Foe, thanks for the info.
Let us know how DrA's NL grow out.

There are few in my group who are unwell and I picked DrA's beans up hoping for their aches and pains. :/
good body stone, good taste, non anxious, easy to grow plant. Wont get to popping mine until the fall time so Id love to see your grow when you do it.

cheers

I remember growing the seed bank NL back in the 80's. Prior to that it was always bag seed growouts. The NL I grew out was dark green, short and bushy and performed well under HID lamps. Pretty decent smoke as well.

I got some free beans with a recent order(I forget which seedbank)from G13Labs(?),that say they are Northern Lights. It says F1Hybrid,80%Indica with Afghani/Skunk#1/Haze genetics.
I grew these out. All got infested by mites(never had that problem)and one grew VERY tall with nice looking buds but the leaves went yellow,to dead and yellow-spotted plus lightly infested with mites. One was a male, another got completely infested and the other is the leafiest plant I've ever seen. You can barely see the buds. I only got 5 beans and these were the results.
I was suspicious of the info genetic-wise,had never heard of the company but they WERE free so........you get what ya pay for!

in the uk we have something called "the blues" all the boys who know the score say its NL...this cut is the same age as cheese....it was dicovered by uk growers round 15 years ago.....maybe this the the berry NL

Northern Lights 2 X 5 from The Seed Bank was very bushy and resinous with a strong juniper berry smell. A truly remarkable hybrid not offered by anyone.

sounds like the blues to me

Sounds like an exact description of a pheno of NL#5xHaze pheno i stumbled across, trichs smelled like musty berry (possibly Juniper, not sure), smelled foul when growing - like public toilet, really disgusting, in the jars it was a mixture of sour baby sick type smell with that berry aroma in the background, crazy resin on that pheno as well, probably the most indica leaning, shortest pheno i've seen or smoke from NL#5xHaze which gave you an uplifting, really happy buzz

its funny everyone thinks nl5 x haze smells of baby sick. ..

the blues does not smell of baby sick....strait berry with a heavy taste....i have to say tho,ive only ever had that exeptional overpowering taste from haze hybrids..

A few years back a friend of mines step dad had and grew NL#1 it was amazing this was at least 4 years ago. In the end his grow got busted, and his life took a turn for the worst, 2 years ago he overdosed on herion. But the NL#1 still comes around from time to time, i haven't seen it in about a year now. He gave another guy who i dont know someclones and set him up. And his ex wife who is now addicted to crack used to come in contact with the guy and get some for me but she fucked him over i heard. But last time it did i found a seed to bad i lost it.

I grew 1 seed of Nirvana Northern Lights, don't know which variety it was... (anyone know) it was a definite pine smell. The high was so good that many of my friends I smoked it with said that it was laced....

This is one of the true classic strains. NL has been popular for decades and for a good reason. It's an extremely fast growing and high yielding plant. Add to that the fact its very potent with a delicious sativa-indica high and you have a perfect plant for anyone's garden. This is a must for growers who prefer short bushy plants. The buds have an extremely frosted resinous appearance, and the yield is high. It has a high calyx to leaf ratio giving large buds. Hint: Use light soil when growing. Growth rate of up to 3" per day. 100% Stable. For the last couple of years the Northern Lights has dominated the various Harvest Festivals. Through selective breeding success has been made in producing one of the most powerful plants in the world. compact, powerful with a good yield and exceptional resin production. It has been called the most lucrative plant for the indoor grower. This particular variety of Northern Lights is a blend of several NL's. It has been selectively inbred to bring out the best qualities of all the subvarieties.

Indoor flowering: 8 weeks

I was offerd nl seed in the mid 90s i belive from my cussen who got them from an out door grower that grew commercial amounts and it looked so nice very lite green with silver tone but being a sativa head and you could call me an indica snob basicly sed thanks but no thanks.

The smoke was very potent infact it just had to much couch lock for me why i sed no odly i was told it grew quiet large and was more sat to an indica in its looks growing out doors the line was inbreed for x amount of years in 2002 after i started to relise the value of indicas i tryed to get hold of it and long story short could not i wish i new what vertion of nl it was all i know is it was erly neviles nl.

Hiya bart good to see you does that NL tend to stretch once it starts to flower or does it stay shortand bushy i think NL is a clasic like sk and haze.

Hey gentz...NL's are worth the hunt an theres a few variations....get to know them and they will all treat you well Im sure...
We just ran another NL that I feel may have been the DrAtomics as it looked very much like all the views Ive seen on his..Its way sweeter and I'd say Thai not Haze..Slender Blades but short stocky form and very very sweet smell n taste and no spice or Pine at all..It wasnt grown to the best it coulda been so Im waiting on more grows to judge effects..

Notice the very sharp elongated Tips on the Foliage on BlackBarts..this is what I look for in the fingers beside a very Hash like form and Kush build..Ive found a mate for the NL#5 I keep in Ortega HP...and its already as good as done for me...least I;ll know shortly after testing out the f-gens as my goal is a ultimate Hash Plant..
