Lookin' Good VT...been awhile since I posted...always lurkin'. Great show as always...educational and fun....what more can ya ask for.

Deep Chunk is some good smoke all the way around from what I've read....good breeding material too. I have a few DC beans left to pop after I try and find a Blueberry mom.

What's up JC!!
Yea...I gotta give Deep Chunk a run....purple and finishes in 50 days????
I gotta get you and bounty29 to get with the program, lol...shit, I want some DeepChunk :D
Last run with GDP...only 'cause I just lost about 8 cuts I had in stasis letting the yogurt cup dry our...FUCK! I just pruned her too...cannot do it again...I may take one or two before bloom, and pray they root...

I got 2 seedlings going bro.... LAPK x BKS (from aeric)...it reminds me of LAPK...I just got Blue Haze's Bubba Kush cut...it is identical to the LAPK I had... nute sensitive....and sloooooow....LAPK was a lil' faster in veg, maybe
Just tossed aeric's SDv3 x SDv3 in the jar....
Let's keep in touch :D

Coco bubble cloner experiment

Coco bubble cloner experiment

Best way to get hydro roots is to, uhm... hydro clone :smoke:
I clone in coco (used to do it rockwool until i got pests and went "inside")
....gonna experiment with a variation of the "rockwool bubble cloner" MTF-Sandman turned me on to....see if it's faster than the tray/dome
I clone in 100% coco...this is the "coco bubble cloner"
In this case...saturated, soaking wet fine grade coco...
let's see what happens

Airpump

Aeration/OxygeNATION (this is important)
The solution is a mix of The Original Pure Blend Bloom & Bti

I used Air filter material to pad the netcups and hold the coco in place
To prevent algal bloom I "lightproofed" the bubbler

Nice little cloner!

With most of my strains...purple stems indicate deficiencies, or lockout...red stems are a sign of overfert (or too much Cal/Mag)....green petioles are the goal....

I've always thought that purple stems = not enough nitrogen, so that would be underfeeding.....Maybe I was wrong this whole time, but I always fed my girls more if they look purple and they usually green right up. Got any thoughts VT?? PEACE

***Definition of nutrient deficiency:
"The lack of one or more mineral nutrients, which prevents optimum growth."

~~~------------------------------------------------------------~~~~
This lack of (in your experience N--can also be indicative of other issues, which I'll get into--can be due to underfeeding) nutrient you refer to is what I call nutrient deficiency
Yes. I posted them already :biglaugh: And it sounds like we were somewhat in agreement, except you listed a specific nutrient, Nitrogen (N)
Et Al
Now...the lockout part is important. Because if a new grower has lockout (from less than optimal pH), and they whack their crop with more nutes...they will fuck up their entire garden.... believe 'dat.
I saw it in DWC...new growers advised to ramp up nutes...then they'd fry their plants. See...when "lockedout"...plants will look deficient--because they are...nutrient(s) are not available to the plant--a new grower make make the mistake of compounding the issue by burning the locked out plants, lol
An imbalance of immobile nutrients can lockout N....I just say "lockout", for lack of advanced knowledge and proficiency on the subject
Folks, always check other variables before you burn the plants
Severe overfert will lockout plants also...you can spike up the PPM's and lockout the roots, leading to reverse osmosis (yellowing...the plants are losing nutrient...and look "hungry")...someone new could compound this by adding more nutes
So, Caligreen, in short...I agree with your post, but failed to discern any disconnect from the premise of mine
:D
Yea swampskunk...the bubblegum smelling one finishes the fastest...the ones that smell like oranges take much longer...even the bubblegum pheno...I took mine down early....I thought you tagged that thread??? Lol...I'm sure Chimera may have been put off by my candid remarks regarding finish time :D Thanks for the feedback....
Remember when you and I were talking about Deep Chunk earlier, swampskunk? I found a killer thread from The Slickster
I never knew Deep Chunk got purple and finished in 50 days.
:D Authored by The Slickster:
Deep Chunk Grow Log
yeah, i had followed that thread, and it was the reason i waited as long as i did to pop those beans... pretty much it had gotten down to either growing out a couple calizahr or going with some cheapo seeds while i waited on my order...
it's been over 40 days, the one looks like it's finally starting to pack on some weight but the other doesn't even look half finished. i have plenty to smoke and i'll try to let them go until ready, but i seriously doubt i'll have the patience to wait more than 10 weeks or so.
and yea i've seen some awesome pics of deep chunk grows, it's a fast finisher and puts out some unique flowers. checking out that thread now.
I'm happy for Chimera...we needed a growshow in there...
Next month I'm gonna order some Chimera world class gear, get a pH meter, and do another show in there...in coco...
the last one was part coco...part DWC
how is the variation of the netpot bubble cloner working?? sandman was skeptical when i had him build the first one, after that he was hooked.....i have cloned many ways and find it to be the easiest for me....
also wanted to let you know that four of my mtf clones have roots!!!!!getting ready to repot and take initial clones off of deepchunk, afghani and mj x karen....things are getting busy in the grow room again, i just love it!!!
i am hoping to get better pain control with the new line up, a little color never hurt either!!!i should be able to get to the camera now that family medical problem under control, maybe i will be able to post pics by then......
suby, you have come a very long way since our days at og.....lol
strain count eight, waiting on roots for ninth......
Gonna cut my losses
Gonna cut my losses
And go to transition. I have a couple plants that really need more veg time--due to the pH issue I had--but, I am gonna just move on. I've got enough cuts from the plants that are staying to move on.
Thanks for the visit, folks :wave:
Thanks for that T-dub shot Caligreen!! (feel free to post your also--or any other shots you'd like to share) Keep 'em comin' bro....your buddy is doing a great job! :yes: I have two TW bushes--but have only pictured the hand watered one in the 5 gal bag. The other is 20" tall, and 18" wide--3 gal root zone.
Here she is--next to MTF
MTF on the left--20" tall, multi-top TW bush on the right
When MTF was transported before this run, ^^^ she had some damage to her air roots--roots at the surface--some tore...look how strong the few hanging on got--looks like a snake, lol --MTF-Sandman posted--in the "MTF thread"-- about how you turned him onto that, mtf-shaman:joint: >>>I need some air stones--I've been using rain drip tees(ghetto ass :biglaugh:); and I still think I'll have some roots--at some point.....................peace
High buzzed day--They were all foliar fed before this photo op--I foliar feed heavily during transition, thanks to Rosy Cheeks :D :wave:
Blockhead "wet closeup"
Hope ya stick around for the flowers RealSupreme, thanks :rasta:
GDP (in the front) & Blockhead (in the corner)
--They both get purple--
Yo,Xtra!! :D Thanks!! :wave:
Appreciate the visit--here's the C13 next to the TW big girl--C13 is 20" tall, and about 13" wide
That TW bush is elevated to get some side lighting to tame stretch
she'll drop down later--point being, the C13 is bigger than it appears :wave:
C13 up close
CNS17 1/2 tsp/gal
Occasional slice of Sweet 1/2 tsp/gal
Silica Blast every other watering or so 1/2 tsp/gal
SM-90 @ 1/2 tsp/gal ('cept when I dose with Bti....which is once a week or so)
I flush once a week with Clearex 30 ml/gal
Later in this show, we'll put some PBP hydro organic into action
Here's what burning seedlings leads to...reverse osmosis and locking out the
gotta love those thickburgers! LOL!
