Here's a few bud shots of Colombian Gold 72 x THH. Harvested her around Nov 20. Shared with friends and it has become everyone's favorite smoke even without a cure.
During grow, it had a mostly peppery and a little sweet smell but after harvest it is more sweet. My friends are demanding I grow this again which I will! Thanks @MadMac

i am curious what zamal you used? did you find others that had the vibes like your original M zamal mc queen?
hello,
well first i'll used the French Touch Zamal MC with Tom Hill Haze as a male... did two runs...
now i'll used ACE Zamaldelica breeder pack Double Zamal (75% Zamal)...
the FT Zamal is like the best OHz ... but total different terpene...
i'll have one OHz that looks like and grow's like the Zamal ... same leaf pattern...
some pheno's of Punto Rojo looking also like those...
still have two packs from FT MC first release... they use one of my images on there webpage...
was in close contact with them while growing the MC Queen ;-)
thx

hello,
well here some last images of seed making and a few from flower room...

seed making with the reversed OHz is @ it's end... 8 weeks + since pollination... love the colours and smells... piney ... diesel... metallic and spicy are the common smells...
IMG_4711.jpeg

Col. Black x OHz S1 ... what a beauty... the purple is back in OHz ... it's such a good match... hear it from everywhere who has grown... yield is back too... nice dense crystal covered bud's ...
IMG_4713.jpeg

Col.Black and A5 and OHz on the right... all same soilbed... see the stem's ... purple and green... it's not the soil... it's in the genetics...
IMG_4714.jpeg
IMG_4723.jpeg

flower room... Thaistick x OHz
IMG_4733.jpeg

another A5/OHzS1 x OHz... very nice dreads... pick and roll... love that...
IMG_4734.jpeg

THH6 x OHzS1 ... getting bigger and bigger... stopped shooting
IMG_4735.jpeg
IMG_4736.jpeg

same THH6 x OHz S1 but other branch... Devils flower...
IMG_4738.jpeg

bud heaven... all got sooo heavy .. most needed support... and still getting bigger.. last 4 weeks
IMG_4739.jpeg

very very happy so far... no looser's in the pool... good selections pay's off ... but so much time to finding out... it's sooo important to keep the clones until you're sure... and that's the work as well... i'll still have 48 cones of haze... and don't see any reason to kill one... you have to grow the haze 3 times or more to find really out how good a girl is... but with males... make crosses ... grow out ... see test again... compare... test the male if stable... some intersex or have issues... i'll followed Sam's suggestions and only found one male from about 16 i'll tested... and the results are really amazing ... keep him now also @ my friends home...
the OHz male made those like A5 inbreed strains shine... and after bx to the OHz with the male or the reversed OHz gave even better results... and that happend to most i've crossed with the OHz ...

happy growin'

I've never seen haze/narrow leaf stuff so covered in trichomes. I've probably seen 100 haze/narrow leaf/landrace logs in the past 5 years, but never seen haze bud quite as healthy as yours (with maybe one or two exceptions)

Do you attribute your beautiful buds to just being that well dialed in in all regards, or quality plant selecting/genetics (as I see you say above)or what?

I'm in my early 30s so I guess you could call me one of those new-school kids who doesn't know quality haze. Never grown it. Don't know it. All I know is that most pictures I see are not thriving plants. It clearly takes a steady, experienced hand to pull off these genetics, like yours.

well.. it's booth... after growing pure sativa for some years i'll adapted my grow style to the plants... but it's also genetics ... had on my long journey enough looser's... with this grow i'm very happy because of the circumstances ... was not often @ home and there got dried out and also overwatered ... and with those all different sativa's ... i'll still see that they all need different amounts of food... some are very hungry in big shoes and for others was it already too much... in general pure sativa's are happy with 0.9 - 1.2 EC max ... 1.2 and you see on some that the leaf tip getting brown... also the soil is very important for pure sativa's ... if the soil you use is to hot ... the complete grow will fail... in my region Biobizz LightMix works best with the haze for example... tried also different and my own ... if than living soil is the best...

many thx again...
well big bud's on sativa is possible when the genetics allow it...
the secret is here to use P & K separate for feeding...
from begin to mid flowering i'll only use P ... the plant doesn't need K @ this stage...
from mid flower till close to end i'll use K ... do a transition in mid flowering from P to K
to me it showed much better results ...
i'll use my tap water ... PH is 7.0 and has enough minerals (Mg & Ca)
but when i'll use rain water like in summer ... than i'll need to add Mg & Ca ...
little more Ca is needed when growing under LED... LED is great when you know what to feed more...
especially hybrids and indica need much more Ca... also separate P&K is better...
have to smile a little when i'll read the discussion if LED or Bulb... and who is better...
you always have adapt your grow style to the plants and environment ...not the plants to your grow style/environment... if so you need a few generations ... easier with short flowering ... but with 16 weeks + ... and landraces ... takes a long long time ...

a few quotes...
I believe the "rules" of harvesting indicas do not apply to long flowering sativas...pick an indica a few weeks late and it's like smoking valium and you'll get heavy eyelids and a boring stone...pick a long flowering sativa a few weeks or a month "late" and you won't get sleepy or couchy, what you will get is the full complexity of the high without the speedy, paranoia effects...I'd advise letting a few of those Zamals flower for a few weeks or more longer than usual (if weather permits) and you'll be able to savour the "fullness" of the high..and then you'll maybe hear the drums too.... re : sativas and harvesting .....Random - tell your mate that the "trippy" Thais and "hear the drums beating in your ears" Africans from the 70's that legends were made of were not picked early with small immature calyxes and underdeveloped resin heads - that's for sure! If you are going to take the time and effort to grow and to flower a tree for 3 ~ 5+ months of vegging and 4 or 5+ months..then what's a couple of weeks more so you can hear the African drums beat or the Asian bells ring loud in your ears and maybe grow a legend yourself!....there should be a law against picking a sativa early!...with long flowering sativas (not quicky Dutchies like C99, I'm talking about 100% Africans and Asian landraces here) the potency doubles from those picked at for example 16 weeks compared to 20 weeks..at 16 weeks the high is weak, unsubstantial, whizzy, wishy-washy and low in potency.......but after the plant has fully matured and cured the high is not sleepy or tiring at all, but has a fullness, completeness (I'm running out of adjectives here!) and a little goes a long way etc etc .... you wouldn't pick an 8 week flowering strain at 5 weeks would you?...then don't pick a landrace sativa at 15 weeks when they need 20 weeks.... long flowering sativas go through 3 or 4 stages of flowering....to inexperienced eyes, a plant may seem ready-ish at 14 weeks, but if you wait a week or two the buds will be covered in fresh flowers and then look to be a month from finishing ....it's important to wait until they have fully completed all the 3 or 4+ cycles of flowering....the old and new calyxes will be covered in a combination of very old, old, young and very young trichomes...harvest after the only new flower growth is at the extremes tips of each budlet....this is when experienced growers harvest to attain the full complexity of the high and maximum potency of their long flowering sativas!

This one page is full of love for growing and sharing. Even my words fail to convey my thoughts or gratitude. Just a beautiful result and the promise of what can be done with pure intention. TY MM

Nice work on the Hazes as always @MadMac !

I do like the looks of the THH#6 in it's outcrosses. Has almost a black look about it. Maybe from Colombian black?

Also about the purple in THH. Tom states it's ok as long as the buds don't go purple just the leaves ...

Did notice both my THH (best) went purple. One in buds, other in the leaves only. Well the one with purple only in the leaves was much stronger.

Did you notice this as well?
