Yeah, to clarify....just really tired, lot on plate, and, on a different note, and, of use to anyone who wants to go larger.....

It's a long term commitment...

You have things to do? Too bad......you started it, now follow through and do what has to be done...

I know what such a commitment carries with it, and, don't undertake without fully knowing and understanding what lies ahead (hours, work, time, schedules)....all of which may, or may not be something previously addressed....

Supplies? Prep? Sites? and all that comes with it are easy to read on paper......

The commitment you make when putting plan into play and full force is something that can't be altered or changed....Now...some will say "well, you do a lot of no maintenance, what's the problem?"....

I worked last season virtually every day in some way, shape, or form from April 1-whenever was finished.......

Planted May,June,July,August, and, when not planting the large, planting city, and when not planting city, planting other smaller partner deals here and there....

Then was stocking, accumulating far, far before that start date, then went right from planting into harvest.........almost the same week (Maroc started coming in Early August, followed by Purple Power, then leading into everything else......then leading into trimming, etc....)

My hesitation lies more in the amount of work I know lies ahead, and, do I really want to again , so soon, with really no significant amount of rest...The smaller I can put off unti July if I like (start end of May or mid June and still be fine....but, large one is much more to be done.......outdoor isn't the big part when compared to setting up indoor locations from scratch....

Anyway, thought I'd share that and something for people to think about...everything is really nothing....but, starting the ball rolling...executing.......well, it develops a momentum of it's own which is sometimes hard to keep up with.....

sounds better, i was getting confused as to which op was carrying what.. sometimes you go from one thing right into the next.. hard for me to follow where your still at when your talking sometimes.. you jump from scene to scene then back to previous scene.. it just takes a min. for me or have to go back and read it over.. probably my reading comprehension skills..

You mean the first thing, the second thing, or the other thing with the guy? (First guy and the thing, or second guy and the other thing?.....) :smoke:

Get with the program man, I couldn't possibly be more detailed and specific.

...I think there's a pic above linked somewhere of 500 in a 40" x 40" spot, so, people who claim no room...well.....if you don't have a sq. meter to dedicate, then, yes, probably out of reach...(personally, I find 500 a sq. meter about as economical (use of space) as is possible....)

Wow. At first I thought you must have meant 40 FEET by 40 FEET. Then, I saw you clearly mention 500 plants in one square meter, so you did indeed mean inches, not feet. That sounds like a lot of plant density. 500 plants in 1600 square inches. That is about three square inches per plant. Draw a box, 2 inches by an inch and a half, now picture a plant in there. I guess you have already seen that. I often start seedlings in that size space. Sometimes I place cuts that close together when I root them. I can't imagine plants finishing that small. It would be a lot of work, but at least it would be stealthy. You couldn't even see it with the naked eye. lol

hey julian, still planning this years outdoor and was wondering how you deal with mold when they are fresh chopped in the trash bags? im kinda scared theyre gonna mold after 4-6 hours of sitting in there. what do you think?

Addressed earlier. The heat that is created and given off when bagged really has to be seen by those (felt) by those who never have, but, the options really are limited (right back to outdoor hang :smoke:). You could do various things (box) but still applies. You could use bags that allow for airflow, but, then your right back to scent issues. I've dealt with multiple hour trips often, so, am no stranger. Really nothing you can do except bag as close to leaving as possible, and, of course, get that shit outta there the minute one gets back....ie: Don't leave it sitting there while hanging.....get it out of there...anything...throw newspapers down, dump all out, set up fans, anything.Temps also help a little......I remember times when weather was favorable (cooler temps), and it did help....a lot....

You can put less into bags (I'll fill the biggest till almost can't be lifted...those contractor bags mentioned earlier are far, far over like 30-40 gallon sizes)....crosses over onto other aspects (such as the hang, such as varying strains, varying finish times, etc) The more one does, the more you search for anything that will help lighten the load and make it easier.

