Just finished a book about Michael Hollingshead called Divine Rascal, he was the guy who gave Tim Leary his first taste of acid and wrote the book “ The Man Who Turned On The World “ after purchasing a gram of LSD from Sandoz and mixing it with castor sugar in a mayonnaise jar to produce around 5000 spoonfuls which worked out at around 200 micrograms per spoonful.
He went on to give a spoonful or two to many prominent figures of the time, lived with Leary at Millbrook working as a guide and started The World Psychedelic Centre from his flat in London helping to shape the counter culture of the 1960’s.
He was with Leary when he turned up in California and stayed at the Brotherhoods ranch with him for a while before leaving for another destination. Hollingshead rarely stayed anywhere for long, probably because he was a bit of a scoundrel when it came to money and upset a few people though Leary always had a soft spot for him and held him in high regard.

There was not much information about his stay with the Brotherhood but he would of known Griggs and the others quite well I imagine after staying at the ranch with Leary so I thought he deserved an honourable mention in this thread.

Ronnie Bevan has written a book called Brotherhood Hashish, can’t wait to read it.
He told me it’s the only book written by an original member and the only true info available as most of what has been written about the Brotherhood is false.
At last, a true first hand account from someone who was actually there, been waiting for this 😁

I've been wondering lately what actually killed John Griggs. His final trip was a very bad one, when he expired after consuming something naturally psychedelic, either shrooms or a succulent. He was very experienced with psychedelics of all kinds and it's surprising that he got a bad batch of something. Donning my stannous chapeau, perhaps it was the DEA or a competing drug cartel that poisoned him...

If anyone knows more, I'd be very interested to know as many details as possible.

OldCoolSativa, apparently it was synthetic psilocybin that killed Griggs. Dion Wright also thought it was maybe some sort of conspiracy against John but after having a proper conversation with Carol Griggs, she told him ‘ he just took too damn much!! ‘
I believe John liked to take what people call today, heroic doses or something like that?
He liked to push the boundaries and maybe pushed too hard that night?? Not sure if there has been any other recorded deaths from synthetic psilocybin or it was just a one off?
Damn shame either way, imagine he was still alive today, the stories he could tell, I’m hoping Ron’s book sheds a bit more light on this enigmatic figure as well as his own story.

in the book Orange Sunshine it says synthetic psilocybin and brings up the heavy speculation of an assassination, it also mentions a member, I forget their name off the top of my head, but they ate 20 orange sunshine doses so 20X300mic so 6,000 micrograms and they experienced clairvoyance where they saw John Griggs' death but by the time they got there it was too late

I haven't had any acid in a few years. It used to come an find me. It hasn't found me lately.

One night after a trip I woke up to a buzzing electric sensation in my foot. Chris Cornell was holding onto my foot, standing at the end of my bed.
The next day I read he had passed on. It was a strange deal. ?

Hi breethen...
quite an off topic question
does anyone know the origin of some seeds that have been around supposedly old school seeds, a good friend of mine give me many years ago a strain called "Oaxacan Red" suposely it comes from BOEL original seedstock and recently another friend told me about "Colombian Gold" also with BOEL origins. Anyone know something about it? I'm really curious about it

From what I’ve found on the web

Dramatised reconstructions.
The Acid House. On the trai of a drugs ring in rural Herefordshire, police had to scavenge among bin bags to gather clues. But forensic scientists turned the rubbish into enough evidence to convict five unlikely criminals who were manufacturing hundreds of thousands of LSD tabs in a remote cottage.

It was LSD, I know it too well for it to be anything else:)
The cottage was ironically called Lawless Cottage.
They were the ones doing the Globe design they got caught with about 38k of sheets and they def did the black Chinese dragon, I think all their prints were black or white... Operation Donna I think it was called..
The likes of Strawbs and ohms were done in Amsterdam to start with but the fella got busted in 90 and loads of people in Liverpool started knocking it out but not as well.
There was a pdf out the about all the different designs found in the UK and who they linked them with, I only got to do a few windows but they were good...

Thanks for the info medicine, I did a quick search for Operation Donna and found the pdf or report of what you mentioned. Makes a lot of sense to me now, especially as why some ( strawberries for example ) were so weak. Sounds like the “ Chemists “ would sell to a third party and whoever purchased the crystal would dilute and dip themselves. Greed gets in the way, bloody scouser’s, lol…..only joking, I’ve got absolutely nothing against Liverpudlian’s but you know, he he.
