They both look super fire. Awesome plants man. I've seen nothing but killer plants from these S1's. He found some super plants in big pops when they tested them. He was talking about S2's. But I haven't heard/seen anything more on it.

Yeah I was really happy with my S1s. Favourite flower ever from one of them! I ran some TK S1s at the same time and it was hard to call which was better at first. A couple of months down the line with everything cured properly and the favoured 91 S1 has pulled well ahead of the TK S1s in terms of flavour, smell, effect. And the TK S1s are amazing as well, lol.

I look forward to hunting through the rest of the pack!

I'm curious about his potential S2 work too. I see he's started using selected S1s in some other lines/crosses so maybe a matter of time?

Hey chunkypig. When you say old sour d what are you referring to? I've been looking into this and it seems these cuts like ECSD, AJ's, Chaco, SKunktek etc are not producing the same thing as the old sour d I remember.
Sour is a difficult plant to grow with consistency indoors, could be that you haven't seen a nice example since back in the day.

I would guess that the 1st sour you remember was not the real sour or the cuts you were passed were fake. sour is still sour. fakes are rampant. Chaco still holds it down.

I'm running Skunktek's for the first time but it seems like the same ECSD as the one Chaco has been passing forever...

This is what I mean though. Maybe this chaco cut is an S1 or something. Not a great representative of sour diesel in my opinion. Not loud. Maybe it is to some people, but not myself or anyone I know. The old sour I used to go through pounds of but never a cut.

Got the dog in day 9 of flower right now. Was gonna run the D with her, but I started a new mother and rejuvenating her under the sun so that set me back. This is the smallest 91 in the room, rest are in the back and I'm too lazy to walk back there for photos lol. I'll get around to it. She's got some nice tops forming! 1 gal coco....

Stardog is a killer line and many great phenos to be found with a good variety of various expressions within it... IMO stardawg was one of the most successful seedlines ever produced, especially by today's standards. I've went thru a few great cuts of stardawg myself. Sitting on a few packs of stardawg f2's that I'd like to eventually get around to.

See this is the problem Gerald. Your memory is of something that the people who sold it to you called "SourD."
It might have been something completely different. A street name for something off the hill somewhere. Not the original ECSD at all.
You have no way of knowing.
Now if you got a legit cut of "real sour D" 15 years ago from somebody known then and now to be connected with the original sources and validated, grew that cut for 5 years and then lost it, never to be seen again, that would be a different perspective/experience for you to be recapturing.
It's not gonna work though the way you're doing it.

Also, you totally missed Chunky's points.
1. ECSD from Chaco is a legit cut. It was validated by many connected people back when he got it about 10 years ago.
He has personally preserved that same cut for all this time.
Chunky has the cut straight from Chaco's hands.
Other people have cuts they SAY are the Chaco cut (ECSD), but how many of them got it from Chaco? 10% maybe? Probably less.
How many of those people got the real thing and how many got a cut of something grown from bagseed in a bud from a harvested "Chaco cut ECSD"?
How many got completely a cut from some different line that was just named "Chaco's"

2. ECSD is notoriously hard to grow well. When it's not grown well (which happens often), the smoke may not live up to the legendary reputation.
If you didn't grow the plant you are comparing to, you really have no idea what you are trying to find.

I hope you find something in your search that lives up to your memory of what "real sour" was like.

@Raho You have just explained the problem with most people claiming this or that is not available anymore, most of the time they can't verify 100% what they experienced was the real deal but still judge everything with their own bias.
The black market created legends who will forever stay in the shadow of doubt.

I’m not too familiar with Chaco or any of the online personalities who claim or “verify” sour diesel cuts. Are they from NYC? I think the only people who can verify the old sour diesel are the ones who were pushing it because NO grower has ever come forward with it to my knowledge. I really don’t think soma worked with it either tbh

Sorry I misspelled your name Gerard. No disrespect intended.
Old Chem crew people. Not online personalities. People in the real world.

It's well known that Soma's NYC Diesel was not "diesel" as it's known in the US market. Something else entirely. A poor name choice for him, but he did that a few times.

You seem to have convinced yourself that the "Sour D" you bought bags of in the past was the only true Sour D and that whatever it was doesn't exist anymore, that anything other people call sour D is nor real and they are all sharing some weird delusion.
I've pointed out the problems with your perspective.
Just because you can't find it or what you do find is crap doesn't mean it doesn't exist., or that the cuts that other people believe are legit are bogus.
Last time I saw Sour D growing in person was a 99 plant outdoor med garden in the hills of Mendo in 2012, so please don't assume I have anything. I don't.

I'm not going to get into an extended discussion with you about it if you can't understand or refuse to acknowledge the validity of my points.
