah they had a hearing for it and it went well. one of the committee guys made a joke "My own experience shows that marijuana is[a gateway drug]. I used to grow my own dope and now I brew my own beer."

i think it will pass. i just don't get why it applies to 18+ people, why should minors be charged with a misdemeanor and adults not? or do those charges go away when they are 18?

Seattle pi has an article on the hearing
