justanotherbozo - thanks bro thats hella cool you point them my way cuz I was pointing cats to Lifeless and DrBud for a while for what can be done with CFL's now over at RIU I've been told I'm the best they've seen with CFL's lol which is cool cuz if I can keep getting better than what I'm doing now then I see no point in switching to a HID grow cuz then I'd need more room and more money for supplies and for what just to grow plants a little bit bigger?? forget that I think by the time I'm ready to stop using CFL's is when LED's will be taking over and be cheap enough ... Thanks again glad you like the thread you should check me out over at Roll It Up cuz I'm more active there since I'm able to upload my pics with less trouble and I have this grow and another thread there for my Maui Wowi x Tooty Fruity and I got Master Kush clones coming to me tomorrow!!!!

lol, your welcome man, and i point people at the good Doctor also.
it's just i like to point people in your direction 'cause you started
out like me, with a whole lot of desire and determination and almost
no knowledge and you took that and found a method you liked and
you made it work for you, no ifs ands or buts about it.

i think that deserves respect and i also think maybe that's a more powerful
example to the noob's than someone like the Doc who has grown for over
a quarter century.

also, while i agree wholeheartedly about CFL's, i couldn't pass up on those
Vapor Tight 150watt HPS lights and Quazi's excellent DIY to remote ballast
that exact light fixture, plus he has a DIY for making a cooltube for it so i
just couldn't pass it up, lol, i bought 2 for a future dresser conversion i plan
on building in the not too distant future.

you didnt answer my question, i asked your GPW for a full cab.
and you should never discount a HID... from what ive seen you average 160g from 250w hps, thouht it can reach nearer 250g if your good.

Hello again thundurkels. I have a question for you. I was wondering how coir work and where you can get it. I know there are other forums on this but I thought I would ask. I am about to start my next wave of plantlets as I got some genetics and I just found this new thread of yours, I followed your last one, and seeing the dif between the plants you are growing (coir vs soil) makes me want to try it. so I got a few questions. is it harder to use then soil, where can you get it (like maybe in garden centers or just grow shops), and could you point me toward any good sources of information on it?

As for Coco I am now using Black Gold Coco Blend, they now call it Black Gold Waterhold Cocoblend Potting Soil. It has such a nice texture to it and my roots are loving it I haven't got to finish a plant in it just yet but I'll know in about 5 weeks! So far it looks like the results are going to be just like the Bontanicare Ready Gro Moisture Control stuff I was using in that test and I don't see why it wouldn't cuz they are pretty much the same stuff but the BGCB is OMRI Listed which is a plus to me cuz I'm going to switch over to organic teas this summer...

As for light positioning I'm not too sure just yet, I get more height going horizontal but I've seen some damn good results with the verticle and my first few rounds were with my bulbs in Y splitters and they work well like that too but theres the whole height issue with that too..

Why thank you my friend, I feel I'm getting control of my grows down pretty well and since I got what I expected using DrBuds style of nute line up. I can tell it was cheap compared to Fox Farm and GH but it still produced good smoke but I can see already how much better my coco grow is density wise and smell and it's even turning color better. So I am taking what I learned from his grows as far as lighting and pot size ect but I can't wait to have my whole cab full of quality soil and nutes which I have been doing lately and haven't burnt anything and my ladies are happy :jump: After I dial in all my strains oops forgot I got my Querkle clone!!! and a bunch of Trainwreck x Silver Haze cuts that are rooting right now and the TWSH is so lovely! very nice daytime weed and damn near quadruples it's size when flowered so I'm sure I can get a budsicle out of it from 3" - 5" clones so stay tuned for those but yea after dialed I'm going to start using just Black Gold Coco Blend OMRI listed and compost tea's so I can be all organic I will post the recipe I'm going to use so if anyone wants to give it a try before me go for it but I got it from a Skunk Mag so here we go..

Veg Tea -
Gallon of distilled water
1tsp of unsulfered molasses 1-0-5
1tsp Alaska Fish Emulsion 5-1-1
1cup of worm castings
1tsp of Happy Frog or Peace of Mind All Purpose 5-5-5

Flower Tea -
Gallon of distilled water
1tsp of Happy Frog or Peace of Mind All Purpose 5-5-5
1tsp High Phosphorus Bat Guano 0-4-0
1/2 tsp dried kelp/seaweed

also my camera's batteries are dead so I can't take pics right now but today one of the soil ladies broke when flushing cuz I didn't plant her deep enough
:badday: she was at 7 1/2 weeks so it's not that bad but we all know the coco gals are gonna win anyway :joint:

This is where I started to fuck up!!! WHy didn't anybody stop me!!!! After looking back through this thread and my Coco vs Soil grow I should've just stuck with the coco and Flora Nova line up and I'd have 2 zips a week right now  Oh well I learned A LOT along the way and I am going with Coco and Flora Nova with the DrBud style for a little while till I stock up on bud. Then I want to use the small Air Pots and flower 16 plants all at once and I think I can get 10+ oz this way so we will see this summer :joint:

Yea I never got to finish nothing is right!! That's the shit that fucked me up I think.. It's not like Botanicare's Ready Gro Moisture Control Formula at all!!! However I have 11 plants left that are still in the Black Gold Coco Blend and I am back to using Flora Nova Grow and Bloom on them and it looks like they are going to preform like my coco girls did in this test so we'll see... But I am going to be switching to either Roots Organics Coco Coir mix or I'm just getting some bricks of coco and mixing it with perlite and that will be my medium really soon!! But right now I am back to using Kellogg Patio Plus soil which gave me great results using Fox Farm nutes but I'm using Flora Nova for the millionth time lol well I will be updating my Fluoro Frenzy thread with new pics in the next few days:joint:

hey you're a great grower right up there with the dr himself. i was wondering if you know what a phototron is and if so. how do you think sativas such as hawaiian snow and arjan's haze#1 would do with the dr.bud method of small containers/ebb flow watering style?

I know this is an old grow log and all, but since it's there... don't know if my math's off, but wouldn't it be easy to get a approx. GPW even though you don't fill it with plants all at once?

I'm thinking number of plants per square feet (16) times square feet (2,5) times average harvest (approx 5g, ok ok let's say 7g) = 16*2,5*7 = 280g / 334 W = 0,84 GPW

Obviously it won't be entirely accurate, but based on the info available it's as close as we get.
