@elanius have you tried the R4 yet or are you growing it for the first time. R4 is the one that I would love to have a nd curious if you can confirm that it is as good as it looks and like Mac says. Not that I don't believe Mac, just be interesting to hear your experience. Excellent work as well.

@funkyhorse hey my friend, thanks for replying to me a.while back. I see that meat is like prosciutto. Yummy! It's funny because the way that I read it I thought you were talking about some new type of hash that I didn't know about. And I wanted to know the new hash. But it's meat. Cracked me up.

@MadMac don't answer if you don't want to, but there are a thousand ways to skin a cat and am.interested in how you keep the mother plants of all these plants that you are growing out. I know you use blumats for watering, but how big is your veg space to handle all you plants? A little off topic.

Enjoy your weekend all,

Take care.

@elanius
Are you counting 15 weeks from the day it shows sex or from the day you flip?
Is this from seed or cut? If from cut, how old was the mom when cut was taken?
Outdoors MadMac's share took here 85-90 days from seed after showing sex and from one year old cut it took about 10 days less
From seed to harvest took around 120-150 days total

I am seeing with sativas it is faster outdoors than indoors
With indicas it doesnt seem to me the same happens. It seems to take same time or faster indoors from the impression I am having just looking at pics, I cant grow indicas properly here in wetlands, it is a waste of time

What is the size of the pot of that beautiful Ohz you posted above?

Amazing pics and skill man, enjoy your harvest.
Thanks funkyhorse!
I always count from the day I flip to flower, growing them in 6l pots and if possible, using a well aged cuts. The mother was about 7 months old, when I took the cut. She is now enjoying her time outdoors in the sun.
Btw, I imagine you sure can grow indicas there, but It would take some hunting for resistant genetics. I was just discussing this, regarding powdery mildew, you can find totally resistant plants in DjShort beans. Eg. I had Blueberry plant that was immune to PM and never saw any bud rot on her either.

WOW

yes ... thank you for confirming ... after seeing Asha's R4 OHz results in GB outdoors with light dep. ... R4 is the way to go...
damn that it takes so long to confirm ... that's the culprit with the haze... all needs longer more resources and passion to get decent results... but the high is worth to go that long long way... i'll love it soo much...
many thx for sharing here!
so great to see your dedication to the haze and your great pictures...
haze & art working perfect together...
well well done brother!
M.
Thanks man!

I agree, these well selected hazes just tick all the boxes for me and I dont mind the flowering time at all. Some things in life are simply worth the wait.

Thanks Deep Thought and yes, I did try few R4 already, all of them were great. Years ago, I grew 13 females from regular ohaze seeds and found two keepers, so compared to this ratio the R4 are for sure improvement and no wonder. The "problem" with regular seeds is that you are using males and have no idea what they have to offer - without testing the progeny. If you take your best selected females and cross them together, you just have a better chance for something good. In the case of R4, they even had my favorite smell on them. I guess you are curious what is the high like, that its considered so good. I smoked a spliff with my gf while making a dinner the other day and it was such blast, I felt like a freaking master chef lol. Every move was calculated and precise, all senses elevated to highest levels, music was a new experience and all this without any negative feelings, no anxiety just a bliss. Thats the best haze experience for me. Great for enhancing the day...but you can go further to some very psychedelic states, the ceiling is very high.

Hi there Elanius!
I think what you guys do there is epic. The epic thing here is getting decent seed adapted to this environment
You can grow anything anywhere. The only way I could grow indicas here is doing it against nature and in very expensive unsustainable set ups based in a lot of electricity and with powerful extractors in order to bring humidity down which are very noisy and shake the peace of the countryside and the beach in a place with limited electricity supply
I tried Blueberry F4 from DJ Short
These are the males, they got eaten by local fauna four days after these pics.
bb males.jpeg
bb male (3).jpeg

The local fauna predated on BB and on Coljam males which is another indica crossed with sativa. They even ate the stems of BB and chopped the top shot of a Coljam girl. Leb 27 male was next to them and they didnt touch it. I think it was brazilian guinea pigs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_guinea_pig
The blueberry girls rot here. I tried also BB F2 from apeorigin, Fighting Buddha and Grapefruit x BB from Chimera. They all rot here unless I build this expensive indoor set up which I am not interested in. At least I tried the genetics and now after trying I know it is not my thing at all

I tried Fighting Buddha and made this FB x Ohz.
FB x Ohz 75 days outdoors winter.jpeg

