A lesson in Karma

Well, where did it all start? I suppose I could say it start the summer before last when thru the encouragement of a mutual friend I agreed to hook up in person with a member here who lives within driving distance of me. That went splendidly and this person was every bit as cool and friendly as our mutual friend had said and apparently he felt the same because we have continued to be friends since with no need for any further encouragement from anyone else.

After that we hooked up a few times and shared various strains of smoke and the like. During one of those times I expressed an interest in getting ahold of some AK-47 as I had not grown any before but always enjoyed samples various friends have shared with me. I knew he had recently finished an AK-47 grow and had hope he had a mother of it around. Unfortunately he no longer had it but as it turns out he had given it to our mutual friend and he was also wanting to get a cut of it back as he wanted to grow it again. So I said no problem and told him I'd get it from our friend for myself and pass along some cuts to him.

So I contacted our friend and asked to get some of the AK-47 cuts. In the process I was offered and ultimately received several other cuts most noteable of which was Cheese and Purple Kush. Now of course first I did what I needed to do to get the clones ready to flower. Then before I made the switch to 12/12 I took more clones of each strain and got them rooted and into pots and got a week or two of growth on them. Then I got ahold of my friend from here and made arrangements to meet up with him. When I did I presented him with 2 clones of each strain, all potted and now about 6 inches tall.

Now to complete the story I have to tell you this. In my previous grow I had made some miscalculations on how long my stash would hold out before I needed a new harvest to restock. So basically here I was totally without smoke and 2 months from harvest because I had just gone to flower with the clones (now 2 weeks ago). Now I know that by getting these clones and getting them rooted and potted and started on veg. I had done my friend from here a good service. Especially since he was wanting to get the one strain back and also the other two strains are very good strains that many people find very enjoyable.

So having done a good service and providing him with things he wanted and that were desirable, I could have taken advantage of this to fix my lack of stash problem by charging him in bud for the service. That however was not my original intention. I wanted to do this out of kindness because one he's a good guy and deserves it on that alone. Two it was his strain originally and was only available for any of us in this network of friends to enjoy because he had given it away, so now that he wanted it back it was right to do so. My payoff was I have the strain flowering in my grow room as a part of my effort. Three, he's not a big time grower, he leads a responsible life that makes having a large grow foolish and impractical and while he shares what he can, he doesn't have much to share. So I never asked him for anything except that he meet me halfway to save on my gas expense (we live within driving distance but it's still a long distance. Which of course he understood and agreed to.

Another thing that should be noted is in the several times we've met up, he has always managed to have a little something, perhaps not much but it was always exceptional. That sort of thing is just in his nature and is part of what makes him a great guy. So you can see why I was willing to do what I did for him in the way of clones without trying to take advantage of him.

So anyway, here's the karma lesson in all that. Religions have instilled in man the though or belief of "Ask and ye shall receive". Karma's lesson is different, it's more like "Do and ye shall receive without having to ask". When I got there he had some gifts, namely some very delicious looking magical brownies I have yet to enjoy (I know how he is so I'm waiting for a day where I have nothing else to do :D ) But he also handed me this.

I thought at first, wow cool, a nice little stash case suitable for carrying stuff around and even with an appropriate logo on it. Then I opened it and found this.

Now first of all what you can't see here is in that one empty compartment on the right there was a bit of very clean dry sifted hash there but I scarfed that up as soon as I got home. :joint:

Here's what it looked like all dumped out of the container. Below are assorted shots of the buds up close. The strain is IBL SD X OG Kush and this is definately some good stuff, just on the fly without an indepth smoke report to go along I'd say on taste and high she rats a solid 9. She would definately make a fine keeper in most people's garden's.

I didn't need to ask for anything, my friend took care of me, just as in a way, I took care of him.

right on!

right on!

Very cool HK.

Sounds like good karma flowing all around.
It's nice when you see that there are still....every now and then, good people in the world.
I'm sure your friend was equally pleased with the gifts you had for him. 6" potted clones sound like you were lookin out for him. Hell....mosta the time i've gotten clones, I'm lucky if i get a 2 inch non rooted, mite infested cut that's tucked into a bit of wet toilet paper to keep it alive LOL :pointlaug
so it flows both ways. So if I was in his spot and got some happy lil vegged out clones ready to join the party, I'd be seriously gratefull.
It's good to know good people. I had a similar interaction with a friend recently where both myself and my friend had a lil something for each other...both of us felt that we hadn't done enough, or that we wish we coulda helped each other out more than we did, while both also felt that the other went above and beyond the call of duty. So I understand what you're talkin about.

Looks like some sticky icky there, HK...nice photo work as always.
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
Keep on living the Herbalife! there are good folks abound.

I'm so happy you didn't end it with something like, "but the dude didn't give me anything and I was pissed" hahaha! This is a good story, and is EXACTLY how karma works.

I couldn't agree more with this:
Do and ye shall receive without having to ask
These are words right out of my mouth.

Respect,

When I read the title I thought this was a story about someone getting their
comeuppance. Those r fun but this is better. It's so nice to have it be pos
and up. Too much bad news.
Thanks, Hempkat!