(Of course if many hours to return, issue is security.....)

When hotter it's a valid concern.

Note:
(The bold indicating how uppity I get about subject :biglaugh:)

Herein also lies the importance (similar to the hang) of screening what you cut.

I have done, been directly, and indirectly involved with more multi hour trips than I could even estimate, and, let me be very clear: If you do not screen it, and you toss things with mold into those bags, pack em up, and drive 3-6hrs with the bags generating heat well into the 100+ degree range, there is a very good chance the entire batch will be fucked.

(my one partner threw a thermometer in a bag when we got bag, don't remember what it was...but, remember something most wouldn't believe).

I've seen it first hand.....I've opened and dumped entire packed hefties loaded with the most beautiful shit (when cut and bagged), only to label it "garbage" and write it off (dry and to bubble).

Same as the hang.....you don't go through and screen, and you hang with mold?.....it's done. For the newer grower, might be a more fine and lengthy process to screen, but, considering the risk is not only that plant, but everything else that touches it, well worth the time...

(I have had issues before with people not paying close enough attention, or not wanting to toss something that has been contaminated........the result? You contaminate it all....

Believe me...it's as hard for me as anyone else to write off beautiful rock hard shit that's been hit, but, the above is the alternative....you want to take that small loss?, or lose it all? (A subject that gets me uppity/pissed off.....I know one rather sizable batch lost this past season due to mold being tossed in with nice stuff..was total loss....have had it happen occasionally over the years, but, yeah, several times when entire batches ruined over others inability to screen and make a proper judgment....(if an issue, if you have some, you bag it separate for bubble, and , furthermore, when back, you keep it in different areas than the clean stuff.....(can just let it dry quick.....drying asap will stop it/stop it from getting worse....)

How I explain it to people: Imagine the mold is dust..:smoke: (spores).....if you toss a 24" cola into a bag with 200 other colas, that "dust"(spores) will of course, then fall onto, and in, everything in that bag.....ie: imagine throwing a gram of fine powder on the top of a full hefty....close it up, transport, then dump out......the entire bag would be covered...virtually everything in that bag would be contaminated.....and, most outdoor growers know (more than indoor growers by far), how fast that shit spreads...

Anyway....my stance above. I (obviously :biglaugh:) am fanatical about it...and have had losses due to those who did not understand, despite being told the above 100 times.....(Actually, the amount of resistance I have encountered on this one issue from people (partners, helpers, etc) would not be believed........)

The Wire

E8/#58 is ondemand as of last night.

Only 2 left (9-10), and, without a doubt, being set up the be the absolute greatest thing ever written.

(I've watched for 5 seasons, and, have never been as affected as E8.......really fucked with my head :biglaugh:)

(No spoilers because I know lot of people not to it, and a lot of people still going through 1-4 also)........

E8........left me speechless......E9-E10?..........I think will be a fitting end to the greatest work ever to air....(ie: Imagine if Soprano's actually did something with the last season :biglaugh:...)

Okay, back to business.......

Was just having a conversation with someone regarding planting, timing, locations, sun, exposure, etc......

This is where science differs from practice....

My favorite shot from this season.. Sunny?, looks that way, also looks like half shaded. Surrounding vegetation?, well, easy to see this was in a pretty tight clearing. Sun?............about half the day....late morning to mid afternoon maybe.....Good prep, drilled holes, hit extremely heavy with nutes.....(not topped and they stretched far too much.....)

Here ya go.

Ideal is nice.........but less than ideal works also, fairly well. (The above, and the surrounding was one of highest yielding spots.......didn't get the most sun......had a lot of rain and storm damage due to heights and weights of those in that area........)

But, it worked...

People tend to assume far too much.......this is the gap between science and practice............ie: real life application......That single spot would have been far, far more than enough for most people...(I have no idea, but, if pressed, would say that spot ranged from 1/2 on small ones to up to 3 on the largest ones....don't have solid figures....I don't do that....so.......but, maybe 2.5-3 on largest ones.....rock solid for the most part.....

