Black day in the Dutch history...

8 coffeeshops in Bergen op Zoom en Roosendaal have to close!!
No tolerence policy anymore for those two cities.

sorry guys only in Dutch

http://www.nrc.nl/binnenland/article2035331.ece/Grenssteden_sluiten_alle_coffeeshops

Hi Whazzup, good to see you..

Activeman

Karma, it was great to meet you guys again since a long time.
It was realy "quality time"...

edit: Just spoke with 2 coffeeshop owners in Bergen op Zoom and Roosendaal.
All shop owners are going to sit together and are taking the case to court.

The 2 cities ordered new rules:

The shops can only sell 2 gram (was 5 gram) a day to a person.

Shops can only have 300 grams max (was 500 gram) in stock.

The cities think that they can close all the shops in 2 years, but probably sooner. We'll see.

It is creating only more problems for other places like Maastricht and Breda.
So they have another excuse again to close down those shops?
This kind of politics is creating only more problems!
So it looks like Dutch politics strangles the tolerance policy more and more....

It realy sucks!

News in english:

http://www.dutchnews.nl/news/archives/2008/10/drugs_tourism_prompts_cannabis.php

I will continue to follow the whole situation and keep on reporting.

LEGALIZE!!!

Peace, G.A.

Looks like you all had a great time i must say the buds looked vey nice all of them, i had just read about this Ga and i was infact going to tell you lol.Karma all the buds look top draw stuff in those tubs ,i bet all you lot was well mashed ,I notice in the artical the towns Roosendaal's mayor Michel Marijnen (Christian Democrat is a cd .

I wonder if thats has anything to do with it Ga cant you lot vote this party out of Power how did they get in power i have asked u before .

I am sure, was it todo with Bosnia, when your goverment stepped down or somthing like that .Sorry i am not to up on all your politics and how your parties are.And how the cd came to power.Ga how many smokers is there in Holland is there any stats on it i think you have a lower rate of use than we do.Such a sad day indeed lets hope the courts see sense and that the towns mayor is moving the goal post.

I dont know what is wrong with you cd ist like they are trying to reinvent the wheel, yet they want it to be broken by taking each spoke out bit by bit.So in the end the wheel will not even work . your system is abit like a bent or wobbly wheel with the back door gray and the front door ok.I dont know if u know this Ga as iread this on another site but it seems most of your judges infact would like cannabis legal.

THE HAGUE, 08/10/08 - Over half the magistrates in the Netherlands consider cannabis should be legalised. So reports Vrij Nederland weekly, following a survey among the judiciary.

The leftwing weekly interviewed 489 judges, 140 prosecutors and 22 judges in training. Over half (52 percent) were in favour of decriminalising 'soft drugs' (cannabis, hash). Over one in ten (12 percent) even want possession, dealing in or use of 'hard drugs' (cocaine, heroin, XTC) no longer to lead to criminal prosecution.

Nearly half the respondents (48 percent) consider that anti-terrorism measures have been tightened up too much. Judges in particular are also concerned about the privacy of citizens (41 percent). Ten percent even believe the Netherlands is on the road to becoming a police state. Simultaneously, the Netherlands has become less safe, 49 percent believe.

Over half (55 percent) of the judges and prosecutors do not want suspects acquitted in a completed criminal case to be able to be tried again if new evidence surfaces. This contradicts a proposal by Justice Minister Ernst Hirsch Ballin, who wants to permit re-opening of such cases.

The full results of the survey and an interview with Hirsch Ballin are in the Vrij Nederland issue appearing today.http://www.nisnews.nl/public/081008_2.htm so it seems the judges knoiw the score and have some sense pitty the cd dont , just like here our goverment set up a panel of experts to talk about it they spent 9 months looking at all the facts, and at the end of the day our goverment do they listern do they shit. They say it should stay class see ,But oh no shite stain gorden brown knows best .So after spending all that money 23 experts from all feilds 20 say it should stay class c but becouse brown is a son of a pastor or somthing like that cannabis is evil and Bad .what aload of bs ps sorry about the stoned waffle rant .You always get the long post from me lol you are about the only one as well who does .Take it easy m8 and stay safe and keep fighting the good fight .

