Weird, they are $180 Direct from their website. This guy must be getting them dirt cheap, or hes charges a arm and a leg for shipping, I was gonna buy a waterfarm off ebay, they guy wanted more to ship it then i would have paid for it.

STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING WITH THE WHITE LINING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I BOUGHT A SUNHUT A COUPLE MONTHS AGO AND ALMOST LOST EVERYTHING BEFORE I FIGURED IT OUT!

EVEN WITH THE TENT DOWN, STILL IN THE ROOM WITH THE OTHER LIGHTS THE PLANTS STILL NEVER GOT BETTER.

My heros at the hydro shop understood and new about the issue. Bottom line the guy in asia used "glue b" on the latest tents instead of "glue a" because it was cheaper. The hydro shop had no idea the Sunhuts were having the problem to until me. I emailed them and 2 weeks later they had a FULL and COMPLETE story to tell me.

anyway, ive got a silver one im picking up on monday. Good times

Howdy,

i have not been on in a while, and I am in the Market for a new tent. Is the Home Boxes safe. As i understand, the hydro-huts were releasing some type of gas that yellowed plants. i read this thread from beginning. and did not hear/read many updates.. Please any info would be helpful

Don't buy the Sun Hut. Sun still claims that white vinyl is perfectly OK to line the grow room. Just last week I got a e-mail from Sun's RMA dept stating they knew of NO instances of plants being killed in the Sun Hut I guess they feel perfectly OK with stonewalling and lying to there customers.
I was lucky I bought it at a reputable dealer in Oaksterdam that agreed to pay out of his own pocket to replace it with the newer model with the silver PE lining.

WOW! I can't fucking believe this! I bought the deluex size Hydro Hut a year ago and have not been able to get anything to grow in it. I could not for the life of me figure out what was wrong with my garden. I veg in one space of my home and everything is fine. I move plants into the hut to flower and everything turns to shit. All the new growth turns yellow or splotchy green/yellow. The leaves literally burn up and die. The whole plant eventually burns up and dies. I thought I was feeding too much but I have done everything from feeding less organic nutes to feeding next to nothing. I switched organic nute brands, called nutrient manufactuers, I've been at whits end. I lost my green thumb and couldn't figure out why gardening had become so immpossible! Only now I come to find out it's the damn tent. A full year of shit! I can't believe this. It's just my luck. If the tent's been killing my garden what negative health effect has it had on me? A full year of breathing toxic fumes, oblivious to the situation, wondering what the hell is wrong with my garden! I'm calling the place I bought the damn thing from and I hope they treat me right.

Thank you ICMAG and forum members because with out you I'd have no idea it was the tent all along. Who would have thought? This is so upsetting. Had I kept in touch with the community I would have known sooner. :respect:

Peace

I just ordered the Sunhut XL with the understanding that all the new ones being shipped were silver lined. They still list the bottom liners as being white, so i'll have to see when i get it.
Special ordered from Plantlightinghydroponics.com - $200+shipping.

That is the Sunhut by NGW (Sunlight Supply). Piece o doo doo and the floor is still white and is still the problem.

So your silver with the white bottom is still causing you problems?????

I set mine up on monday and havent noticed any problems yet. You are right though, its a POS. The white lined one was much better quality.

O and light leaks like a MOFO too!!

Let me get this strait, everyone with an aircooled hood has two exhaust?

One that is the scrubber and one running through the light, so two exhaust fans?

I would of thought that perhaps, that maybe the aircooled hood would cause a contamination of the clean air outside of the tent since this is not scrubbed cooling.

Please discuss, I am thinking that these tents may cost more than they are worth.

HTG tents great IMO. i'm sure there are better brands but no complaints here. no probs with plants, and i didnt here of any complaints on HTG. for the $, u cant go wrong. i would just air out any tent for at least a week till that smell leaves. leave fans on to IMO.

Nah. One fan will do it. Especially if it's a 4" inline or larger...

The hood will draw air from the tent over the bulb, through ducting, through the fan, through the scrubber and out of the tent.

You might have to place the scrubber outside of the tent, say on top, for this setup to work, but it will adequately cool the tent while removing odors.

2/1000wts in a 4x8, a 265cfm blowing thru the lights and one sucking thru the lights.

NO WAY IN HELL IS THAT ENOUGH. Even with a 465cfm bringing air in thats still not enough.

I finally just put a Everstar 10k BTU ac blowing into the tent and thats that.

Its hot as hell here though

For anybody out there who is considering a new SunHut, I'm extremely happy with mine. Just set it up today & it's very well made - heavy canvas, big-ass zippers, silver interior with a silver tub floor - which was my main concern.
The sewing is top notch all the way around - straight, even seams. I'll be using it for drying my harvested outdoor girls untill I install a 20 amp line, so i don't know about light leaks yet. Seems improbable with the quality of the construction, but i'll get some pics up when it's running.
