Running 5 strains this bloomshow

Running 5 strains this bloomshow

No worries, buzzed day...I wasn't rankled...just unsure what you meant initially (that's why I said "if you're insinuating")...so I tried to elaborate with unequivocal clarity (mostly for the benefit of lurkers)....thanks, though...we're still pals....I'm sorry if my response was offensive

Having problems with GDP and "rust spots" on the tips....may have to isolate her for a handwater as she needs stronger nutes...in the past an increase in Cal/Mag+ solves this problem (purple petioles, "rusty" tips)....we'll check back in on her (GDP), I think the high ph burn is what led to this....different plants react differently to it (high pH) btw

the Blockhead and MTF were both in bloom when I tore down and relocated before this run started...both are revegging...and recovering from pH burn....they have been though a bit of stress...I always look at new growth to determine if I am on the right track....
I clear it up by feeding daily at low PPM's.....and lowering pH

Got a PM (thanks ) asking me for the link to Canna's article that describes their recommended procedure for checking pH in coco....I made a post in another thread, and a lurker has some interest in an article I referenced (without the link)

It's a pdf article titled:

"Everything you always wanted to know about Coco"

http://www.canna-uk.com/images/stories/canna_downloads/IP_COCO_UK.pdf

Great article, in my opinion

Glad that thread popped up as I am coming out of a pH issue...gave me a chance to help some folks....focus on your new growth to determine if you've made the right adjustments....good luck

Good lookin work VT!!! Love the TW, I am running a cut of her as well, my cut is looks to be indica dominant, but can stretch 2x it's size when put into flower. She can finish at day 47 and is awesome smoke, I will be taking her til at least 55 in my box. The smell is weird but so good, cant hardly describe it....Rock hard nugs though, the leaves of your cut look the same as mine. I notice the edges of my TW fans are serrated in a different way than I have ever seen and it reminds me of your fan leave edges......

I don't think mine is the arcata, but damn its close and what a great cross of TW it is. But you seem to have the arcata huh? Shit looks bomb! Does any of what I said about my TW seem like yours??? Thanks bro, once again your plants are looking great bro, nice bushes! PEACE

I didn't know you were running Trainwreck too....Yours looks a LOT like mine (and OP's)....and I have the Arcata...and you obviously do as well...
yep...she can come down anywhere between 49-63 days (Old Peculiar likes it at 70 days)...those pics I posted earlier (the blasts from the past) were day 45 shots, I believe..

I have LST'd her, topped, and doing a Christmas tree (not in size...but not topped) style...I think I'm gonna stop topping my bushes....I get better coverage that way...
Thanks for posting those TW shots here, Caligreen....you did a great job....is that your first round with T-dub???? Very nice!

Thanks VT!!! Man I think it is arcata somtimes, but the smell isn't like most trainwrecks I have had although it is exactly how OP told me he smells it I smell it like this too lol

if it smells like a mentholated dead whale carcass soaked in gas with a little lemon and skunk thrown in, it's the wreck . oldpeculiar

Those bud shots were of a buddies coco grow the same nutrients as mine as well as light. It was his first time growing her, and he did a good job. Those shots were at 47 and look so much like yours!!! I am running her now and have a sick ass little girl with 6 tops trained like a bitch, she is strong and going to yield very well in my 6" sqaures. I can't wait!!!

So is your TW bush there in flower?? Looks like a thick stalk, my girl gained thickness and O WOW how her warts grew larger than any I have seen. Ya know the warts connecting the stalk to inner nodes...FAT. lol anyways take care bro!!! PEACE