Excellent terpenes. I think this one could make hash rivalling Manali and Nepali charas. It might even rival Paraguayan silk or charasguayo. But for vaping/smoking, hashplants x sativa is clearly not my thing, for me they all remain hashplants with a lot more productivity and better high than pure indicas but I dont deny you can find and make some amazing crosses, you have breeding tools over there in Europe or Usa which are not available to third world growers

I tried Deep Chunk x Ohz.
This is the male outdoors. Next year I will keep males outdoors, it is the only way to know what to expect from males. I expect the progeny of this guy will stem rot in my environment so I am not even trying
DC x ohz90 male.jpeg

DC x Ohz bud
DC x Ohz.jpeg

Very impressive. All crosses of hashplants x Ohz gave incredible vigour. The opposite of what happens with Ohz when inbred
Lemon Thai x Ohz. It smells, tastes like Deep Chunk
Lt x seedsman hz (4).jpeg

(Lemon Thai x THH) x CG72. Only 25% Lemon Thai and it is so dominant. Such beautiful fenotrigos, but it is hashplant, it should be grown to be made hash but I still vape it sometimes when the day is over
Lt x thh x cg72 (5).jpeg

This is my last plant from season 2021/22
Mangobiche from Cannabiogen chopped yesterday because of PM and stem rot. It could have gone another month easy, it grows from equinox to equinox, it was almost free from bugs, very impressive. If this happens to mangobiche here, imagine what might happen to desertic strains like BB in wetlands
Mangobiche stem rot
Mangobiche cbg 2 stem rot.jpeg
Mangobiche cbg 2 stem rot (2).jpeg

Mangobiche PM
Mangobiche cbg 2 pm.jpeg

At least all mangobiches are crossed with Smoh BX and green ot1hz. But I dont know how this Smoh BX male or OT1 hz males would perform outdoors so I dont know if it could improve the adaptability or not. I have this PM issue with all the pure sativa genetics coming from Spain. I also had it in some low vigour inbred Ohz and CG72 this year.
Mangobiche is good example. I have a Mangobiche from Colombia and it didnt rot nor pm problems here, bug tolerance is something else. I think it is environmental and I need to get european or american bred genetics adapted to this continent
The easiest thing for me would be to grow the local landraces but I better dont comment about the accesibility of that, so it is what it is and I try to do the best for this environment with what I have
Have a nice day everybody

@funkyhorse damn, you seem to live in rather hostile environment for our favorite plants, but with your passion and dedication to these NLD beauties, Im sure you will find what you are looking for. GL!
@bigherb thanks for the kind words man, I also very much appreciate your contributions to the Haze story, especially your perseverance and attention to detail (which I personally know its a possible curse and a blessing in disguise).
@Azure what a beauty, so nice to see these plants flourish under the sun.

far beyond driven...
hello,
well little update....
Golli OHz repro finished today...
8 weeks + since removing the males..
seeds are already falling out...
followed SamS's suggestion for making long term viability seeds...
1. let not flower too long when start pollinating...
2. minimum 6 weeks of ripening ... best 8-10 weeks ... until plant is dead...
3. cure like smoking weed ... 3 month @ 60-65% humidity in the dark @ 16-20°C
than you get bigger healthy seeds with long long viability
will do the same with the two pack of Seedsman OHz and Sam's OHz lines later...#

very nice as always... the diamonds are a special type of trichomes usually conserved to leaf and stem organs. they produce chromene cannabinoids- cbc, cbl and most important cbt. these type of analogues of these cannabinoids are also produced in several rhododendron species in japan, korea and south china(yunnan). highest concentration is in juvenile plant so its a great selection trait.
they usually co appear with oxygenated sequiterpenes in the guanine family along with bisabol and farnese all are used to fight fungi in humid jungle environments. haze has by far the highest counts of these cannabinoids. also, there are 9 different types of cbt cannabinoids and they are produced from cbca as a precursor, not cbga which is challenging past conceptions about cbg being the only "stem cell" cannabinoid.

@MadMac - awesome work above sir! ^^^

Can you say, for the Zamal x OH, what is added to the Zamal with OH (or maybe vice versa, what is added to the OH)? Is it mostly increased bud size, resin, different or better effect? No pure haze experience for me yet.

Thanks in advance MM!

Peace

...como el Son...
16 (dawning) of August

Aprox, 39°N & 900 metres high.

Maximum temperatures in the shade, after a refreshing rain from the north over the weekend, have dropped by 10 to 15 °C: from daily 40 to 45 °C (104 to 113 °F), we are now in the heavenly 30 to 35 °C (86 to 95 °F).
But I am afraid that the AEMet predicts a return to 40 °C (104 °F) by the end of the week.
