help--early sexing method needed

hi folks

I start a new run early this month. They are about 15days in veg. 10 plants are put in my over-crowed veg room(1.5'x1.8') They are now all in 4" pots.

Here is my plan to sex them earlier to get rid of the male.

I'll put them into the flower room for 12/12 light schedule till they show sex and keep the girls and then take them back to the veg room for full veg growth under 16/8 scheme.


Would this does any harm to the little babies?
or is there any better idea about early sexing?

hey marilover, I see no problem with that except maybe stress issues.
but i re-veg'ed some clones that were in flower and im happy as hell lol.
flip em to 18/6 though or 24/0..16/8 doesnt sound right

I would just clone each one and let the originals finish flowering. You will have some bud while you wait for the clones to finish.

make sure you label each one as to its corresponding clone.

just let the moms veg out for a month or two. After they get about 6 nodes they will put out preflowers at the branch unions... 2 white hairs - it's a girl! balls on a stick....it's a boy. Search for photos if you need to see what they look like.

No need to clone moms and in reality a seed mom should get about 16 weeks of growth before you start cloning from her. She will have shown preflowers way before this point.

Your method doesn't "harm" but it does "stress" and takes too long. Keep the seed moms for clones, they are more vigorous than clone moms.

Sex all my strains by week 4 from popping seed. Just sexed medman at 18 days from seed. Use a 7X eyelupe(like a jeweler uses), and put it right on node behind the stipule, in front of the emerging growth. Start looking at the fourth node on up. If you wait for the 2 white hairs to show for female you'd have to wait longer. It becomes very easy to recognize the sex as soon as a preflower appears.

HeadyPete : now all 10 plants are in 4" pots,can they stay that long in 4" pot til the sex shows up? the veg room can't accomodate all 10 in 6" or larger ones I'll try two plants to see how "stress" would turn out

GH El nino, DP strawberry cough, Mandala Satori and GH White Rhino

Satori > shows sex at 1 month old, germed 4 get 2 female
they are 2+month old and put in flower room 5 days ago.
SC > germed 8, only 2 pop out, one is darwf 2+month old, the other is only 2 weeks old
El Nino > germed two,no show after 1.5 month, put it under 12/12 5 days ago, just check minutes ago, it's a SHE!! the other is also 2 week old
WR > germed 5, 5 all pop out, only 2 weeks old

and also in the veg room are 3 satori clones(they are the only gilrs I'm sure of)

M- Nice crop there! Have only grown the DP strawberry, found 2 phenos, the taller with less dense bud is the best smoke. Growing 6 females of Nr Nice version of White Rhino (Medman). I'm about to go to 12/12 and had to use LST as they wanted to be tall.

He's saying take cuts and flower the donors. By the time cuts show roots, donors will be in flower and you can sex them. The donors, depending on strain, could be ready for harvest by the time the cuts can start to flower.

i use valcano easy valve@190C/0.2grams, ,2-3 tokes make me sedative and muchie, that's exactly what i want for med use, 2/3 bag will put you in the outer space nice to
smoke before bed!! this time,i gonna try GH's WR to see if any difference. cannt wait to see ur report on medman's WR!!

i use 250hps and lsted all of them,cause my head room is only 6 feet
the satori in the flower room may be 3' tall if i dont lsted it, it remain at somewhere around 1 and a half feet tall

the dwarf SC turns out to be SHE after 8 days in 12/12
but she is only 8" tall after 2+months in veg, that's wierd

They were dutch passion regular seeds. The tall lanky pheno is the tasty one. Can't really say strawberry, but fruity and is the kind that has a distinct odor after smoke that smells of quality smoke, and lingers. The high is up, and euphoric!!! The shorter pheno with tight, hard buds, is good smoke but nothing like the tall pheno.
