King is Back, Need help with HPS/Hid Shopping

I'm back, while i was gone i made my own strain, crossed the most crystal covered mother i ever saw with a tight bushy dad an came out with what i call "Great White" but now i wanna move up in the micro world so i built a arwoir 3'x2'x6' (LxWxH). i lined it with a 2in thick foam insulator for sound steath an heat sig. so my next step is to order my light an nutes which im going with fox farms soil an all organic nutes, but im unsure if i should get a 600w hps or 400w hps. i dont think ill have problems with heat from a 400w but will lack in yeild bc of less penitration but a 600w might be unmanigable with the amount of heat output. any suggestions on which to go with will be appreated. an im still gonna be doing CFLs in the cab i was using before but now it will house two mothers an clones.

in the summer heat wave id say the 600 is to much as you said....

id go with the 400 cmh

yup, 400 will give you plenty of heat as it is. also, that foam insulation will make the box very hard to cool.

im gonna get an aircooled hood with its own intake/exust. then a blower with a carbon filter for the arwoir with a small fan to circulate more air, an a passive intake

how do you plan to hang the air cooled hood i grew in a C25 style wardrobe cab for while had 400w hps inside it. dems 47.75 L 20.50 D 70.3/8 T i modded a stanely house blower fan http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=29341
1 downfall with this mod i find after 40 days flower i can smell my garden just outside front door to house not good. i'm changing to this fan http://www.nationalgardenwholesale....S&title=Fans / Blowers / Ducting&type=product the 465 cfm model iwll be perfect currently my stanely is cooling 400w hps in cooltube and 400w mh in air cooled hood. dose ok but the air intake where the speed control and 2 elect plug ins are sucks un scrubbed air from garden. depending where you live how hot summers get how cool you keep your home, a 600w hps could be run in your cab long as you can keep the erea cool. i live in the desert so i run my flower erea at night 6pm - 6am during the heat of the day lights out in flower veg run 6am - 12 midnight and 420w CFL's are used. currently my duel 400's are in a closet 5ft x 7ft x 8ft only half the floor space is being used day outside temps 110 inside 75 closet lights on 85. temps not bad could be better when i upgrade to 465cfm fan i'll have lower temps

May I offer another option...2-250w CMH. My reasoning is that you are getting more watts per square foot than the 400w and less heat than 600w's. The smaller footprint of the 250 will cover the two foot depth well and, widthwise, overlap about a foot in the middle of the canopy, compensating for the the diffused light on the edges of either bulb footprint, and you can get them closer to the canopy than the 400. Although temp control will be a concern (but doable), it would be even more so with a 600w bulb.

im gonna use the high riase pulley system an just use extra ducting so i can move it up an down as the plants grow

im gonna stick with HPS for a while the whole thing of CMH bulbs exploding is a big consurn
