New Aero Concept

Cannabis, oxygen requires a fuel to burn. In an oxygen tent, the blankets, hair and oily skin are the available fuels. What are the available fuels in a water saturated rootzone? What could possibly ignite a fire in said rootzone?

Oxygen is most often used in what you would call dangerous environments, welding and smelting. Just because something is dangerous, doesn't mean it cannot be utilized. Human error is the main factor in these deaths you speak of.

Compressed gas cylinders are dangerous, yet people still use them to supply CO2. HPS/MH bulbs can explode, yet we still use them. Propane tanks supplying CO2 generators are dangerous, yet we still use them. It is dangerous to grow marijuana because you can go to jail, yet people still grow it.

I find it completely hilarious that anyone would claim increasing dissolved oxygen in an aeroponic system to be unnecessary... when there are so many threads discussing using air stones and hydrogen peroxide to increase dissolved oxygen.

MarquisBlack, uh... wait a second... I don't think that pump mixes the power source gas with the pumped substance.

double diaphragm pump: http://www.animatedsoftware.com/pumpglos/dbldiaph.htm

I think it just moves the syrup to the fountain drink machine, and there water and co2 are mixed with the syrup. So there is no point using O2 to power this pump, you could use CO2 still... which isn't a bad idea at all.

Theirs only one reason to put an air stone in your rez in an aero system and thats to keep your nutes mixt in their good, and I use h202 also but not in an effort to get the extra 0 to the root zone, I use it to keep any random pathogens in check. Hey Marquis, -if ya do do this, maby you could move next door to liam first.

Well, for now I've decided against O2 enrichment. Cannabis was able to sway me. That was a well-spoken and informational post, man. Props for that. Seems a waste to call this thread quits with a couple of experienced Aero growers present. Might as well get a few questions answered.

I plan on building a TAG rig in a few months using like an 18 gallon rubbermaid or something similar. Looking at probably an 8 site, 7 mister rig.

When shopping for a pump, what should I look for?

Approx. what flowrate/psi?

Sub vs. Inline?

Any particular model of pump you reccomend?

Price won't so much be an issue so gimme your rundown of ideal components.

Thanks guys for all the help.

Now thats just great Marquis. I was only kiddin bout movin next to liam. I seen these aero threads come and go and lotsa time theyr fulla the problems the op is havin. Ya dont need to have any of the problems anyone elce is havin with theyr aero if ya just fallow these simple principles. Keep your fogs droplet size from 50 microns down to 5, keep your root zone between 68f and 62f and run a proper formula. I recomend usin Coleman 48 qt or bigger coolers for root zones. (I use the 48 qt) 4 holes in the top is all ya need. Any more is just too much. Check my Sugar Shack junk yard thread. The coolers are real sturdy and can be handled ruff without a thought. Get a good EcoPluss 230 or 240 to push your nutes and Netafim micronet foggers to breakem down. Get a chiller too. You cant expect your fog to be chilled without one. Im runnin an Arctica 1/10th horse and it dose fine. Get a bigger one tho if ya want, it couldnt hurt. Dont even try aero without a chiller tho. If your wantin to build a single root zone you could make one outta a 48 qt Coleman cooler and put one Netafim micronet fogger in it. Itl do the job. Theres alot of crazy rampant growth that happens with aeroponics so ya dont wanna go with more than 4 plants in 1 cooler. You can put a light over each cooler. 600s are good. Do all this and keep your other condition normal and youl do real real good. Youl be feedin 1800 pps in flower. No shitt. Blessins on ya. I hope ya do well. Just dont fall for no gimmics. I hope Cannabis comes back too. He seems really knoledgable. Blessins!

Cannabis said:
Once the O or O2 becomes locally concentrated to a certain point, it's a matter of applying bleach to the roots; and the chemical reaction is more intense than typical for roots in assimilating nutrition.

Hey Howdy Cannabis! Could you laberate on this a bit please? Im really interested in what your sayin here. I noticed this myself. So what yer sayin is that if you do your aero good, youl end up with Plants that can absorbe crazy ammounts of nutes. Rite?

who me said:
O2 is highly explosive.....I for one think that is a bad idea

this is not exactly true o2 is not explosive it itself it is an oxidizer and makes just about everything else flammable. so if you were to for instance have a really o2 rich environment and introduce a spark anything it hit would go up provided it was flammable. or course it would go up big time with all the o2 feeding it .
