Yellowing leaves while flowering? Correct the problem with a high N food.

Science divides us into 3 groups. The rather unscientifically named non-tasters. The normal tasters. The super tasters. Only the 1 in 3 of us called as super tasters, can have 3 flavours in their mouth, and tell you what each are.
I'll have to test that and see. I have the condition of more taste buds per square inch and an overjacked nerve response. :)

Should you ever get to experience real quality, you will be very unhappy you started this or similar threads.
:tiphat:

"Should ever get to experience real quality...." :D Dese kids....

Have been smoking weed since 1968. Some so trippy we called it "acid weed". A lid (oz.) aka 4 finger bag was going for $8-10 . Have also field harvested 100's of peyote buttons from the Rio Grande valley (near Rio Grande City) before the checkpoints were in, field harvested Psilocybin from cow patties on my parent's land, dropped the finest acid (Blue Cheer) in the late 60's, Lebanon Blond hash, Thai stick, etc.

Enjoy your silky smooth stash,
Uncle Ben

I was using CAN this last time for the first time, in late flower and it really made the sugar leaves lush. They also got bud rot and I had to cut 2 weeks early.

So no CAN or added humidity after brown pistils start to show up is in the notes.

Cute, (that's my way of saying "welcome to ignore" for being immature, by attempting to bring personal insults to a cultivation discussion) and I'm really talking to others in your same position. I would hope they broaden their horizons before undertaking a similar task as yours. I'm out of this thread and won't see your responses, but thanks for dropping in and trying to spread what you believe in.

Awareness is a powerful thing. :)

Yep, we got a nutrient imbalance going on here, notice the yellowing, and I don't think yours is a pure indica like my Lapis Mtn. indica that has leaves that go bronze, reddish, all kinds of weird colors. Be glad to advise ya kid but I think The Herd and their vendors have you by the balls. You've been programmed by the wrong people and now must submit to The Internet Cannabis Paradigms or be cast out by The Mob.

The original Bros. Grimm C99 at 6.5 weeks flowering, 2002. Harvested it a few days later. C99 was one of those rare sativa types that was ready within 7 weeks. Amazing old genetics. I did backcrosses of the originals 22 years ago and again in 2021. The seedlings are stable, all look like clones.

TrainwreckXSweettooth, 78 days. Some yellowing but the fan leaves are still *nourishing* the flowers. I bet if I checked my journal I was playing with bloom foods. Been there, done that.

You have overwatered these plants lol, look how all the leaves cringe down. Terrible these old farts. Want to bullyteach others boastfully about botany and cannot even show a healthy turgid plant.

Meant to respond to this. You are probably spot on. I added 1 tsp. of potassium sulfate to a gallon or water and drenched the pot quite a few times, then the yellowing effect started. There is an antagonism affect going regarding N/K.

View attachment 18839470
Ah so your KS caused a lockout you say, and the evidence should be in this broscience pic? Aha ok uhmm where exactly? Because if you take a look the antagonism is displayed only onesides (N antagonizing K, not vice versa).
Not that I give much about this wheel when it doesn't even differentiate between the various forms of N. Just pointing out your logic is flawed. Like in all of your posts actually.

Thanks. That was originally a slownickel lesson. (One I actually remember without going back through notes)..

I have a file on my desktop with meaningful words of insight from a half-dozen or more members here over the years (Despite my current join date, I've been here 3 or 4 times under the same moniker, spanning since maybe 2008 +/-).

The file was begun initially because there was simply too much important information, ranging from others' soilless and soil-based mixes to interactions and causes of lockouts. It's served well in times of need.

Now it serves for the fact that I'm entering into a period where remembering shit is becoming too difficult at times, and I'm not growing the numbers of plants or crops in a year I once did, no longer a 'commercial success' (Ozark Mtn Daredevils reference), and with other stressors in life, it can become even easier to ask, "What the hell did I do to contend with this phenomenon?"

To this day, when I'm attempting to help someone who's asked, I advise taking notes and keeping them in a place they can be readily found. Limited space in the head for mental data can be a real thing.

Edit: Yes, egos in these forums have been a real downer.

I had hard water issues when we put in a well 20-some years ago (total hardness of about 380 the last time I did a thorough, and I mean thorough, water analysis), and ceased having water delivered (on top of the original better source of delivered water having later gone out of business) and changes in organic amendments by sometimes the same source, but notably different in quality, also causing all sorts of issues.

I had, previous to those combined changes, had exquisite crops of seriously resinous 18" colas, terps galore, grown under mere 400 hps, etc., and was more or less implicitly mocked, patronized, and called a liar indirectly by some (even some of those in this thread), because their egos and skepticism wouldn't allow them to consider that I was talking truth, and instead I received nearly zero meaningful help from them. I remember who those people were. As a result, I take their comments with a huge grain of salt.

I did receive some insights, not always accurate though sometimes very helpful insights, nonetheless, from people who were sometimes in that same group. I burned at least one of the more helpful persons out with extraneous issues in life, aside from growing, but they were helpful, patient, and tried to put things into a format or context I could understand as a non-hard-sciences guy. Them, I owe a thanks.

