just got back from the shop,
they have these Solar and Palau fans in a working display there,
and they are pretty quiet.
they have some interesting features too =)

it is pretty quiet that's for sure
1s 312 cfm enough to keep things cool???

awsome fan, very cheap, quiet and effective.
im cooling major wattage. with just a single 600 it should be a dream.

S&P TD-150 6" exhausting a 4x4x7 Sunhut with 36" DIY muffler pulling through a 4" Carbonaire filter & a 600W hps inside a SS2 hood. 2 speeds built in, no speed control necessary if set up right, plus the detachable fan body makes it easy to clean or service without un-doing the duct work. Quiet as a mouse.
My second vote would be for the new low rpm Voretx's. Got the 6" 275cfm version for exhausting my bathroom veg/clone area into my attic - a beautiful, quiet fan.
Heard nothing but good on the Elicents too.
The 2 Stanley blowers i have ain't half bad as a back-up or used as an intake, but i wouldn't want to run them 24 for a long time.

i cool 3-600's with a vortex 6" and it works wonderful... I love those fans. But if your going with 8" Ac hoods. You could always go with the can fan max.. Both these fans works wonders...

So all I've got are these fucking Dayton blowers that are pissing me off because you can't buy ACCESSORIES for the damned things (and they turn into total pussies the second I hook them up to actual DUCT, but that's another story).

I'm probably going to buy a Soler & Palau but I'm wondering how I mount it to a wall or ceiling? I want it high up to minimize bending. I may buy a silencer to fit it too (could DIY but the silencers aren't that expensive, and I'm starting to get tired of DIYing everything), so I'll need to mount that too.

The silencer could probably do with a bit of cord but I think the fan's going to need some hardware, unless it comes with mount points. Anyone got any advice?

You can measure a Daytons lifespan in decades tho lol

The expected life for an Elicent fan is 100,000 hours which equates to 11+ years running 24/0.

Elicents don't have that issue compared to other fans I've run. I've used Elicents and Vortex and for the most part stick with Elicents now. The Ferrari of fans as far as I'm concerned...especially considering they're made in Italy...LOL.

I have Value line 10 Inch 780 CFM Centrifugal In-line Fan $139.90 cooling 2 600. I had a 6" but it did not cool like I wanted. It's quit for a 10". I will eventually have my scrubber on it as well. I have it hooked up to a TMP-DNe switch. When the temp in the room gets to 80F it comes on and cools the room to 73. I like this temp switch.

i have several dayton blowers and a couple inline fans, i had been using the daytons for a long time as others mention they are bulletproof, but then i found a used 10" can fan for a good price, with a dimmer already set up for it, i went for it, it's a bit loud on full power but moves alot of air for the power it uses, that's one advantage to inlines, less electricity used. i then bought a 6" inline, a vortex, it uses around 1 amp and moves more air then the dayton blower, i think the daytons use around 3 amps. so for a bigger investment going in you gain a savings on electrical use.mtc,j
