I have the Aqualine Bushke Bulbs...ran them the same time i ran 800 watts of CMH.....they dont do jack shit..and they emit Alot of UV..dont waste your money on CMH or UV bulbs.....
it shocks me how no one thinks that Phillips themselves would market these for the horticulture industry and sweep the market up if they were so bomb....they must be some idiots huh......
how come we cant see the CMH broken down like all those other bulbs in the study above i posted? cant be that hard to get some test for us Simba since you've came up out the ying yang on these bulbs...

We never said UV promotes more thc than would produce any other time.. just that uv is needed to fill.. And it only may be just a littl bit..

and when you have full spd you persay wouldnt need as much power as if in just one range.. thats common sense.. many small hoses are same as one big one.in filling a pool.. . (within reason)

Sometimes you must take a superior technology and hit people in the face with it. (Of course, that won't work on everyone.) I ran a Son Agro HPS, a blue MH retrofit, and a 400 watt CMH all in the same 430 ballast system. The HPS was "brightest", but threw tons of heat. Nice engineering; but still, 35 y/o technology. The MH was a little "bluer" than the CMH. However, the SPD of it showed spikes. We could tell that the red was missing. This threw tons of heat. HPS will throw heat through a glass "cool tube". The CMH gave off convective heat, like you say, Simba. This considered, I would give it the efficiency award. The CMH is like cutting a big skylight in your roof; but without the water leaks and up-front cost.
As to the toughness? I accidentally ran a 250 CMH in a 400 watt ballast. Holly crap! Oops!. Yes, it was open fixture. I unplugged it after 20 minutes. It ran a bit on the yellow side (my first clue) and it threw more heat than is should have; and less light. Yeah, I am lucky. But this just speaks to the toughness of the bulb. A 400/250 over-wattage and all it changes is the color and heat-throw? That is one beast of an arc tube.

Hi guys, just spent the past two days reading all the posts and searching for these bulbs here in the u.k.
I have a problem though, I am wanting to run two bulbs in a double length cool tube in a micro cab which the dimmensions are - (h) 70cm, (w) 100cm, (d) 55cm.
I thought either go with 2x100w or 2x70w as I feel 2x250w would be too hot for the size of the cab.

Are these the same product you guys are all talking about, apart from the different base ??
Also would I be able to remove the E40 base from the cooltubes and replace with 2 G12 bases. I know the E40's are removable from the cooltube but would G12 bases be able to be screwed in to the cooltube ??

Those Bulbs need a protected Fixture.(not cooltube)
two 150 watters would be best .. each lamp will do about 1.5' Sq ok...

I now just have to try and locate these bulbs here in the u.k, for some reason they seem to be fairly hard to find. Plenty electrical stockist list the CDO's but not the CDM's or MHC's.

Hey Simba. I just came accross this thread again.
I have a 2 x 400W ED17 bulbs...
Should i swap out one the ED17(CMH) and place in a 400W HPS bulb?
I had 1 plant inside that grew under 800W's of CMH and i also took clones from her
and placed them out side. Indoor plant became very dense, small nuggests.
My outdoor cloned from indoor became very airy(which is what i wanted)
Will adding in the HPS bulb make the buds more airy?

I got a 1000w CMH today from the hydro store. At least i guess it was CMH, it was in an unlabelled box. 4K i think. MIght have been lifelight or oem or repackaged Phillips from what this thread says. I recall the word Pulse in the name the guy told me.
He also had 600s in 4 different kelvin scales.
I imagine I will replace a hortilux HPS in flowering and try it the whole 9 week flowering cycle. Are these 1000s very new? 99% of this thread seems to be about small wattage CMH bulbs like 250s and 400s. Am I the only person to have these? Is this cutting edge or did I get scammed. The price was $170 each but thats ok if they work well.

I'm looking for a few 600w CMH if anyone can point me in the right direction as i can't find any anywere.I don't even know if they make them or not,looked on philips site and a few other manufactorers.

Your link doesn't lead to anything specific.
Check the ANSI code on your lamp, then find a ballast with the same code. S numbers are HPS, M numbers are MH