Hi HR,

It shows that some politicians don't know real life.
And it looks like they don't wanna know.
The good thing is that the problem is in the open now.
Negative and postive are meeting.
Major Leers of Maastricht called his own party fellows from Roosendaal and Bergen op Zoom dumb.
Prohibiting doesn't solve the problems.
Countries like Belgium, Germany and France should start to take their own responsibillity, instead of blaming the Dutch.
Now they are going to lower the amount of grams that coffeeshops are aloud to sale in Roosendaal en Bergen op Zoom. This creates only more "drugs running", because the people that come from abroad want more.
This was already the case with 5 gram, so the problems will only increase...

The coffeeshops are the most social places, where race, background, or intergration ain't no issue.

And you meet the most colorfull people and animals, like this afternoon at my favorite smoke shop...

By the way the first and second of december there will be a tribunal at the governement building were one of the issue will be:

"The negative influence of prohibition on the daily
situation"...

At this tribunal pro and contra will meet and speak
Speakers from the social and prevention fields, but also ministers and people from the Cannabis scene.

www.cannabistribunaal.nl

This tribunal is organised by the Cannabis College, ENCOD and Stichting Drugsbeleid Nederland..

It's time to raise our voice!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their harvest...

Have a great weekend folks...

Peace, G.A.

Little stress and chaos at the Canna Embassy.
A guest and construction workers on both floors.
The guy that made the sealing did a great job.
Also the painter did a good job on the little windows upstairs.
And they loved the Green Ambassador.
As a reward of the nice work they did (they got also paid ofcourse) I gave them both a nice branch of the Green Ambassador.
Big smiles on their faces!!

The harvest is curing and I smoked the first dried Green Ambassador... feels so nice..

Take care and stay safe folks...

Latest news:

Major Leers from Maastricht organizes a national weed conference after decision Bergen op Zoom and Roosendaal to close down all their 8 coffeeshops.
Leers invites all majors and national organisations.
He thinks by closing down the shops the problems will only increase and it needs a more clear national approach.
He wants surrounding countries to support the Dutch approach and if not end the tolerence policy.
But regulating the backdoor is not an issue at the moment.
Even not for the "so called" socialist party (PvdA)!
This is todays news..
My personal vision is that only more coffeeshops will close down and that only "the choosen few" will stay.

It's time for a real change and an aware approach!

For the Dutch a link with the news and a radio interview with the socialist party (PvdA):

Hello world,

The Canna Embassy will join the No Mercy Supplies Cup at the 13th of december in Amsterdam with the Green Ambassador.

http://www.nomercy.nl/forum/

Also together with ENCOD ( http://www.encod.org/info/-English-en-.html ) the Canna Embassy is busy organizing "The evening before the Cannabis Tribunal" in The Hague.
At the Catacombs under the old city hall there will be a night with information on the tribunal, but also dj's will play there.
See it like a "warming up".
It's a closed event, so you can smoke there and also de Verdamper will be around.
I hope to see some of you guys there...

Meanwhile enjoying the harvest..

Smoked some also friday of the Green Ambassador/Erdpurt.
Very Indica and a couchlock high...
The original Green Ambassador is more an uplifting high.
Strong, but uplifting...

Every day the coffeeshops and the Dutch policy are in the news.
It looks like it's all coming together now.

Peace, G.A.

Hello GA Hope you are doing well and all is good your ways ,and everyone else is doing well, and everyone plants.

Nice looking big bud kallena, real nice colours on that girl.

GA i know some things dont look good your ways but its not all doom and gloom.
It seems alot of folks would like to see things sorted out once and for all .So that the back door to the cafe is legal,to cut out big crime.

Once in a old uk mag called red eye mag it does not run anymore,Someone once wrote How things could be done here ie the uk, everyhome grower was ok to have a set number of plants indoors or a set ammount of space .Ie each grower could use say
3 square meters .

Then they would pay each year the goverment set amount for a licence, And you would have to get a Certificate from the fire brigade, or a electrician,to say you was good to go , then once you had got all that.

Then you was good to grow and the goverment then made money from everyone who held a licence. Now thiswas just one person idea a very good one i thought but our goverment is still like what it says in my sig on a stupid witch hunt .

Here is some new good Dutch news what i got from another uk pot site.

Dutch councils want to legalise cannabis cultivation
Published: Thursday 20 November 2008 08:17 UTC
Last updated: Thursday 20 November 2008 10:16 UTC
A survey carried out by the Dutch broadcaster NOS has revealed that close to three quarters of all Dutch councils with several 'coffee shops' within their boundaries want to legalise the purchase and cultivation of cannabis. They believe this would reduce the criminality and public nuisance that currently plague such establishments. In the Netherlands, customers can legally buy small amounts of cannabis from so-called coffee shops.

