~~SOG Madness....With Fluro's!!!Must Read,Exclusive~!!!!!

Ok...so Im planning on ordering this exact Fluro system from HTG Supply...High OutPut T-5!!! it has 10,000 lumens!!And its only 110w with only 2 bulbs !!So i know it's a pretty decent fluro fixture...I wanna grow some Nirvana beans..but Im confused about something...lets say I flower under this system(with the 3000k bulbs),will my yield be depressingly small??meaning will my yields be enough for personal smoke,considering I smoke a small joint or two every day...I plan on growing in coco,with decent fertilizers,and a big yielding strain...kinda like a Micro SOG...so how many people have actually flowered with fluro's??How is the bud??All input is very appreciated.

Keep in mind that this will only be temporary,as I plan on moving up to a 600W HPS when the funds permit...but for now I want to do my first grow with this light system only...with maybe a few CFL thrown in to supplement it!!Ima thorw in maybe 8-10 plant under this light,flowered from clones while theyr still small...how many grams should I expect from each plant..I was thinkin' maybe 5-10 grams from each plant??

I know..before I was planning on doin' a 400w grow...but then I gotta buy all the fans,vents,etc..and my budget is very limited..besides it will be my first official grow,and I just want an ounce or so of home grown...then Ill maybe switch to a 150w HPS..who knows??So is it possible to get a somewhat decent yield with Fluros??

You can get the HGT supply 400w ballast/bulb/hood for 120$ and thats 60something thousand lumens compared to the furos that have 1000k

I know that a 400W or 600W is a million times better..but I dont wanna deal with installing and connecting all the fans,ducting,scrubber,etc..I wanna keep it VERY simply..so will this light yeild well??Im also lookin' into LED ATM..theyr very cheap too..

I would never have believed you could grow a completely mature plant with great yeilds under T5's....

Until I got to know my man K. Check out this thread if you haven't come across it yet...especially the more recent harvest shots. I guaran-gawd-damned-tee you'll be impressed by T-5 grows!

you could grow a couple plants. keep them short because your light penetration is not the greatest on them.

You could definitely grow some decent bud with those - if you have green fingers then I'm sure you could be smoking more than 1g/day of your own harvest.
SCROG comes to mind but also a nice SOG with a strain that doesn't stretch too much could get interesting.

your light looks ok, ive watched some T5 grows there not bad. youll get a bit of personal smoke just dont expect the world.

heres my t5 grow-bagseed-6 light3 red 3 blue-covers a 2x2 area my closet is 2x3.they are 3-4 weeks old.1st pic is whn i transplanted 2nd is 7 days later









ok maybe out of order there all really compact-even sativa dominant.cups b transplntd today and flowring in 2-3 days.i was thinkin of adding 2 65 cfls one on each side .ya ll think it wouldmake much diff. yield wise?

Yea..Ima definitely keep em' very small,with just a single cola in each plant...besides isnt a good SOG strain SUPPOSED to stretch,considering the veg time is almost non existant?...Ima maybe have those big party cups as pots...and Ima fit like 15 under this light?What yiou think..Am I passin' the limit?!!And yeah Ima prolly throw in some CFL in there..like 5 55W CFLs....straight??Wish me Luck...I hope my Micro SOG goes well!!

Yeah.but I dont have the time/funds/experience to do a big grow..I just wanna do a micro grow with this Fluro light and some CFL's....just to get a few grams...

i just looked at that link wal mart sells t-5 2 foot 2 lamp holders for 12$ and they have the tubes too but i suggest you invest in some horticultral bulbs if you were willing to spend 60+ shipping on those you can get about 3 or 4 of those from wal mar with bulbs for a total of 8 tubes much more light

Ive been hearing about all these cheap lights from Wallmart,Home Depot etc....How good are these lights for growing plants?Cus the one I wanna order have an ultra blue temp of 6400K....and a flowering of 3000K(or something...)But Im thinking of going to Home Depot one of these days,and spendin' some time in the light/electrical section...

Sure ya can get enough bud just to smoke with those bulbs. This 1 plant was grown with bulbs from walmart About $22 total. You could just pick up a few more if you want to get a bigger yield. I usually grow with hps but was using this for clones and just left this one in there to flower. The smoke tastes great and does the job.
