First Grow Ever! Lets see how many mistakes I make

Hello there so this is my first grow ever :) What a fun prodject.. so anyhow Ive sorta cheated you all out of the first 1 week after they sprouted.. oops.

Currently I just added 2 more CFL's to the situation since I saw my plants leaning at the light.

I have been feeding them only water getting ready to give them a light amount of nutes tommrow since ive seen growth slow up.

The majority of these fellas are Satori's from mandala's 5 of them are ??? from mandala. I had 100% germnation hurray, however 2 seemed to die shortly thereafter (got deep green and never fanned seed leaves out)

Overall i'm still surprised it has not gone worse and very happy for it. They went from a week of 24h light, then I bought a time and enjoyed 16/8 and now I set it to 12/12 Since I want to keep them short.

I'm getting ready to put out an order for a CMH bulb, I may grab a HPS for the last few flower weeks (I here thats good) but that is undecided so far.

Without further adeu, pictures :) (Please feel free to comment and tell me what I'm doing thats stupid.)

Well little update today, I noticed a few looked a tad wilty I'm going to call it overwater since it was only 2 of em outta 13, here is what they look like (the leaves still feel supple not dry or anything)

And happily the head of class gained like 6 leaves overnight, showoff (i really hope its female)

I felt my humidity might be a tad low so I added a watercup w/ a running airstone in it, hopefully it does good.

so far you made a great move charles... deciding to grow your own.
theres all kinds of great info on this site.
Im sure you will enjoy this every step of the way/ So far so good -im sure those babies will love those cfls../adding a small hps for flower would be a good idea too-it will bring more heat though so be prepared .
ill cross my fingers that ya get mostly females
I hope you enjoy your first grow boss/GL :joint:

Thanks for the kind words there steve. That lil box is for veggin... sorta (okay so its on 12/12 b/c I'm a tad behind my plan) I got another thats gunna house a 400w CMH I plan on using a tomato plant as a guinea pig my Idea is to have some fans stirring the air and pushing it up / down Multi light intakes (so i dont create super strong winds) and a nice strong exhaust pulling off my bulb (box is 2x3x4h) and yea currently I'm having a temp problem b/c my ac cant get the house under 80f

how big is your other area your gonna flower in?
is it-(box is 2x3x4h )? cause that 400 will deffinetly heat things up- youll need to try and ehaust that hot air out..
adding good circulation of air is good thinking.
especially if your temps now are 80 without the 400watter
battling temps usually is the thing that fcks with me. good air flow helps :)
keep us posted
later

thats in feet sorry. 2x3 footprint and 4 foot head room (2.5 after lights and pots ect)

it currently has alot of shit in it but yea. If the temps get to extream I've got a fridge I was thinking about growing in so I can use that or yank the cooler off it and pump that into my box. I am concerned about the temps but I'm pretty sure i'll have it in check

theres not alot of head room after u put a light in there, but it seems your aware and ready, good stuff.
let us know how the temps are treating you in the new box and the 400 watt comes into play.
Im happy to see your confident and moving forward . Keep it up boss. :lurk:

yeah so far so good bro. it is a small tight spot brotha. But I'm interested to see what you can do with it. Because i need to figure a small spot due to my location right now. And you may inspire me... Keep up the good work.

Well, you haven't blown yourself up yet. That's a good sign. I'd figure out your vent issues before moving into a fridge setup. While it isn't the most efficient method, your wooden box is one giant heat sink. Fridges and freezers are heavily insulated to prevent temp transfer. Whatever heat issues the wood box has will be amplified in a fridge.

Heh I actually got the fridge thinking I would have trouble keeping the temp up, then I bought a thermometer. Anyhow got the rooms temp down to 76F so next step is to drop the boxes down. Should have a CMH bulb to show off on wensday

currently they are growing into Good earth potting soild (from walmart) and where started in seed starter professional growers mix from plantation products (meijers). Once I get big cab running I was thinking about moving them into hempy buckets if guinea pig tomato plant survives the transplant.

hey man, i have the same kind of box

its a 400 watt hps in a 3' width X 3' heightX 2' depth. i can keep mine at about 5 degree above ambient.

how i have my setup is that i it framed with 1''x2'' posts and black and white plastic wrap.

i have my bulb situated on the one side of the 2' and a 200 cfm inline off the other end blowing out with no cooltube, which i find amazing.

so it can be done with a little bit of planning.
