Anybody got any interesting snake skinnin tekneeks?

Thanks alot Zizu! Thats just what I was lookin for. I was wonderin if anybody ever done it like this before. Yea.. This realy dose seem to get some Folks all worked up. I dont think theyre realizen the conditions where we'r at. I think these snakes are cool as shitt. I just need to killem. I dont go crost the highway to do it or nothin. That would be kinda like gettin a can of raid and runnin all up and down the road with it. I just kill the ones in my yard. If theyr anywhere Im might be walkin, Im killenem. And I shure the hell aint gonna just leavem lie there. Im eatinem. And the skins are bout prety fukkin cool so I shure do takem off. Well Ya know what Zizu.. Thats just bout what I was thinkin. Im gonna tryan peel round the mouth and pull the skin back over the head. Then soons I got enoughf head meat exposed I figure Il get a nail in there. Rite into an old stump. Then Il tryan just peelem back inside out and pull the skin all the way to where the rattles wont let me pull no more. Then Il cut the bit of meat that conects there and prep the skin inside out. When its ready I guess Il pullem back outside out. With an inner tube and some ice cubes I figure we'l have a nice neck cooler for the summer.

It works good for eels too. I finally got most of the parts for my Aero setup so I hopefully will build her up in the next week or so. I'll send ya a link when I get the thread goin! The S&P fan arrived so now I gotta build up a carbon scrubber then throw it all together. I'm gonna try to make it out of town on fri to get some clones.

Hey HCA, man, be careful working around that rattler's mouth. Them fangs will still get you. It could be ten or twenty minutes after it's dead and skinned and that sucker will be still trying to bite. you think there will be any problem with cleaning it, or turning it back right side out?

Yea Brudda! These things are treacherous! The old timers told me long ago" Never takem outta your freezer the next day after ya frozem." They said theyd come back to life and slither offa my counter and get me! I shure the fukk took their advice! I always made shure we leftem in the freezer for a fyew days at least before we thawem. See back when I first got to AZ we were so poor that Im sory to say we stole mellons and stuff to eat. We ate whatever was in the field. This was back round 86 or so. We pikt ourselfs up but at first it was kinda ruff. I aint proud that I stole mellons or grapes or nothin but we did. Anyhow, Somma the old timers took a liken to me and my Breth and told us a fyew things. They told us where to get rabits and snakes. Old prospecter Kenny and his Buddy Emmit showed me how to go out early and gettem when theyre commin out to the highway to get on the blaktop to warm up for the mornin. They showed us how to gettem with a snare from a piece of conduit and an old piece of clutch cable. Their prety slow in the mornin and you can get a snare round them prety easy. We stukem in coffee cans and went home and puttem in our freezer. They told us never to take one out the next day and we never did! I got a 4 footer in my freezer rite now. Some things just stay with ya huh? I really dug it out in AZ. We always had a freezer fulla snakes and rabits! Well anyhow... Im hopin he'l turn inside out prety easy. Im gonna real carefully peal round his mouth and soons I can Il start tryinna kinda like peal his skin offa him. Il givem a snip at his rattle and we'l see how that comes out. Il be careful and try not to tearem. I usualy keepem salted and streched in the sun but this time I guess Il have to improvize. Im waitin rite now for a camera. They didnt have it so there gonna send it soons they get it. Soons I get it I'l take the snake outta the freezer and give it a try like Zizu said. I bet I wind up with a kikk ass neck chiller!

I'm not a whizz with poisonous snakes as i only keep the non injecting varieties but i dont understand the logic of keeping them in a freezer for a few days, surely if you dont want to get poisoned then it would be a simple case of milking them once they are dead. Have i missed the point and putting them in the freezer is how you kill them, like fish? If they can still inject when dead then milking them would not be hard would it? Surely it's safer? It's not hard at all to milk a snake...

As for skinning them, have you tried blanching them like tomatoes? Works for chickens......

I puttem in the freezer so they keep till whenever I wanna eatem. Its prety easy to just thawem when ya like and then skinnem and guttem. It works great! Pluss its jutsa bit creepy pullenem apart while theyre still movin. It might even be humane. Its just somthing the oltimers showed me. Prospecter Kenny and His partner Emmit. I know these guys are gone now. I knewem back in the 80's and they were in their late 80's then. They were really good buddys to me then. God Blessem and God rest theyr souls. They loved what they did. Everyday! They worked theyr claims good enoughf to keepem open and they had a real good time at it! I had a really good time kikkin round in AZ.
