then i read about the "emaxx chassis" but every component for it seems to be hundreds of dollars.

i was hoping to fit the body from mine onto a chassis that would be insane....and i dont know if that means ill have a gas engine or a would it still be electric????

Ok yukon sorry i didnt see this earlier, the chassis pictured is a traxxas Emaxx( basically a monster truck with electric motors(dual)). Traxxas is an awesome company based in the USA that makes awesome trucks, back in the early 90's they came out with a 2wd buggy that kicked ass but now a days they are mostly awd heavy duty trucks and yes they are very expensive. These vehicles are "pro" kits that come mostly assembled and require other components to complete like a radio, servos, motor, battery and charger. You are probably looking for a RTR kit(ready to run) they come with everything you need to go, unfortunately they come with entry level gear and usually break with moderate to heavy usage.
Firstly you have to decide your price range and from there i can look for something you might like, i can definitely point you to the traxxas web site or www.towerhobbies.com. The youtube videos shows a rock crawler probably powered by lithium ion batteries and dual brushless motors(the latest technology producing sick power) but are very expensive. The you tube chassis looks to me like a Tamiya truck of some sort, but ive been out of the game for a while now so there could be a buncha different companies out now.
I used to race 1/10th scale off road nitro trucks, and electric 4wd buggies(ill post some shots as soon as i find them in my huge gallery). I stopped racing my trucks a couple of years ago but up untill then i was racing competitively since i was 13 yrs old so almost 15 yrs now, i admit its expensive as fuck but once you have the basic components(radio, servo's, charger, and batteries) the rest is really not that expensive usually the cost of a kit. You will get what you pay for, but i think a ready to run kit is what you will find suits you and if you get serious you can always upgrade to lit ion batts, and brushless motors...

The shell should be interchange-able, the kits im used to building come with a clear lexan shell that i would mask up and paint, theres alotta companies that make awesome bodies(one such company is HPI) id make sure to get a kit that fits most manufacturers. I hope this helps you a little, let me know if you have any more questions id be happy to help any way i can!

My real passion what i love to do is race this style of truck on an motocross style off road track of course to scale...i would consistently place top three never had any real sponsors. I love the sport its just so damn expensive...its all about tires, tires, tires and motors!! you go thru a motors piston and sleeve every 4 or 5 months with heavy racing...again this truck was built by hand, i painted that body myself that truck was a beast to drive not the fastest...but it stayed shell side up and could soak up the meanest bumps in stride!! suspension work was always my pet peeve id always had the cleanest shock oil!!!

hell yeah thanks nycd!...that helps alot so far!

like i said im new to this, but if i get into anything i get into it!

did u peep my thread about the battery...its almost too late to matter as it only has a cpl hrs to go.

i dont really wanna go fast, but i wanna do rawk crawling, ...so if that helps any to point me in a direction.

by trade i do body work on cars and shit and i used to make custom models, so the exterior is no problem, but i'm clueless on the mechanics of RC shit.

thanks for the help bro!
