i believe Cheese is a SK1 IBL plant with Afgahn dom traits....

is this a match made in heaven......???......i know i like the Afghan dom SK1...

i was under the impreshion that because samS incrossed the SK1 beffore coming to Amsterdam Cheese x "Shit" would still be an IBL

True F1 hybrid is what that would be. IBL x IBL=True F1. IBL=F5 and upwards i believe.

Consistancy i think..im not a breeder at all, but i do know that the majority calls any cross a F1...but when crossing two hybrids(not linebred), all you get is a polyhybrid. More diversety would appear in such a cross. When crossing two IBL´s you should see more hybrid vigour than both parents and in the F1 seeds should grow somewhat uniform. Polyhybrids can and will, be vigorious, most of the time, whereas the IBL often grows slower and yields lesser. But when crossing two IBL´s, the vigour should reappear.

IBL x IBL should give rise to very uniform plant's but most cannabis varieties are only IBL for a few traits so you'll most proberly see some variation no matter what IBL varieties you use.

Cheese isn't just a skunk pheno it's a 'sport' or mutation. No idea how that effects breeding though.

I think Sam [and others, but he is the man who knows....] said Cheese is "just" an exceptional Skunk 1 phenotype.

Skunk 1 is [....or was..] "truebreeding" ... Matt's point about IBLs only breeding true for some traits at best, plus the chatter about Skunk 1 genetics getting a little bit blurred nowadays compared to Sam's original work would make me think it is not really classifiable as an IBL.

Also, as I understand it, Skunk 1 came to us from Colombian x Mexican x Thai x Afghani... a stabilised 4way hybrid with just 25% Afghani..... for me, I would say the only obvious Afghani traits are the short flowering time and more yield than you would expect from the ther parents....

Then again I am probably totally wrong !

i just checked the dampkring seed website....it sounds good...after tasting the MakoHaze at the 06 HTCC ,,id say they could do better with a different NL5 x haze male

Well I'm doing a 1985 vintage SK#1 (F3 in this line) onto the Cheese.So I'll see if the Afi comes through.

I am surprised that not more folk have tried to do SK#1 x Cheese.Seems logical to me to isolate the cheese "Funk"

the Afghan is what i want to isolate....this smell from cheese needs be inbreed propperly.....it deserves a place in history

is not the cheez from back when road kill skunk line if so crossing the 2 you might get a mutation of a rks in the mix .i do not know .how old is the cheez go back .i know ther are a lot of cheez crosses but i say go for it .i love skunk and i am looking for a good skunk myself. good luck

Ac gold is the Mex sativa.... what makes you think the Afghan traits are indicators of cheese ????? if this were so would you not just start with some Afghan IBL ?????

the cheese was/is a freak from an alledged pack of Sk#1 (sensi) from circa88-89/90 it was grown alongside silver pearl and NL, it took around 7 to 8 years before it mutated to the stinky thing....

(on a side note some speculated that the "cheese" was/is actually ill and thats when the smell came about.... )

i dont know why you say its mutated....or ill....where did you get the info from ??,,,they said it was lucky sk1 pheno and its allways been like this.....SamS saw Cheese and said it was a perfect example of "sweet" SK1...so who knows ??....i dont

the reason why i dont want to start with Afghan is it makes SuperSkunk not a SK1 IBL...BBC is exactly that Cheese x Afhgan with 2 bx`s..... IBL is my objective....Afghan might be a BX ..but i thought my job would be easyer if i started with an Afghan dom Skunk line...shanti has done half my job...and Cheese is a world class SK1 IBL.....it just makes sence to me





my friends and I have come to believe the massive smell from the Cheese comes from the old Afgan samS s used in SK1 the Roadkill has a similar "massive smell" but RoadKill also has the acrid taste too.....Cheese is a sweet Skunk with Afghan "large" smell.....Cheese even tastes like strong hash sometimes

NL apparently has a similar Afghan Trait .....SK1 used to be known as genericly similar to NL in the UK in 89.....the look/smell/taste were similar back then.....everyone loved the heavy smell...then it all fell apart