Mine smells like lemon fuel...that's the best way I can describe it...like lemon pine fuel....I never have gotten any from a dispensary that had this strong smell....another distinctive attribute is the "silver/grey" look of the buds...I was able to captivate it well in one of my pics (some of this comes down to photography when comparing online, really)...anyways, it's unique to T-dub....no other plants (and I have flowered a few different strains) resemble TW in late flower
That 19" girl (probably 21" or more by now) I pictured is vegging still...she'll get flipped at about 36" tall....and probably finish at 4.5 ' The bigger she is when flipped...the less she stretches (I have a vertical light for sidelighting...no horizontal lighting).....she stretches more in heat than in cool temps also...the only Indica I see in her is the fast finish...cause she does veg fairly fast and stretches 2x (unless flipped big and in cool temps)
Her fan leaves look Sativa to me (thin...skinny...long fingers)....I'm already up to 11 fingers now.....I think most folks bloom her with 7 fingers.....in the past I never vegged her long enough....Milly Blunt's post in Chimera's forum a couple years ago clued me in on that....I agree with his premise in that post

peace

Hey VT, i think ive read most of this thread, over the past year+ :) , nice work. I just wanted to highlight something you said earlier, and i did not see a real response too it.

I think you questioned adding 'that much sulfur', or something similar, and i just wanted to point out that The product Sweet, is basically a sugar cane and Epsom salt, diluted liquid product. epsom salt = Magnesium Sulfate. Sulfur is not a problem, you will most likely lock something out with too much Mg, before the S would become a problem

I thought earlier in your grow, you were using blackstrap and epsom salt, and then switched. Personally, my journey has been the opposite, I just picked up some grandma's blackstrap, and a 4lb bag of Epsom Salt. total retail value $6

Im too high to remember if you dropped the sweet from the lineup, they claim there are amino acids, etc etc, but they claim to add that stuff to the entire PBP line, and LK.

I was wondering if you have ever tried the PBP Bloom Soil formulation?
I use (1tsp=5ml)
10ml/Gal PBPB Soil (1.5 -4 -5) 42 49 116 14 28
5ml/Gal Cal Mag Plus (2-0-0) 27 0 0 16 43
5mlGal Hydroplex Hydro formulation (0.5-4-10) 8 28 131 8 0
77-77-257-38-71
I dont know if that will end up being too much K, but as for right now, my buds are swelling like ive never seen with this pheno. I will also be boosting the Mg with the epsom salt. I just thought id post the info up, in case anyone wanted to comment.

I love the way you list your application rates, it makes thing so much easier for novices to follow, and we were all there at one time. This thread is a great resource for growers, lots of great growers, dropping useful info.

Great topic(s) here, ShroomDr

Great topic(s) here, ShroomDr

...this will be great discourse for new lurkers with a bag of coco and a bottle of PBP on hand :)

High ShroomDr  I'm glad someone noticed that....

yea, Suby was talking about Sulfur deficiencies a few pages ago (for those who are just tuning in...or not reading back)
Suby said:
You need to be careful with the calmag every feeding, go less that 5ml/GAL, I overdid the calmag and you will know right away because you will show signs of sulphur def.
It looks just like N def but alot more red stems and the tops will be too green for it to be N def, it's cause by the over-abundance of calcium, it starts at the lower leaves and goes up.
If it happens I solved it will some Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate) it worked like a charm.
In the past I ran tap water (hard water) with Sweet and NO Cal/Mag+ (I ran Sweet instead)....I never saw Sulfur deficiencies....and remembered the high Sulfur content in Sweet...wondering if that Sulfur content was beneficial in avoiding the Sulfur deficincies Suby alluded to.....
-VT- said:
Ran out of Sweet, but I think the label showed a substantial amount of Sulfur in it, doesn't it?...In the past I never bloomed with Cal/Mag+ (I've documented shows with no Cal/Mag+ at all)...that Sulfur in the Sweet comes to mind....this run I am gonna bloom with Sweet and a tiny bit of Cal/Mag+
I have not given up on the Molasses, still will finish with it....but need to get other things sorted before I try and dial that application in....

Well, in hindsight I will say that my experimentation was inconclusive (an abject failure, lol)...I had thrips, root aphids, fungus gnats, and at one point even ran out of liquid pH tester, then whacked the entire garden with a pH burn...so I have to revisit the use of molasses during Flower....but the esalts are a must when using it....I had Mg deficiencies with molasses alone....I agree with you 100%...you've inspired me to get back on that program, at some point....thanks for sharing your positive results

I used that exact mix last run...but I switched over too late in flower....and ran the Cal/Mag+ too late in flower....

Only difference is I used some kelp....and have never used Hydroplex....

