Need advice on what sativa to grow, & what med strain to grow for insomnia

Ok so I'm looking to grow two different strains for my next and what will be my 4Th grow. Strains DrChronic.com sells being as that's where I've always had good luck getting my seeds from. I want to try a full sativa this time as most of what I've smoked in my life has been indica. I've heard sativa's are more what the true pot smoker smokes as its more of a mental high then a knock you out and make you lazy body high. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong that's just what I've heard. So ya, I'm looking to go real upbeat motor-skill functional with this strain.

I also have a friend who has insomnia and I would love to grow a strain (I assume a medical indica type) for her that could help her get a better night sleep. So anyone who knows of a good medical strain for insomnia please chime in here.

mjj-as far as sativas go, there are so many i think fit what you want, you can pick from many. as far as insomnia goes, the best, hands down, i have ever found is a cali strain called P91. if you are in cali, you can track it down thru med providers, if not, i dont know where else to get it. the new cut floating around called FFA, i just harvested it, and the three times ive sampled it, it has shown GREAT promise for insomnia. that might be easier to obtain then p91 if your not in cali. good luck and i hope this info helps a lil.....subrob

thanks for pointing me in the Mandala Satori direction C6H6, too bad drchronic is out of stock at the moment. Cheap and resistant to heat says the write up on it. I would love to give it a try. Know anywhere to get fem seeds of it that your sure the place will ship and ship stealth?

Ok so nor DrChronic.com or sensiseeds.com has kalimist. Where can I get it that is a reliable site to ship to the states? I've heard Black Domina talked about for insomnia before and sensiseeds.com has it and "silver haze" so maybe that would be one stop shopping but its not called "super silver haze" on the site. Am I splitting hairs here? They also have silver haze #9, and in fem seeds to boot which would be nice as i hate wasting space on males. Big question is are all these haze types going to be the same type of high or no?

EDIT: Sensi doesnt ship to the states,.. so i now really need to know how to get Black Domina and silver haze to the US :-(

Someone recommended Lady Cane as a sativa. Cross that off the list. The G-13 influence is very strong and it makes you feel tired and stupid. A very unpleasant strain.

For sleep, any indica can do the job. Run it fairly long till you have some amber trichs and it will put you to sleep. Afghan and NL are really easy to grow, potent and full-on indicas.

On the sativa...understand that many go very long. Even satori and SSH can run well over 10 weeks depending on pheno. If you can find something with C-99 genetics, you have a better chance of a reasonable finishing time. WallyDuck has some C-99xPanama Red on Seedbay right now, but I know nothing of how easy that would be to grow.

got ya Eviltwin, saw two seperate questions, and bouncing around today, got some cuts with SAGE in it, which thought had some sativa properties, and those are the ones we use at night for sleep, saw old thread and kind of bumped it.... thanks for noticing..... and i was hoping to come back for more posts, there are a couple out there on insomnia, and a million on sativas......peace.....

Do you like the G-13 by itself?

I always heard get a fast flowering finising indica and get loads of amber of this type of med search. We have a Pine Tar Kush and a ChemAge we use now...by default i guess, will be searching for more...

I have been steered towards SSH and got 7 beans that will try.