What you can, when you can, how you can, where you can........

As earlier...too many people get hung up on their dream spots.....and pass by 50 others that would give them what they want...

I myself would love to grow endless numbers......prep holes exactly how I wanted.......have the perfect exposure......have everything...well, just right.....

But, bringing in what I need and want will do...:smoke:

Yes, variables to each location, blah,blah,blah......

Point still stands.

The target is to bring them in.....(thinking..looking around.....Where's my green calculator......:smoke:..) My calculator says every p brought in is worth 10 that aren't....:smoke:

Good example, shows what can be done where

I think I'm actually starting to get this thread, been running into a few headaches, ALL MY FAULT, (one of the best things this thread offered, ie, well if something happens, you know about it, but dont really DO anything about it, no one to blame but self)

Thought I had a partner, instead I got someone who wants a freeride, decided to cut him, then thought about, 'standing alone', wanted to keep him, he garners more respect (why i dont know, he can be a puss for sure) anyway, 'feeling aint right', even after some addressing conversations

Thought I had a spot (already prepped, but partner couldnt even dig, just dig, very safe, very near, but said, too hard, need this, etc, tried telling him a 'final date' idk how many times, anything dug there yet? no) got backups for minis of course now, but still...

Thought I had 200 cuttings, but knowingly let the temps hit <70 every night, and saw humidity @ 20-40 and failed to act, watering issues, just not disciplined

anyway, I'm debating to put plants ('round 2' cuttings and moms)out now, kinda too cold, but i got my electric cut off, and will have no lights/venting for 4 full days

I am learning still....I think we learn far more from mistakes than successes, I hope it sticks, and without more unnecessary 'lessons'

I also found aother sppot i like alot, but there were a ton of 'marker' sized holes around??? maybe 30-50, looked like maybe old mini harvest spots, tried pulling up other vegetation around to see if it left similar marks, and nope, but could only get about half my hand into a hole, so not sure how....anyway

yeah, the wire, to busy, to broke, but really anxious to sit down at maybe end of season and burn some really good herb to it...

Thanks. I thought so :smoke:....
I think I'm actually starting to get this thread, been running into a few headaches, ALL MY FAULT, (one of the best things this thread offered, ie, well if something happens, you know about it, but dont really DO anything about it, no one to blame but self)
Yep, happens to the best of us.....:smoke:....I'm having quite a wonderful partner(s) week myself...(oozing vicious sarcasm :smoke:)....
Thought I had a partner, instead I got someone who wants a freeride, decided to cut him, then thought about, 'standing alone', wanted to keep him, he garners more respect (why i dont know, he can be a puss for sure) anyway, 'feeling aint right', even after some addressing conversations
So, then you try again.....I'm assuming your the primary behind the actually growing and knowledge.....

Everyone wants a free ride...none of us like to work hard (well, some...I do....I enjoy it....I take it as a "test" of my own self....pushing limits, etc....)

If it doesn't feel right, then it's not.

(I have low opinions of partnerships this week, but colored by events....It is always what it is: The ones that work make up for the ones that don't.....)
Thought I had a spot (already prepped, but partner couldnt even dig, just dig, very safe, very near, but said, too hard, need this, etc, tried telling him a 'final date' idk how many times, anything dug there yet? no) got backups for minis of course now, but still...
How precious......sounds familiar :biglaugh:......I assume that means you'll have to do it, and that means even less for him to actually do....bringing to the table....probably nothing......

I'm a workaholic....a true fanatic.....so, that kind of shit pisses me off....you do what you gotta do no matter what....then?....then you rest and have fun :smoke: (or, they can have fun, I'll work more on other stuff :smoke::biglaugh:.....)