I've always wondered about the Hydroplex...You seem really impressed with the Hydroplex...and I value your input, so I gotta give it a whirl :joint: Texas Kid liked it also...but he was in E/F then....you're the first (to my knowledge) to try it in coco....I know Texas Kid is in coco, but do not know what he did in coco with Hydroplex...
I notice you didn't list any enzyme product....I'm currently using Canna's product...Cannazyme...good stuff :rasta:

Here is my current veg mix per gal:

0 ppm source water
7.5 ml PBP hydro-organic Bloom
7 ml Cal/Mag+ ('cept GDP...GDP gets an extra 3 ml)
2.5 ml The Original Pure Blend (Organic Compost Solution)
8 ml Cannazyme
Every 3 days Bti

That big Trainwreck bush (pictured a couple posts back) currently gets 50% of the above...as I'm taking the handwatering, capillary approach...out of neccesity (and laziness :D)
What a long post!

***On a side note...pursuant to a previous exhange elsewhere...thought I'd dig this out
From the annals of ICMAG coco history, 2-26-06:

For all you hand watering folks remember that just because coco cannot be overwatered it doesn't mean you HAVE to water every day or second day.
Coco is suitable for soil like applications where hand watering occurs every 3-4 days on average.
Watering until some runoff occurs is always good, 25% runoff is a waste just alittle runoff is fine unless you typically overfeed them.
I feed PBPro with calamg @5ml/gallon every 2nd or 3rd watering depending on the growth stage, I used worm casting teas with molasses and some kelp meal as a plain watering between feeding but this is overkill.
You can also feed coco from the bottom up, just fill the saucers under you pots and watch it disappear.

Remember to rinse the initial medium with calmag as this will release the potassium that occupies most of the initial food web, often young clones/seedling start twisting from overly high K until they are big enough to uptake the high K levels and that calcium ans magnesium start binding in the K's place.

I wish I had not deleted all my grow pics and budshots so I can show you the results and to alesser extent the problems that can occur like calcium def for users not feeding with a coco designed nute regiment.
I am not uploiading pics to any server anymore so others will have to fill in with pictures.

Peace
J

they make a hydroplex soil (and coco) formulation. its a 0-12-8. That will be my next bloom booster purchase. at one point i stopped using my current bottle, and started feeding 15ml/Gal PBPBS (I think out of simplicity). My buds definitely look fuller now that im back with 10ml/Gal PBPBS and 5ml/Gal Hplex.

With most of my strains...purple stems indicate deficiencies, or lockout...red stems are a sign of overfert (or too much Cal/Mag)....green petioles are the goal....

Mission accomplished

All the plants look green and healthy...all to do now is prune MTF into a Christmas tree for cuts and offspring...she has very limber (flexible) limbs...so it may be another week....then we're goin' bloomin'

Here's the Trainwreck bush....look at the long lats....I've got 11 finger blades

whats up vt, glad things are going good over your way. i'm having a hell of a time with these calizahr, one of them had way more stretch than i was ready for, and they both look like they're going to take too long to be keepers.

i'm hopeful that the shorter plant starts filling out pretty quick, if the smoke is really good i wouldnt mind 9-10 weeks.. then again, who knows, somehow i doubt i grow calizahr again soon, with dj's flo and LUI waiting in the wings.

High buzzed day  I've found it to be a useful diagnostic tool, in coco. Even if I had meters...I'd still have to read the plants....I mean, how would would I know what EC is too high? How would I know I need to ramp up the EC? How would I know I need to ramp down the EC? How would I know I need to adjust pH? (even with a meter...and meters can malfunction, or be in need of calibration and ya get careless on that)...how?!?! By reading the plants...that's how

Yea swampskunk...the bubblegum smelling one finishes the fastest...the ones that smell like oranges take much longer...even the bubblegum pheno...I took mine down early....I thought you tagged that thread??? Lol...I'm sure Chimera may have been put off by my candid remarks regarding finish time :D Thanks for the feedback....

Remember when you and I were talking about Deep Chunk earlier, swampskunk? I found a killer thread from The Slickster

I never knew Deep Chunk got purple and finished in 50 days.
