Can Cops Smoke Pot Freely While Investigating?

There used to be a saying that if someone smoked with you, they weren't a cop.

Now I've read a few things here that change my perception of this.

Is it true that cops can smoke weed with people they are investigating?

Yes they can smoke weed to bust you. They can and will lie to you and if asked if they are a cop can say no and still bust you. They can and will do what ever to bust you. :fsu:

more than one cop draws full pay because they became addicted to crack and heroine while working undercover. They are encouraged to do everything they can not to use, but their are times their lives could be in danger if they didnt, or if it meant the difference between a buy and not. Living that lifestyle makes it easier for them to use.

Im not sure asking for ID is going to save you. Most undercovers have fake identities including id's

I can tell you for a FACT, any undercover/leo/agent can use and buy any form of narcotics (in fact if they use any narcotics they receive hazard pay which is about x2.5 thier normal pay) in order to build a case.

So dont rely on that old 70s shit. "If they smoke they cant be a cop".

I have seen undercovers arrest smokers ON DEALING CHARGES at concerts for simply handing an undercover officer a joint, regardless of the size or weight.A friend of mine met some guy at a bar and the guy asked him if he wanted to go smoke some"weed". So they go back to my friends house, at which time I arrive on the scene. I come in to find them both smoking. However, im completly sober, unlike my friend, at which time I start notice really odd shit about this person. Such things like, he can barely work a waterpipe despite his constant "stoner"-esque rambling of old smoking stories. He was ripping the very tops off of colas to use, fumbling, and just basically acting like someone who wasnt used to smoking. So i ask the friend to come in other room and we start to discuss my suspicions where they were frankly disregarded due to over-alcohol consumption. So I had a beer and shot the shit with the guy for a while (i didnt want to up and take off and make him supsicious if he was a officer) and denied any offer of smoking with him.

After about thirty minuts of this going on my suspicions were all too confirmed when theres a knock on the door and its the local PD. "supposbly" their were "several" complaints of the smell of marijauna. which is bullshit because there are only a few neighbors around and most of them smoked or didnt care that we smoked and would certainly never call it in. anyways they barge in the house due to PC and start asking whos gotthe weed and whos selling it,etc etc. They find about 15-20 grams of herb and a $30 digital scale. They arrest my friend for possession with intent to sale. and they "arrest" the stranger from the bar. however he goes in a seperate vehicle (surely to be let off at his crown vic back at the station) and my friend is hauled off. They let me go because I told them I dont smoke marijuana and Iv only had one beer. so after several sobriety tests they decide to let me off. luckly for me the stranger hadnt seen my car so i decided to walk to the bus stop and leave my car for fear theyd find the half ounce of my cannalope haze full melt and deicide to arrest me for conspiracy to smoke an officer to death with full melt :muahaha:

But to be real the situation is fucked up and nobody that smokes weed should ever go to jail where they house violent offenders. another friend of mine was sentanced to four years after multiple DUIs and he was just some chill cat that liked to smoke some weed and have a few drinks. i saw him just recently and he was telling me all kinds of shit that happend. now instead of being "rehabilitated" he looks liek he ready to go rob a bank cause nobody gona hire him..

Be careful. this world is full of evil. but if you walk the path of the righteous you have nothing to fear but fear it self.

Smoking weed and drunk driving are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Nobody should go to jail for smoking weed, and the punishments for drunk driving aren't harsh enough.

I agree.

People with multiple DUI's have issues. It usually means they continue to drive after their license is suspended and dont give a rats ass about me, or my family while driving down the road

I just heard a PSA a few hours ago saying hour smoking "weed" impairs your judgement three times worst than alcohol when driving... :bashhead: :bashhead:

look at their shoes, you can always tell and undercover by their shoes...well that was the rule of thumb in ghettos and on GD or Phish lot, usualy worked too. Your best bet is to just not deal with anyone, if you need to move weight one person should be able to take it all and you should know/trust them. If your selling small amounts you shouldn't be growing two do not mix, or feed them so BS info about a big sale, stash house etc and see if they go for the bait.

the story tenfeetofganja told is one reason (many other reasons too) i avoid bars.

cops go in bars undercover all the time.

i would rather drink & smoke at home.

If only there were a failsafe way of asking if someone was working for LEO, I guess there wouldn't be undercover cops anymore!

I guess you could ask "so whats it like working for the man" and read the response for nervousness.

I disagree about feeding a story. It just gives them a reason to try to bust you more because then they can use the charge to roll ya on someone higher or give up the story/location/time on the sale or stash house.

It seems the best thing to do is just not talk to people you don't really really know about any of your growing or business.

The DEA losers that worked on Marc Emerys case visited his business, and let him smoke them up huuuge - all the time beggin' him to ship them some weed. They got majorly high from his supply, several times.

He is a chronic machine (I know, I've smoked with him), and any leos that sat and sessioned with him musta had world class thc skills.

Oh, and Verite - leos don't pay for their weed. They "confiscate" it, then steal it and smoke it.

EXACTLY

If you're gonna sell, sell it to someone you now would never roll over and fuck you. I got friends that gotten popped on the way home for a traffic violation and ended up getting busted with weed. I even went and picked up my homies dog while he sat in the back of the car one night. That was a weird call, this is officer ???, can you come pick up ??? dog, we have arrested him on I-??? and he said you were a good enough friend to get out of bed at 2am and come get his dog. Talk about feeling bad for someone and scared as hell the whole ride there.

Ya'll be careful out there and be smart kids.

Peace

While I agree that drunk = busted, there are a lot of ways you could be exposed to a security risk w/o being drunk or at a bar.

Prime example--close friend you trust brings over a friend he trusts and ya'll smoke.

Problem is, your close friend doesn't have the risks you do.

Actually, I'd say this risk exposure happens anytime you whip out primo homegrown at a bonfire, friend's house, etc. You don't have to say anything, but you do that twice in one year and people start talking.

And saying don't ever share goes against the reasons people grow in the first place.

I used to think, hey, if they're partying down with everyone, its cool; but obviously that's flawed--just wanted to see your responses.

What about shrooms? I only ask b/c I've done shrooms with the only people I've gifted MJ, and I thought that was a good litmus test.

There's gotta be a line that LEO won't cross, yes? Or am I just totally naive?

Let me put it another way...is the worry of LEO infiltrating your personal circle unfounded if you only hook very close friends up and only grow an ounce or less a month--and always party with that crew?

I was working at a friends dispensary for a couple weeks. One day two really suspicous looking 25-40yo males. After calling their doctor (who responded very quickly) I had suspicion it was setup. So we RESEARChED the doctor and found noting. so we didnt let them in. on the way out one of the cops says someting like "damn its almost 420" (like that must be stoner code to mean hes chill :bashhead: ) as leaving he dropped his wallet. he picks it up and continues out the door and i said "YOUR DROPPED YOUR BADGE" and he turned around real quick searching the ground with his eyes only to hear me laug and say "YOUR BUSTED" :jump:

it was funy. i tink we still get it on camera...i sould upload it to U-TuBE.

First off, there is no line that LEO can't/wont cross, they can and do use heroin, crack and cocaine. There are many LEO's still being paid today that became addicted to one of these drugs while on the job and as a result are no longer able to work.

Whether or not they can infiltrate your network of friends depends on your friends. I'd like to think that anyone that you consider a close personal friend is smart enough to be careful about who they associate with and even more careful about who they bring round for smoke sessions.