For the snobs and egotists, I've sometimes wondered why they were here at all?

Post-edit edit: I have, by the way, largely overcome the challenges from back then, even without installing my newer 5-stage RO/DI system that's now sat in a closet for a half-dozen years, instead working with other considerations I had here, and it's come around nearly full-circle.

Thanks.

The referenced tune has come in handily in numerous settings and contexts as a parody of some of the speedbumps, desires, goals, etc.. Accepting personal limitations and the comedy in the ad lib script of life.

A fitting parody in every walk of life I've been in; from dope growing to professional above-board settings.

hehe, I remember $70 quarter pounds 50 cent joints then $5.00 nickel, $10 dollar dime, $15 dollar lids, $20 ounces panama red, tia stick, colombo red/gold those were the days, the weed was much better, yes, it had seeds but it was fantastic

I'm just more selective about the timing these days. balance being a more difficult target in feeling solid enough at the moment to launch into testing limits. Limits sometimes being more fragile or sensitive than before.

Still is, like I said the backcross of the original Cinderella99 I grew 20 or so years ago looked like clones. I germed 5 from that OLD backcross, all popped, got 4 females, one male. Did another backcross in 2020 from those. As luck would have it they all got a bad case of spider mites in the greenhouse which totally screwed up the quality. Of all pests that attack cannabis I think mites are the worse. If your leaves start getting that white mottled look, tiny white pits, you got mites.

I notice many commercial fertilisers contain high N and high K. There must be some Science behind this, somewhere.

Be kind to one another. You'll all be dead one day.

There is. Most plant material doesn't need the high P content you find in so many fertilizers. Manufacturers are selling to a groupie mindset, a philosophy, so they pump up their products with high P content "cause phosphorous makes bigger and better buds".

Challenge - find me a link to a cannabis tissue analysis! That will reflect what NPK works best, start to finish. Example - I grow citrus and tissue analysis reflects it contains a NPK of 5-1-3 or 3-1-2.

With the exception of quality commercial folks like Peters who don't need to resort to the cannabis kewl kiddie colorful labels/names with all the hype, Peters and other quality, well priced foods sell on their own merit in plain "wrappers".

Agree

I've been on some powerful trips, first one being after eating 7 fresh peyote buttons, each, with a buddy on the beach and did all the Don Juan mescalito drills - very intense colors, warp in time and space, and disassociation, astral projection, where your consciousness/mind leaves your body and travels. Sounds wacko I know, but here I am watching, looking down on me going thru life and its motions at the time.

I was the driver for 4 surfer dude buddies who jumped a rancher's fence and harvested a little over 600 buttons one Saturday morning. Location was between 1 of 3 hills this side of Rio Grande City driving south.

Wouldn't do it again now, but wouldn't trade the experiences for anything back then.

Chasing The Present
It seems that buying into the marketing of “woo woo” juice to the cannabis industry and people whom believe in fading a plant are being conflated into the same thing…

Plenty of people despise the Woo woo yet believe in a proper fade…

Starches converting properly in Nov in upstate NY late last year - to get thru Oct here is a near miracle, this got harvested mid Nov and hung in as big a pieces as I could, most all leafs just dropped off & harvesting was a breeze, bit over 5 lbs of quality flowers and a couple lbs larf here on this one plant in a legendary snow belt region, 200” a year on average…

When still two plants there

Frosted & snowed on a few times by this point ^

I’m not going to get into a mineral, synthetic or proper fertilizer discussion in here as people are just talking past one another; but we’re not growing Thatch here or green manures nor are we legume farmers…

K can be even more insidious than P IMO especially as it competes with other bases & Ca is king y’all - you leave too much K or Mg in your plant snap crackle & pop in that bowl, black ash all over the place…

K - we’re not thickening up our skins on our citrus either - ;)

It only doesn’t matter IF you don’t know the difference

I recall Jacks when it used to be JR Peters - but I’m a organic / mineral farmer over here cuz it’s easiest for me & works the best…

Peace & happy growing

But I am, and for good reason. I planted legumes and green manure crops for 2 consecutive years on part of my land, like 15 acres, to improve soil tilth and fertility. Organics mah man.

I've about done it all when it comes to gardening all kinds of plant materials - orchids, carnivorous plants, cacti, veggies, fruits, trees, grapes....you name it. knowledge base transfers over to an easy to grow weed like cannabis. Accordingly I've learned how well tried and true conventional farming methods and products work for me and embrace both organics and use of synthetic foods. They both have their merits and few cons. I also have/had a state Pesticide applicators license. Has come in handy when problems arise with cannabis. Knowledge is power.

Plenty of people despise the Woo woo yet believe in a proper fade…

Well, a 1,000 flies on a pile of shit can't be wrong. :ROFLMAO:

I have seen Da Fade, I know I have! :woohoo:Mostly sativas like this outdoor O. Haze from The Flying Dutchman back in 2012.
