Just got a dog - a wiener dog - help me name it

Hi there, me and the family just bought a wiener dog, it's a female

brown with stripes, short hair

was looking for some good names, and i know you potheads have that creativity thing :)

also, if anyone has stories to share about this dog, or common knowledge, please do!

hey by the way yummy, you should get a dog too ;)

personally, I let my pets name themselves. Give the pup a day or three and something will happen that gives the pup it's name. (really hard to explain, sorry)

I agree, some of the best names have been chosen this way for my dogs, my Rotties were named for their early behavior two females from the same litter, Blitzi (Blitzkrieg) for her fast sneak attacks on me when she'd find me resting & Schatzi (sweetheart in German) for being such a quiet lapdog from day one.

Dachshunds are cool dogs but cannot sustain being overweight as their spines are obviously different, these dogs were bred long and slender to be able to enter rabbit burrows/tunnels for game hunting. In fact if you saw a properly nourished hunting bred Dachshund it'd surprise you at how small and slender they were really meant to be, smaller yet are the mini-dachshunds.

Anyway, great choice of dogs, my very first dog back in the 50s was a dachshund named Paulie and though just a kid I remember him well.......

good idea about them naming themselves... esp. if u didnt have a name piked out

yummy doesnt need a dog...he cant figure himself out.

and w/ the dog being of higher inteligence in that scenario the dog would own yummy.

...and what would he do if he got a boy dog and saw the dog goin for sum poon?

i just dont see it working :confused:

as soon as im at a spot where i can get my shepard, imma name him rommel altho that doesnt really help you... gratz on the dog.
