Are your friends plants and your plants in the same grow room?
I'm guessing air-flow, or the lack thereof more likely.

change from RO to plain tap water bubbled then get back to me.
This has happened before to another grower here just a few weeks ago, look for the thread in organics forum and see if the plants look the same.

I'm going to go with overwatering stress on this one...

If you think you're overwatering, you are overwatering... It's a common mistake but easy to fix!

Do your plants look like sickly miniature versions of what they should be???

Do you mix perlite with the FFOF???

Please try to post some pics Prof. Also go to the Cannabis Infirmary.
I promise that not only will you learn something, you'll probably be able to solve your problems there.

FF is too rich to start seedlings in even if you add perlite, plain peat and a handfull of EWC will do wonders for clones and seedlings.
Plus the RO can compound problems as it buffers soil ph less and it make nutirents more available, RO water has a low ppm count thus it has a high potential for dissolving soil elements and getting them in suspension, this leads to ph swings and nutrient imbalance.
Someone mentioned overwatering, it's hard top overwater with 30% perlite added to you mix, wait until the topsiol dries before watering.

well this is what came to mind as soon as i saw that you were using R/O water. i think i also read the same thread in teh organics section since i grow organic and use FF: OF/LW together. i love the stuff and would swear by it anyday.

change up that water, just bubble it for 24hrs/ pH it to 5.5 -6.0 (check it first you may not have to pH correct at all) and dont forget to FEED WITH MOLASSES 1 TBLSP PER GALLON EVERY WATERING!!!

things should look better in no time

Not to disagree with Frank but I don't use molasses other than in teas and even at that I'm running at 1tsp per gallon, the long standing 1-2TBS per gallon is too rich IMO.

Ph'ing your H2O is also a waste of time :joint:

Well Suby, I'm gonna have to disagree with you on this one. If I were to follow this advice my plants would die. My tap water simply has too much calcium in it. If I use it, with LC's mix no less, I get all kinds of lockout issues.

Water quality is everything.

I like 50% r/o and 50% tap bubbled of course for at least 24hrs.
The girls really like melted snow or rain the best.

Everyone's water is different, your looking for a ppm count between 200-400 and ph 6ish, it's pretty easy to make the opposite mistake and use water that's too hard and compound the problem by using dolomite so yeah mixing is a good way to go.

its only after i add a lil vinegar does it begin to even register!! gotta ph, i already calleed the water comapny about it, but hey, they always said the water in my area is crap for drinking.
