ROUND 2: Macro's of Green Supreme's nuggets

Well i was so happy with the last shots i got over at greens, and his herb is so damn tasty, that coupled with the fact that he's an all around awesome guy, got me to thinking i should do that again>
So after meeting up at the bookstore where we sat and vaped and puffed down marijuana man , we headed back to the batcave, and took these shots. First off, please people if any props are due, they are to go to Green Supreme FIRST and foremost,
anything other props you have left, please direct to the living glands.

Most are shot at 4 weeks into bloom i believe aside from the seedsman haze , and the F13> Perhaps Green could drop us some info on the veg times, bloom times, etc.



SO lets start off with the Cannalope haze. from the DNA boys in amsterdam.
I will start each sequence with a bud shot so you have an idea of what it looks like a little further out. THe bud shots i apologize are not as stunning as the macro's , i still have a lot to learn when it comes to shooting buds, anytips are welcome as well as any critique's.

Next up we have djshorts F13, last time i shot these they were showing quite a bit of purple in the capitate stalks of the trichome. Here is an update about a week later.

This next one was called the GALACTIC BEAVER DOMINATOR. or GBD. I Thought it was quite nice indeed.

Here is the rene again, at four weeks of bloom. Here heads look good enough to smoke even now.

This little plant looked like nothing special, about two inches tall, and realy just a clone that ended up getting flowered. was spectacular under the macro> from the bud, its decent looking, but when you go closer.... (seedsmanhaze)

SFV og Kush, aka the dankkush as called by green supreme, something to do with the source not being a 100% sure if it was the sfv og kush, You let us know us.

Last and certainly not least is the special K, big ups to vision creator on his special K, a queen crossed with an afghanie i believe, maybe he can drop by and give us a little more info on that. Here they are...

notice the cystolith hairs and how they look to the naked eye to be the same colour as the gland heads. dont be fooled, these are non active just like the capitate stalks the gland heads sit on. Only the head is what we seek!!!

well thats it for now, ( took me three hours to upload and post this by the way)

hopefully in the near future i will have some more plants to shoot.

I wouldn't use the ringflash for the budshots , just use a regural flash ... will do a better job and you can use a small aperture like F4 to isolate it from the background . Do you own a macro lens which goes from infinity to 1x magnification ? 50mm and 100mm macros are very good for budshots . The mpe-65 is only good for high magnifications ... You can also use the high power flash to isolate it completely from the background ( background will be black ) . So these are my tips for good budshots . Also for high magnifications ( like 3x - 5x ) when you stop down the lens too much ( like F14-F16 ) the quality suffers because of diffraction , so the pics get a little soft , sometimes it is good though because everything ( or some parts anyway ) are in focus . But if you want the maximum quality ( to isolate a trich ) use max F8-F11 , F4-F5.6 will give the best resolution sharpness.

I loved your pics ... I hope you don't mind me posting one ... if you do please say so and I will remove it ...

Shot at 7x-8x magnification with cinema lens reversed on extension tubes ( total cost of the setup 20 pounds .. yes thats right... 20 pounds ) . The bud is 303 x c99 , gifted , and it was kinda compressed . So the triches "melted"/transformed into one giant trichome head ! hehe funny stuff

Hey L33t, thanks for the tips mon, all these shots were shot at f7 and up. The highest being f11. I didnt use my ring flash for any of the bud shots, i used a completely different lens which was the efs 17-85mm canon , and did one shot with built in camera flash and one without. Its not realy the best for bud shots, but am looking at a 50mm 1.2M lens . I am stoked you posted your own pic, and support anyone else in doing so> THis is a macro trichome thread, and any macro shots are more than welcome.
I am just learning at this so please critique if you have the knowledge. i always appreciate it.

Hey thanks for the kind words everybody. i am realy getting into this macro thing, and look foreward to learning so much more. After all i realy am a totaly and utter beginner. Once i learn better control over my light, and manager to get the hang of photo stacking, the quality of pics i will be uploading will increase.

very nice pics Bubbleman, clearly a nice cam set up you've got there. You're into this picture stacking thing that monkey uses are ya? Seems a little complicated to me that to be honest. I love to see the results though.

Bubbleman..very nice...have you tried any studio lighting? I use a couple Smith Vector stands and 200/400 watt natural bulbs. They get very hot and have to be placed carefully to keep from getting shadows. I love them over flash though. I don't stack anything. You are doing wonderful with your images for a beginer and now hooked will now be cleaning the resins from your camera and lenses a lot....DD

Hey GMT, i have used the stacking program a few times with a few non cannabis shots i took, but for hash and trichome shots, i have not yet tried a stack>

Hye doobieduck, i have not yet really used any extra lighting aside from my twin flash i use for macro > I am thinking of picking up the 100mm macro lens from canon and would like to get some additional lighting options.
anyway thanks for the good words everybody, hope to have some more sick shots up soon in round 3
