The seedlings are just passing the two week mark, so have not fed them yet. Will start them on weak nutes next week. I have had good luck with fish emulsion with all sorts of plants in the past, but will be adding Schultz 10-15-10, and Superthrive as I copy the recipe DrBudGreengenes posted on his thread...

Nutes everytime I water...
Each Gallon of water contains....
4-drop SuperThrive
4-droppers full Schultz 10-15-10
1-Tbsp. Fish Emushtion 5-1-1

Water comes from the tap at a steady 5.8ph. No idea about ppm, but its grown all kinds of plants from tomatoes to orchids, so not going to worry about it unless the plants start complaining.

My light is a salvaged 150HPS, and I have a few 42W CFL I can add to the mix later on if I need to.

The UVB=THC argument makes sense to me....(See below if interested, the video from marijuana man is most informative.)

Google UVB and THC

I picked up a couple of Reptile lights CFL at the pet store, and will be blasting them 30 min at a time 3-4 times during the light cycle. It can't hurt, and I have seen a lot of anecdotal evidence around that it really dankifies your plants.

Vegging at 18/6 for now, waiting until they get a bit taller so that I can clone and then start flowering for sex.

The kindest cut:

Two of the seedlings are strong and about 1" bigger in both directions. The other two look the same, and are a bit more dense with tighter nodes. Have read that male seedlings tend to be larger, so perhaps looking at a matched set of two boys and two girls.

Took off the top of the two big ones today. They did not seem to mind in the least. No wilt or sign of stress some 6 hours later.

Rigged up one warm white 42w cfl to create a mother/clone box. Worried that the temps in my flowering room are too cold for reliable clone rooting. The temp has been pretty stable at 60-66F, but think that might be asking a bit much from the clones.

With one CFL, the box is a toasty 80F...Cloned into Perlite/Vermiculite with nothing but water and a drop of superthrive. "Take Root" powder from Wall Mart used as the rooting compound.

I was worried that the small pop bottle containers would dry out very quickly and require a lot of attention. But that last round, they went 5 days without needing a drink! Going to take off for a long weekend and let the babies do their own thing.

See how they are when I return... :muahaha:

Lookin good Hempy
Got home last night and all is well in the garden. Think I need to take less care of the garden LOL
How many times have you tried cloning??
going to try it myself next week any sugestions?
Hope mine look as good as yours

All plants now topped and into the clone box. Other then the leaf in the foreground which I fried on the light, they look happy to me. No signs of stress really from the topping, was a bit surprised at that. Was expecting wilt and some visible distress for a few days.

Only 3-4" cuttings from plants that had vegged for several months outdoors. I put them in a bubble cloner and had a good success ratio. Trying the DrBud method this time, so put cuttings into perlite/vermiculite medium with water and 1 drop of superthrive.

So far they seem to love it.....a little too much in fact. Clone #1 was wilting a bit this am, (top left) and upon inspection it has grown large enough that the ends of the fan leaves were lifting the bottom of the cutting out of the medium! Snipped off the ends of the leaves, and replaced. Hoping that the high humidity under the dome kept the end from sealing off, but we shall see. May be my first casualty.

Day 23 of veg.

The seedlings have responded well to topping. Never any signs of wilt or stress, and the new shoots are popping out of the nodes right on schedule. #1 & #2 are a few days behind #3 and #4. They got their first taste of nutes today. Been 4 days since watering, and the soil was just staring to be a bit dry.

The clones are 5 days into the perlite, and all except poor #1 have started reaching for the light. I will wait a few more days, then peek to see how the roots are coming along. After the clipping, clone #1 perked up an bit, so it may pull through after all. :jump:

Made up the pots for the clones, and gave them a dose of water and molasses. Will give them some time to cook. There should be plenty of microbes alive and kicking when the clones go in.

Keep and eye on the cuts they will start to "Grow" from the center....and you will see some roots in the bottom if ya look....by the time you see a root or 2 they will have a nice lil' root system and ya' can scoop it out.....
That will give you a fast growing clone. :jump:

If ya' take them out after ya' see new growth....But B4 ya see roots in the bottom they will have a lil' root system and will "Stall" for about 2-3 day B4 growing.(sometimes that can be usefull)
:rasta:

Went away for the weekend, and came back to a failed exhaust fan, and a hot box of unhappy plants. :fsu:

Watered the seedlings, and as you can see, a few days later they are uncurling their leaves and coming back to life.

The first set of leaves got a bit crispy and dry, but the new growth actually looked fine. The clones however were cooked but good in their little greenhouse. So took a second round of clones this morning. The two shoots that came off the initial topping are 2 inches tall, with multiple nodes so they should be a lot more hardy then the little tops I had in the clone box before.

So, a frustrating setback, but feeling lucky that none of the seedlings were lost. Waiting for the new clones to root now. :cuss:

My 2nd round of clones are looking healthy and the center nodes are starting to grow again on day 3. (Seems very quick, is that possible?) :chin:

The seedlings are starting to show their first preflowers, so I am going to gamble that I can keep this batch alive and put the seedlings into flower after 32 days of veg. :jump:

I don't want to top them a third time as I am afraid the bush factor would get a bit extreme. If these clones die, I will just start a new batch from seed.

The preflowers are too small and immature to sex yet, but I seem to have two sets of twins amongst the seedlings. Seedling #1 & #2 are leggy and "reach" with their leaves. They have been taller and more airy since sprouting.

Seedlings #3 and #4 are really dense and bushy with tight nodes and a dense canopy. Very little stretch or "reaching" as new leaves grow out.

So the $64,000 question is...On day 32 of veg, with two sets of twins, am I looking at two males, two females...or just two different phenotypes?

What is your guess?

That's how I clone. DrBud stole my method. Love it. Are you also the one that uses some solar in your setup? love the growing... Just stopping by...

Thanks!

I have only grown outside up until this year. This is my first indoor attempt, and have learned more about the plant in the last month then I could have imagined. The outside grows were bagseed and were done in the "benign neglect" style. Had some success, some failure and never knew if it was the genetics or the grower :bashhead:

Trying to do it "right" this time.

Getting ready to start building some clones for my outdoor op, so the solar grow is on the horizon!

The seedlings are 5 days into flower, and are bushing out big time. No signs of sex yet, there are some wispy pre-flowers, but they are not developed enough to tell.

The two sets of twins maintain their character. Two short and dense, two taller and more airy. On the first set, the leaves look for sativa dominate, the others more indica. The shorties might be great for the micro SOG if they stay short and tight noded.

The clones started to show some yellow today, so transplanted them into soil. The clone box is now pretty full with little nippers! :headbange

No soil break on the SuperBud seeds that I germed on 4/20 (@4:20, natch)
:smoweed:
I expect they they will pop in another day or two.

"SUPERBUD 30% Indica - 70% Sativa
# Indoor/Outdoor

Super Bud has the vigour of a race horse, a yield that will blow the socks off any grower and a super sativa buzz of the highest caliber that is powerful & long lasting. This strain is a fast grower and ends with stem-breaking sized colas of some of the best connoisseur bud.

Super Bud ladies produce MASSIVE amounts of THC-rich amber resin - the highest of any strain. Strong berry/fruit smell and taste. Unparalleled sativa high!"

They will be my outdoor strain this year.