What about a drill (auger) for his lazy ass (still a lot of work though...especially if ground is hard......but, maybe you should check different spots around those to see if it's softer also in some areas in same location......)
Thought I had 200 cuttings, but knowingly let the temps hit <70 every night, and saw humidity @ 20-40 and failed to act, watering issues, just not disciplined
You know...there are so few things in life that have to be.....

So few...........just little things here and there......

Why aren't people able to just do them....this stuff just pisses me off....(reason: Bet he's talked about a new car, or something regarding the money from the finish...........fuckin people......)

I want........instead of I will.........
anyway, I'm debating to put plants ('round 2' cuttings and moms)out now, kinda too cold, but i got my electric cut off, and will have no lights/venting for 4 full days
Well, sounds like a case of the above........You know you shouldn't put them out, you know it's too cold...Don't make a mistake like that.....(I assume your somewhere south to be talking like that....2.5 more months till okay for me to get anything out......)
I am learning still....I think we learn far more from mistakes than successes, I hope it sticks, and without more unnecessary 'lessons'
Well, some learn from neither, so, your already ahead of the game my friend :smoke:...but, I'm sorry, there is no end in life to unnecessary lessons :smoke:...(WTF can ya do, ya know? :biglaugh:.....)

Sounds like you had a week like mine :smoke:....(one of those "God I fuckin hate people" weeks :biglaugh:...)

You know man.......most things a minor occurrence in whole scheme of things, so....I try to turn such things into ensuring it never happens again...which sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't....:smoke:...
Use best judgment.....firm on spots....(You always know what a spot is in the back of your mind.....a hesitation is usually a no...with anything in life........)
yeah, the wire, to busy, to broke, but really anxious to sit down at maybe end of season and burn some really good herb to it...

Why wait till end of season:

The Wire-Season 5-Episodes 1 through 8

Monday 9 should be up, and next Monday, finale, 10 should be up.......You will find Season 5 to be a confirmation that it is, indeed, the greatest media work ever produced. (Just don't give out any fuckin spoilers :smoke:....)

Recent Simon story/quote:
The show's creators are willing to kill off major characters, so that viewers cannot assume that a given character will survive simply because of a starring role or popularity among fans. In response to a question on why a certain character had to die, David Simon said, "We are not selling hope, or audience gratification, or cheap victories with this show. The Wire is making an argument about what institutions—bureaucracies, criminal enterprises, the cultures of addiction, raw capitalism even—do to individuals. It is not designed purely as an entertainment. It is, I'm afraid, a somewhat angry show".

I don't know if I would call it "angry". I think most first time watchers are shocked at just how raw it is, but, that's only because of how real it is. I love the writers for the above........They're not making fluff....You can't get closer to reality, and, I think no other work ever has...

I'd say new viewers though should start with Season 1, as it is ongoing..characters from season 1 and all storylines build, etc....4-5 would give away too much that one would not know in 1-2-3, etc.

Anyway. It's almost over, so, little more to say other than I already have.

So, then you try again.....I'm assuming your the primary behind the actually growing and knowledge.....

right, couple years of research, few small grows, not even enough for year PS, he helps water when out, carry dirt, ya know, doesnt even understand 12/12 unless I remind him

What about a drill (auger) for his lazy ass (still a lot of work though...especially if ground is hard......but, maybe you should check different spots around those to see if it's softer also in some areas in same location......)

Well, HE should check areas around, not hard, guy not busy really, , actually, just remembered I actually dug a like 6x12 bed some time back in that same area, didnt want to use, b/c of shade...well, looking at your pic above I might still use

none of us like to work hard (well, some...I do....I enjoy it....I take it as a "test" of my own self....pushing limits, etc....)

Yeah, I can be lazy, but I also like to see, what if and what can be, how tough am I really, if put under this and that...

Why aren't people able to just do them....this stuff just pisses me off....(reason: Bet he's talked about a new car, or something regarding the money from the finish...........fuckin people......)

I want........instead of I will.........

