Sour Diesel IBL & Friends in soil under 400w

Hey fellow growers!

I wanted to try out some supposedly kickass genetics this round. So the final choice ended up being Sour Diesel IBL from Reservoir Seeds.

I sprouted 10 SD IBL and got 7 healthy looking seedlings which are now on day 14 since sprout. I will also be running some other strains in flower as I don't plan to veg the Sour Diesel IBL into monsters. I don't have too much height in my cabinet, so I basically plan to start out with a bit of LST on the SD IBL's and get them big enough to get a clone from each. Then I'll start flowering when they look like they are ready :joint: Here are the Sour Diesel IBL looking mighty fine:

As mentioned the SD IBL will enjoy some company from some "friends". I have a few "friends" to choose from, which are:

Bubblegum: Don't know the specific breeder, got some seeds from a friend and they are supposedly bubblegum, I germed 2 of these seeds, did this about a month ago and got one male and one female, the male has been discarded and this is the female:

White Satin and Hashberry clones: These are clones from my previous and first indoor grow. I have two different Hashberry and one White Satin clone. My previous grow wasn't the most succesfull, too hot soil and a therefore bit of issues, but they pulled through and deserves to be grown a bit better than previously. So these are the clones, some in better condition than others, but the most tortured of them will recover fast as they have recently been repotted:

Old Outdoor Cross: Well as it says. it's a cross from an outdoor grow i did about 5 years ago, I was just a young kid growing a couple of plants in the garden, didn't know alot about growing, I had grown outdoor two times before and hadn't gotten the males removed early enough, so I got some knocked up girls and the seeds from these crosses were the ones I used in my last grow outdoors. So I haven't got any clue as to what the genetics are, didn't get the original seeds from a bag of weed, but from some guy, only my memory doesn't support me much when it comes to who that guy was :joint:
But that last outdoor grow was really succesfull and especially one of the girls was a real nice producer, packed on some nice dense buds and turned nice purple in the end(well that is probably most due to the colder temps in my climate) but she was definitely different from my other plants, and this plant carried a few of the seeds, which I have managed to germ 3 seeds even though they have been stored in less than ideal conditions. So am hoping to find a nice plant in here:

So right now, I'm just veggin the SD IBL under 110W cool white CFL, and the rest under 54W of flouro tubes in my clone/veg cabinet in the bottom of the closet.
The 110 W CFL will soon be acompanied by another 110WCFL, which they will remain under, until I hook up a 400W HPS for flowering

Hope this will turn into a great show for you guys

Thx for stopping by TheBEAK, REZDOG and RzaWreck!

@TheBEAK: Glad you like the fact that I have some variety, the star of the grow is definitely the Sour Diesel, but yes hopefully it wil be accompanied by some other nice buds. Glad you like my pics, hope they'll only get better from here on.

@REZDOG: Thanks for dropping by, hope I can do your Sour Diesel IBL justice and let them grow to some kickass plants that they definitely have the potential to be.

@RzaWreck: Your SD IBL looks damn sweet, well done. Hopefully I won't abuse her in any way, but definitely wouldn't mind getting me some Sour Diesel bushes.

Haven't got much to update with right now, but hang on out there, will update as soon as I have some progress to display, peace!

Hey guys!

Just a little update, a couple bit more "closedup" pics pf the gem of the grow, the Sour Diesel IBL, this and one more SD were sprouted a couple of days before the others, just to make sure everything was good, and it was and sure still is. The leaves on the SD IBL are allready really nice, thick and robust and, and I can't help smelling it to check up its flavour development, heres a few shots of the little one:

Hey guys, just a little update

The Sour Diesel IBL are getting bigger in a nice tempo, heres a pic from today, quite a bit of growth since the first pics from 5 days ago:

And I have hooked up one more 110W CFL so they can get a bit more sun, well the setup looks less than pretty, but I'm sure the SD's will like a bit more light on them, here's a few pics of their current condition:

Right now the SD's are in 2 liter pots, but in a couple of days they'll be transplanted into 6 liters pots, as this pic from the oldest od the SD IBL shows, I don't think they'll mind getting some more room for root development:

Well that was it for now, peace!

Man I love those larger CFL's they've got now. I have a 150w Ecoplus 6500k and that thing rocks. Talk about tight internode spacing :joint:

Yeah FunkBomb, I couldn't agree with you more, these larger CFL's seems to promote a nice short internode spacing, but I haven't got much to compare them with, but I definitely like them alot, glad you're enjoying them too. The only disadvantage for me using them is that I have to work a bit on my setup when changing lights from HPS and CFL. I have a 400w Lumatek electronic ballast for my 400W HPS, so I use this ballast and go for a 400w MH in veg, but I think that would be exscessive for my cabinet.

