been there, done that. when possible, push the point on through and cut the hook at the bend. they come right out then...
it's not "fun" but is a damn sight better than a ride to the hospital & a three hour wait in the emergency room with all of the freaks hunting pain pills...
in any service job, aiding the customer is "my privilege, glad to help, come back and see us", etc sort of stuff you say to your paying customer regardless of your skin color...if you want to keep your job. it's not some conspiracy...

Babylon Bee is a satire site. The joke is a play on the fictional ‘white privilege’ narrative. Where I live, the vast majority of service jobs are staffed by people who do not think of it as a privlege(it is a chore they do grudgingly). A response of ‘you are welcome’ when I say ‘thank you’ is very rare.in any service job, aiding the customer is "my privilege, glad to help, come back and see us", etc sort of stuff you say to your paying customer regardless of your skin color...if you want to keep your job. it's not some conspiracy...

I did that to my right thumb when I was a kid fishing in the summertime. I sunk a hula popper trouble hook all the way through my thumb at the first joint. They cut the barn off and backed it out and everything other than the screaming was over with.

That's what happened here in Germany a few years ago.
Everyone was proud and felt so responsible and environmentaly conscious. Myself included.
After some time I got to thinking:
Why the f++k just straws?
Can't imagine that they contribute all that much to the plastic problem...
I guess this plastic straw ban doesn't hurt any big players in the industries (and plastic straw manufacturers don't seem to have a strong lobby).
Politicians could feel proud of themselves, seems like crafty political green washing to me...
but very rarely available. only time i got a scrip for them was when i severed my thumb with an ax while splitting kindling. only thing holding it on was part of the nail...

In Canada they banned single use plastic bags but when you buy milk here it comes in 3-1 liter plastic bags inside a fourth ,you buy bread in a plastic bag with a paper bread clip,it's bizarre.That's what happened here in Germany a few years ago.
