so this is my new set up.
im running 2 1000w lights, both with the liquid lumens to water cool them.
running the canna line up for nutes.
and the ebb an grow bucket system.

just got the system set up and did a test run. humidity is at 54 and temp doesn't get higher then 76.
here are some pics

wow man! Cant wait to see this one thru.

How are you liking the water cooled so far???

I been waiting on someone to post a water cooled grow. Please tell us about the cooling system.

What size pump is circulating the water?

What size is your reservoir?

Do you have a chiller on your reservoir?

I've only seen pictures so I would like to hear first hand what you think about the quality of the product.

I will be watching!

sneak- sorry man. my old comp broke an lost all my photos

king-this is goin to be my first cycle with the water cooling system. in the trial runs it kicked ass. no heat at all, and i can put my hand right under the 1000W an i could keep it there for days ha

pandemic- i have a 1/4 horse power water chill to cool the water for the lights, and there is a 350g pump sending the water to them. the rez size i have for them right now is 40 but im changing out to a 60 i think.

YES!!! Been dying to see one of these in action!
May i ask what the whole system cost? (the lights, and cooler).
Have you made a decision one which strain is gonna bask under them lights?

I'm excited to watch a run with that liquid cooled lighting. How much power does the water chiller use? That plumbing sure would mean cutting less huge holes in the ceiling. I'll be watching this.

How are you liking those Quantum's? Do they feel brighter than C&C 1000's?

What exactly does VHO do to a mother plant? I have a bottle lying around but never got around to using it.

badgui- the VOH produces more off shoots for the plant.more nodes. it helps in getting more clones. what you want to do is start it start off with 300ppms then every four days up it by 300ppm till you get to 1200ppms and keep it there. hope this helps
tabbb- i dont know the exact watts it pulls put it isnt that much. if you are contemplating about getting one for your rez for your system i would definitely get one

Ahh liquid lumes, check my sig I am running a Fresca sol! Good to see people making the plunge into water cooling!

I run a 250gph pump with a 4 gal resi and a 1/10th HP chiller. My chiller draws like 280w of power!

I ran a REALLY small resi because of space but I would think with only 2000w and a 1/4hp chiller you should only *need* 25 gals or so.....the more the better of course but space was an issue for me!

nice. I'm looking to do a 6000 watt setup with the same type of equipment (ebb and grow and LL). Keep us updated.

Well i have been looking for another LL grow for some time now.

I have had some substantial issues and have seemed to fix them but soon i will know the truth.

I will describe all my set ups and what happened and what i did to rectify them and where i am now,any helpful info is welcomed too.

Had a 1K grow air cooled with an 8" vortex can fan drawing from a Can-50 and out the 10x10x8 room,no Co2 and temps were mid 70s year round with some house AC.

Two grows were done, first was a .7 GPW and the second was a 1.2 GPW grow.

Went looking for organic soil and ended up in awe of the LL set up,spent several hrs building a HF Radient 8" reflector/LL with the shop guy which was specially designed by Hydrofarm for the LL.

Got it and a 1/4 HP HF chiller too.

Decided to put the chiller in the attic(to keep heat out of the room) which with the head pressure required a 950 gph pump for the 9 foot height.

Used a 55 gal poly drum for a res filled with R/O and plumbed to the LL.

The chiller fought to keep the temps at the selected 70F temp all day long and the attic was never over 80F.

Went through the trouble of swapping out the chiller in hopes of it being weak but another did the same thing too.

Upgraded to a 1/2 HP and it now cycles instead of running all day(summer may be dif. and need a plentum built to keep the chiller cool.)

Added a CAP 4 burner Co2 unit and a PPM-2A and i sealed the room up tite and temps went up to mid to high 80s and w/o the burner it stayed nearly the same.

The LL has a 4" duct through it so i added a 4" vortex and cooled it with some decrease in temps.

The room was my get away for music and posting but mid 80s is WAY uncomfortable,my grow had MAJOR spider mites too so i rethought the whole room.

BTW,i did run a dehumidifier which makes alot of heat too.

So now i ordered a tent DR240W and a 12000btu twin tube AC to solve my issues of heat and comfort.

This room also has a 2x5x8' closet for a veg room which needed to be sealed from light and now it can be opened all the time,it also has a 4' vortex bringing in fresh cool air as well.

The tent will now have the 1K HPS LL and another HF Radient 8" both air cooled through the twin tube Ac in and out of the room with another 4' vortex to move the air through better,

The tent will have the 12000btu AC,70pt. dehumidifier,can-50/vortex 757cfm 8" and the burner in one end and a 4x6 canopy under the two fixtures with a 1K HPS and a 400 MH with two 10.0 UVB CFLs for tric production as well.

These liquid cooled systems are rare and any detailed info like i posted is critical for us to KNOW if these lights are really worth what they say they are.

Please add to my post any info or questions of any kind.

The system i have designed should kick ass and could be better if i had the balls to go 2K which i dont.

very cool, literally. I'm bout to get me some frescas or LL's for summer to go with my quantums too! I can tell you my quantums are brighter than my xtrasun coil ballast, and are brighter than lumatek too. Did a side by side and you can tell without a light meter that their brighter. Good growin in that room bro. Really nice! What strains do you plan to run?

I bought a LL and hooked it up w/ a 1000 HPS. However, in my neck of the woods we use just as much amperage on cooling as we do lights. Long story short I am over my test run w/ the Liquid Lumens tube and its just not a realistic piece of gear for my needs. Would love to get rid of it if anyone wants to PM me.

What were your issues with them? Did you chill a big enough res? I've used the frescas in the shop and a 64 gallon trashcan and cheap active air 1/4 hp chiller grew some killer peppers that made me choke so bad I drank a half gallon of 2% milk and puked... Those were some expensive peppers!!!!

Man, I saw this same kind of approach in a thread on OG years ago. It seemed to me there were issues with the output. Have you tested with a light meter to see what your total loss due to signal attenuation turned out to be?