@The_Selecta, yeah ain't it always good with a bit of root porn, when you haven't yet got bud porn to enjoy, stick around and hopefully the bud porn will take over :yummy:

On a little sidenote, my Old Outdoor Cross, I still have 3 of these that sprouted, they sprouted at the same day, but only one of them had a fresh first set of leaves when sprouting, the other two more or less were stagnant for about 14 days, had nothing but their cotyledons. But after about 14 days they started shooting leaves, though the one of them is still just a little runt.

So the oldest/biggest of them has shown male preflowers and the second biggest has also begun showing preflowers, still a bit too early for me to be sure, but I fear that this is also a male. So might just be the smallest runt left in hope of a lady. Too bad if this shows male too, well, will just have to see.

peace out

A little update.

Yesterday I repotted the Sour Diesels into 6 liters pots and I started a bit of LST on them, here's a few shots of some of them from today:

Nothing much more to add other than damn I'm loving the Sour Diesell IBL so far, nice and robust leaves and stems, hoping they'll respond well to a bit of LST.

Hey guys, updating in progress

Everythings looking good, still got some LST going on for the Sour Diesel IBL, here they are:

And here's a few close up:

There's plenty of fresh shoots and I'll take some clones from them soon. I'm also keeping an eye out for any sign of preflowers, but haven't yet seen any.
I'm thinking there might not be much more than a week til I'll start flowering them, but I might wait a bit til I can spot preflowers and veg them a bit more because I'm really tempted of some big lady bushes in flowering. Well I'm not sure yet, but I'll keep you guys updated.

Peace!

Hey guys

@Indica-420, a big velcome to you  , lurk all you want and feel free to bring any input or questions, hope this will turn in to a nice show.

@TheBEAK, Yeah I hope they'll turn into some big bushes in width. I really can't wait to see them under 12/12 either, but I think I'll have to wait switching the lights to 12/12 until they have shown preflowers and I got nothing but female bushes left to flower, cause right now I'm really tempted to let them veg a bit longer than I had first "planned". I'm hoping my LST turns out as good as yours, nice job buddy.

peace!

Hey!
A little update. The Sour Diesel IBL's are the gem of the grow, but just wanted to update a bit on the others I plan to flower with them.

My so called Old Outdoor Cross have all showed sex, I think I got a bit of info messed up earlier, but the final count on these 3 seeds germed was 2 ladies and one male. The biggest of them is female and the smallest of them, which is still just a little runt, is female.

Here's some pics of the biggest lady of the Old Outdoor Cross:

This one was recently topped and is standing in a 6 liter pot under the CFL's together with the Sour Diesels, but I have just tied her shoots a bit down because they were getting to tall.

Here's a pic of the male from the cross, imo it looks quite sativa and first off the biggest ladys leaves didn't much resemble the males, but I'm beginning to see more resemblance. This male has been discarded, but just wanted to show it because I thought it looked nice and sativish and that is what I'm hoping to find in the ladies, a nice sativa, just hopefully not some that take way too long time to flower, well here it is(was):

Not much to add about my clones from White Satin and Hashberry, they're doing fine and if I decide to bring them along when flowering the Sour Diesel IBL's they will get better care, but right now they're just on a low maintenance level, here's a pic from a week ago of the worst looking of them, all better now:

And the one bubblegum I have is also not getting much care, looking fine but could really soon use some more soil, but she doing quite fine considering she's only in a 2 liter pot still, just waiting for her permission to come up to higher level of care, also a week old this pic:

So thats it for the "others" for now, peace!

Hey!

It's been a while since I updated, so here we go. Not much have changed, the 7 Sour Diesels are still beneath my two 110w CFL's, as I decided to let them stay in veg until I'm able to see preflowers and determine their sex. The preflowers has started showing, but still not developed enough for me to be sure yet, so I'm guessing in a week or so I will know what I get. And it would really be good to soon find out which is what cause they're getting BIG, and would soon like some more sun.

Here's some pics from today:

A few shots of them all:

They've really filled out beneath the CFL, I think they're doing really well considered they're still only getting about 25 watt of CFL each, here's a few of them beneath the CFL's:

And last, but not least; a few shots of some of the indivuals:

They really doesn't smell anything like they were in veg, the odour hits you fresh in the face when opening the cabinet, dank ass smell, promising :)

They're in neutral soil, low EC standard quality potting soil mixed with perlite, and still to this day they haven't had one feeding. I have been watering with half RO/half tap with an EC of 0.5-0.6. I've added a half tsb/gallon of epsom salt twice, but don't think they craved it, just observed minor spots on the lower leaves on one of them, and I have also twice given them a little dosage of molasses just to see if I they liked it. Anyways, the point is, still no ferts, but they don't look like they need anything.

I can't wait to see how many ladies I get, I'm not greedy, 3 ladies and I'm a happy camper.

Well enough yapping from me, hope you guys enjoyed the update.
