It's great to see a thread like this.

I have 8 BOG strains. I have no clue about breeding. I haven't sprouted any of them because I didn't want to loose the strains. I've kept them sealed airtight for about 2 years.

So, what I want to know, how do I keep these strains going?

You are certainly in the right thread.

I wish I knew someone like that, but I don't. Being inactive here for the past year hasn't helped me any either.

Hey Southwind,

I just read this thread. I can't begin to show my respect for you, both as a grower/breeder and as a human being. Your concern for your fellow humans comes through so many of your posts, and your interest in this special strain of this special plant is bursting from all of the posts.

Your health concerns would have many, if not most, sitting in front of the television and concentrating only on their own physical health...but there you are tearing up greenhouses and making war with termites! Not to mention the damn fires blowing through your neighborhood. Makes my problems seem very small.

This project has been fun and educational to read. I wish I hadn't come upon it so late, and had been able to read it more slowly, on a daily basis. Sometimes reading post after post with technical genetic information strains my focusing abilities. Nevertheless, it has been a great read. Thanks for all you are doing, and I sincerely hope you are able to get your kidneys back to normal. One coma is enough, dude.

The elephant thai looks great. Is she the only one that has been treated with bushmaster? Respect for all your hard work and it all shows in your botanicals. :respect:

Btw my Datura is looking good. It has just dropped a spiked ball with a long extension, I presume to catch pollen, that nearly reaches to the soil. I am unfamiliar with these plants but they are quite interesting. Wish I had a camera to snap some shots but still waiting. :badday: Peace brother.

Just thought you may be experimenting with the bushmaster? I think the BOG plants should be fine without but it may be an interesting experiment anyways.

Thanks for the pics of the datura. Thats an interesting pic of the split spike ball.

Peace. :ying:

BUSHMASTER

Experiments YES!

Mainly I cannot imagine that the fix would be so simple for big oversized and unmanageable plants.

And so the experiment.

I will post my results.

But what we need is some controls.

I.E. Some of the same plants , treated and untreated.

and compare results.

so maybe we can still do it with the sweet tooth 1.1

we will see.

Now here is what I am also interested in: what can we do to make plants strong enough to bear the weight of flowers without staking, or tying or fans?

Sour Bubs

Thank you for the update Pirate138.

It is looking as if things are coming along.

And I am off to the hospital myself, that stone may just not pass without some help.

Or at least knowing what is going on there in there would help. something!

Goodnight all.

Thinking about this.....seems like some "out-of-the-box" thoughts are necessary. Not saying this is do-able, just tossing it out there for consideration. But, tomatoes are a plant that have a need for intense sunlight, as does cannabis. Tomato plants also suffer from the need for staking due to heavy weighted fruits.

This was an idea brought to the needs of the tomato grower:

What do the cannabis experts say? If the ground below the plants was lined with a highly reflective material like mylar, would that provide enough light to the plant to grow and flower prodigously?

Hmm

Hmm

Thanks HAL;

I am not sure I could grow my plants like that..other issues would arise.

Its interesting though.

OH GOD!

MY KIDNEY IS KILLING ME!
sorry, just had to get that out there.

Now, I am thinking that if I can get enough carbohydrates and silica to the plants perhaps..this would give the required tensile strength.

Or of course breeding my largest and most out of control plants to the stouter sour bubble.

But, I would like to not have to change the genetic makeup to getthe strength. besides any other plant bred in will obviously change the product .

I have read that in locales where there is not enough wind nursery people have sprayed the plants with water and then let them stand back up while drying and this produces an effect like weight lifting in humans.

up, down from weight of water, back up , lifting the branches.

stronger stems.

sorry to hear of the gall stone man, best wishes in regards...lollipopping is another method of staking,I would say the classic SCROG is the most efficient way to support branches on heavy nugs.

Pirate that sour bub leaflet looks insanely long, fire sat pheno?