The researchers, who questioned 30 local councils with more than four coffee shops within their boundaries, also found that many of them want to reduce the number of shops.

The problems with coffee shops occur mainly in the border areas with other countries. Some councils in these areas have recently announced that they will take steps to reduce the problems. In Maastricht, for example, which lies close to the border with Belgium, the city council has agreed to the removal of all its coffee shops from the city

And also this one Ga ,both the same just the second one has more info on it.

Cannabis cafe mayors back current policy
Thursday 20 November 2008

Most of the Dutch towns and cities with cafes that openly sell cannabis under licence are happy with the current policy of tolerating soft drugs and even want the government to regulate the production and supply, according to two surveys published on Wednesday.

This, say the councils, would put an end to the current anomaly in the system which turns an official blind eye to the sale and consumption of cannabis but bans the large-scale cultivation of marijuana plants and the wholesale trade.

One survey was carried out by the civil service magazine Binnenlands Bestuur and the other by the NRC newspaper.

Legalisation

Both surveys asked the mayors of towns with cannabis cafes, known as coffee shops, for their views on the country’s policy of tolerating soft drugs sales. The outcome is in marked contrast to calls at a national level for a more restrictive policy by the national government.

In total, coffee shops were identified in 109 different local authority areas and eighty-eight mayors took part in the magazine’s telephone survey. Of these 54 said they were in favour of legalising the entire soft drug supply chain including the mayors of Amsterdam, Maastricht, Haarlem and Hilversum.

Another 25 said were satisfied with the existing situation and nine said they would like coffee shops to be banned altogether.

Few want a ban

Of the 70 or so local councils that responded to the NRC questionnaire, over 75% said they want the national government to regulate the supply of cannabis to coffee shops and 14 want them closed down.

The number of cafes where cannabis is sold fell from 729 in 2005 to 702 last year, according to new statistics for the justice ministry published on Thursday. Nine years ago there were 846 so-called coffee shops nationwide.

Hi HR,

Thanks for sharing.

There is so much confusion goïng on at the moment.
A friend just called me and asked: "The state is goïng to grow"?
The state is not going to grow, they just continue the tolerance policy for sure for the next two years.
But today 28 majors of bigger and smaller cities and different political background came together and decided to give a signal to the national politics.
They don't wanna close down the coffeeshops and want to regulate the backdoor.
Not the state, or city are goïng to grow, but private compagnies.
The coffeeshops (growshops?) can licence the growers in their theory.
I think a lot of small compagnies will pop up then
Eindhoven starts a pilot with the regulated providing from grower(s) to the coffeeshop....
Dark clouds floating away above my head...
Those are brainwaves of 28 majors that had a so called "Cannabis Top" today.

Since the Canna Embassy became a member of ENCOD I am very busy with calls, flyers, posters, meetings, and trying to obtain all the activities and meet some friends that are joining the High Times Cannabis Cup.

The week before the Cannabis tribunal.

High Times Cannabis Cup 23th, 24th and 25th Amsterdam:

http://hightimes.com/entertainment/hager/4401

Opening of a Hemp Gallery in Amsterdam coming sunday:

And the "War on drugs filmfestival" at the 24th and 25th.

http://www.cannabiscollege.com/tenyearbday.html

I keep ya guys updated as much as possible...

And by the way, major Cohen stated at "live tv" tonight that after the second of december folks can still buy mushrooms in Amsterdam!

Sorry guys that I am not "online" that much, but no news, is good news!!

Catch you later folks and thanks again HR for sharing..

Have a great weekend all!

Peace, G.A.

Hello G.A.
Nice thread about the Dutch situation on Cannabis, whats going on nowadays in an country where the Christian fundamentalists are telling what to eat and even what to do in bed.:muahaha:
For years Cannabis is a big issue for some political parties here in the Netherlands, but i'm sure the big holy plant will win.For more than 12000 years the plant has never been defeated by mankind and this will continue i'm sure of it.New timeage is coming up and that will change humans also.

Stone Locust has given me a link to this thread because
i had a question about the strain Purple Peace. This is a hybrid of a Nepali strain and Viking if i'm well informed.Where can you get the seeds of this strain and do you know something about the genetics of the Viking strain.
I have been growing this strain also but nobody seems to know the genetics.
I know that the genetics came from Old Ed (R.I.P. 2007)

Peace

El Manito
