Rhizotonic tips

B

bonecarver_OG

to me rhizotonic seems to work much more effective aplied in the nute water and sprayed on the leafs in veg.

any one else tried it?

i use 1 part distilled water to 2 parts tap water. to one liter of spraying water i put 4 ml of rhizotonic - i spray after the light is switched of and i leave the circulating vents off for about 2-3 hours.

peace all :D

Good thread !!

It makes the pH go up when i add to nutrients , anybody else get this ? haven t used it enough to say if i notice a big difference in root formation though .

Canna website mentions it works best used at low ec levels .

What is the purpose behind mixing your tap water with distilled?

Rhizotonic will take your pH up a lot if you bubble the mixture with an airstone.

airstones allways seem to make the ph go up :)

i mix the tap water with distilled water to have lower ec. also - if u use tapwater only - there might be a risk of an accumulacion of lime etc on the leafs. i like to keep the water pure.

mixing with RO water is a good choise too

peace.

Then why not use all distilled or RO?

Is it a matter of cost? or do you have other concerns?

I have to use all RO or rainwater off the galvanized steel roof for my garden. The tap (drilled well) water here is unfit for human consumption from all the minerals, so I definitely won't give my plants any of it. I was figuring it out the other day that water is the most expensive part of my grow at over $40 per month, when I have to buy it all. :badday:

We drilled a new well on our retirement property last summer. It produces 15 gallons per minute of pure sweet H2O...the plants will love it...

...4 more years to retirement....and counting. :woohoo:

it actually says on the bottleto use on leafs untill a healthy root system has developed - so i just started using ONLY rhizotonic sprayed on the clone leafs (that i dont cut down at all) and i got rooted clones in 5-6 days.. so i thought after a while to apply same in veg :D it works real well :D

and its way cheaper than using it in the nute water :D peace :D

Dang. Really? :bashhead: No wonder I am always fighting to keep my ph stable.... shucks. :badday:

I guess I cannot really say that the rhizo raises ppms cause I cannot tell

But the oxygenated nute solution is crip though....

Rhizo is awesome stuff! i have roots bursting out the top of the pot and ther just seedlings! works better then any other rooting stim ive used! thanks for the awesome info Carver!

true true!

I prefer spraying it at 4ml/l after ca 4 days from cutting clones. I usually have them rooted within the week then and seldom have any deficient leaves on the cuttings. (Guess the higher pH may combat ptential molds on cuttings leaf surface too)

-As my tap water is very soft and clean from start I actually ned a bit of Rhizotonic in my nute tank to keep it stable. (If I mix according to the canna calculator I am usually all fine, without using much pH-adjusters.)

I find direct application to the roots always produces clearly superior results compared to foliage application.

I find that it takes the pH way up, especially in a low-EC mix or plain water (as recommended).

Since I've switched from Root Accelerator to Rhizo I've noticed my vegging plants have grown bigger and more vibrant. Canna is kind of impressing me...

I use it at both roots and foliage, but at four days after being cut from the mother plant I have no roots to feed it to so I spray then.

I've never really done a "side-by-side" w/ Rhizotonic as far as cloning goes, but yeah I almost always give my cuts a mist of Rhizotonic solution (4mL/L) on the day that they get cut. The only times they don't get it is when I've run out.

I probably use Rhizotonic a bit too much in veg, but I absolutely love the stuff. Just wish it was cheaper, and lasted longer on the shelf.

To be more specific about my previous post, the one time I tried foliar-only application (in an attempt to come up with a cheaper solution), it didn't produce near the results that medium-only application did.

Is that a yes? :chin:

I'm curious because I've been eyeing the H&G line for a little bit now, after testimonies from some fellow respected members here...

Root Accelerator? You mean House & Garden's Roots Excelurator?

Yes, sir. I was noticing my ph levels were very unstable and I was trying to figure out why. Earlier in this thread bone mentioned that airstones always seem to make the ph go up.... I have used airstoned before and not had the ph problem, so I got to searching. Texas Kid helped me out.

Apparently House and Garden Products are not created for use with airstone & pumps. http://www.house-garden.us/roots excel report.pdf

"This may have serious consequences for the stability of the nutrients (pH and EC values)".

Since I was already using Canna's coco A/B, & PK13/14, I figuered I'd just use the other Canna supplements. The crop that is growing with the Rhizo & Canazym (replaced H&G Multizyme) seems bigger & healthier... very noticably.
And the ph in my 40g reserviors are stable.

ANyhow, sorry for the confusion downtown.ALoha!