Nope, thats my mistake, realized after first roundcuts, (and to credit, wasnt sure HOW moist to be, but when saw how DRY they got, knew I let it go to far unchecked), havent talked much about what I want, but I think now we've 'checked' my presumptions

You know, I've kinda thought of it as motivation, calling cloning trays by their potential money ("damn, i forgot to pick up water, I cant let 10k slip away just like that")... kinda F'd up, not like me normally, kinda prefer the idea, "hey man, these things are depedning on you for life bro"

yeah, next time I start to think, well, I want....I'll try to go back and say, I will....I appreciate that, fan of the 'will to power' philosophy, just sometimes forgot what it means to me (we have the power to make our heaven here on earth, and anything we do to pursue that, whatever power is necessary, is good, my take anyway, will to 'bring into reality'

Well, sounds like a case of the above........You know you shouldn't put them out, you know it's too cold...Don't make a mistake like that.....(I assume your somewhere south to be talking like that....2.5 more months till okay for me to get anything out......)

Hmm, yeah I see, sure, I'm south, could easily do in 1 month

Monday 9 should be up, and next Monday, finale, 10 should be up.......You will find Season 5 to be a confirmation that it is, indeed, the greatest media work ever produced. (Just don't give out any fuckin spoilers ....)

Hmm, coming from a music artist who also seems full of solid wisdom, I really cant fucking wait to see it, but also kinda why i want to wait til I can burn some really good and long joints too :joint:

little peace of mind right still, stuck on your old quote 'its only after we love everything that we are free to do anything'....im fighting this, hard lol....dont want to lose what little i got, and in current situation, losing everything, would be everything except that very remaining freedom....

I figured. (Almost always is like that :smoke:..)
Well, HE should check areas around, not hard, guy not busy really, , actually, just remembered I actually dug a like 6x12 bed some time back in that same area, didnt want to use, b/c of shade...well, looking at your pic above I might still use
Well, as above and elsewhere.....full sun is ideal, but, then you get what accompanied full sun....ie: More heat, more evaporation, increased diet, etc...depending on spot, can get brutal...(Some of my city spots in August are nothing short of hell.......truly....no ground cover, rocks and surface heats up so even at midnight radiant heat might still be over 100, etc.....which, again, affects it across the board....(diet, feeding, etc)...Depends on strain also...Your still going to get something from a spot that not is idea....(and, in many cases, a little more than something...pic above good example......those were done early, drilled, prepped, May planted at about 1ft of so, and, surrounding trees well over 50'.......so, (like at the bottom of a bowl...literally....)

You use everything you can....every little bit counts...:smoke:...
Yeah, I can be lazy, but I also like to see, what if and what can be, how tough am I really, if put under this and that...
Well, you can take it one further and totally eliminate "can't"..."maybe"...."if" from all thoughts :smoke:

I think all that leads into why some hold any significant numbers at a different level.......(work ethic.......drive...energy.....different vocabulary :smoke:......)

Funny story......:smoke: (true)
I have a guy right now beginning training....indoor experience.....sog, so, higher numbers but not large wattage. Has never done out, but, I've gone through a lot of things with him, explained some things, shown some pics, discussed a little here and there, and, he has been exposed to dry, bubble runs, etc.....

Point is, going to be in on next one. Okay. 3,000. 5,000?...he raised an eyebrow, but, that was all :smoke:.......that was all.....

Frankly, I told him stop and read (previous run) to get an idea of future, process, pics, aspects, etc, but, point being....he hasn't already programmed himself what can, and can't be done...

We went through that earlier once or twice.......500? "Ohhhh, that's impossible, you can't do that", etc, we see it all the time. Links and overview earlier. Done.

Anyway, point being anything and everything we want to do, we think we might do, we wish to do, etc......it's all up to you what you can do.

I mean, sure man, I fuckin break down in exhaustion just like anyone else, but, jobs got to be done.....so, collapse, drink something, eat something, back to work :biglaugh:....it is what it is and, I think more should remind themselves it's only once a year....wtf, ya know?....I mean, some hours here, some hours there, couple days here, couple days there...anyway you break it down, average person is still probably at $500 an hour....:smoke:....so....another example.....Whose gonna complain what they have to do at 400 an hour :smoke: (might be a low estimate for many also....can get a lot of work done in a full hour......)

Human mind man........most powerful force on earth.......:smoke:...
Nope, thats my mistake, realized after first roundcuts, (and to credit, wasnt sure HOW moist to be, but when saw how DRY they got, knew I let it go to far unchecked), havent talked much about what I want, but I think now we've 'checked' my presumptions
Well, let's look at it another angle also (because we always have to be fair....) If the guy doesn't know.....it's up to you to teach him....to see what he does understand, what he doesn't, and, when he doesn't, explain further, or, see what he doesn't understand and explain in a different way so that he does..(I know, lot of the time people will say they understand something when they don't.......they might be embarassed, etc, etc, but, you can usually gauge from their answers and responses whether they are just saying it, or they do.....

You know man, have to do your part also...have to make him understand, have to make sure everything addressed. (also helps if he understands your more knowledgeable and he should listen....lot of people have a problem with taking the lead or following....I've had problems in those.......50/50 ops...but, I mean, someones got to take the lead sometimes.....ie: a company with 10 executives never functions.....

Then again, you have people who just take nothing serious (I'm one :biglaugh:) but, you know what I mean...as far as realizing what is important, what has to be, why, etc, etc......I guess my exposure to that is with people and mold (ie: They don't realize how fuckin serious even minor amounts can be.......etc)
Well, honestly? (and fuck whatever people say about that view btw :smoke:)

Whatever works....(kinda like religion :biglaugh:.......) Whatever works, whatever view and approach makes a difference, but, I'd agree with the above....for those who frown on selling :biglaugh:, one could use the view of "this will get me, and friends, and family through an entire month....

Just make sure to always estimate yields on low end :smoke:, and your always good....don't want to be disappointed :smoke:....

But, frankly (and, I just had this problem with someone...) your right....

We've all heard partner horror stories......the above...10k? Would they flush 10k in 100's down the toilet?....would they toss 10k onto a fire?........fuckkkkkkkkkk no, and, these matters no different. What's the different between blowing something that wiull bring in 10, and tossing 10 out the window of moving car?...None if you ask me.....

But that's jmo.(and obviously yours :smoke:...)
yeah, next time I start to think, well, I want....I'll try to go back and say, I will....I appreciate that, fan of the 'will to power' philosophy, just sometimes forgot what it means to me (we have the power to make our heaven here on earth, and anything we do to pursue that, whatever power is necessary, is good, my take anyway, will to 'bring into reality'
It's true though man.......hard to program yourself like that.....I know man...no stranger to bad times, believe me, so, that's where mine comes from.....just gotta keep pushin, ya know?....keep moving forward....and do whatever it takes.....

(See, all of these things are intertwined.......:smoke:....)

You can do whatever you want man....anyone who says you can't is merely stating that they can't....(life would be much simpler if they learned the difference, wouldn't it? :smoke:.....god forbid though anyone would ever say that :smoke:....)
Hmm, yeah I see, sure, I'm south, could easily do in 1 month
Well, do when you should man....don't blow it because you feel you have to or should get them out earlier....alter everything so that everything is good and stay on target.....we talkin earlier rounds here? (March-May?....)
Hmm, coming from a music artist who also seems full of solid wisdom, I really cant fucking wait to see it, but also kinda why i want to wait til I can burn some really good and long joints too :joint:
I gotcha...and, kind of you to say. I attended PITAU ya know :biglaugh:

Yeah......it's amazing....you'll like it....

(Frankly, you should bring it down (download) and check it out, because sounds like you need a break brother :smoke:...helps when a lot on your mind (once again, I took that class :biglaugh:......sometimes man, need to focus different unrelated direction to clear the mind......)
