Butter without decarbing weed first?

What happens if you make butter without decarbing the weed first?

(I want to make butter than I would just eat raw, without putting it into brownies or anything).

Confused cause some people say I have to decarb it first by putting it in oven for 30 minutes at 250F, then simmer it for 2-4 hrs on low heat in butter.

Some people say decarbing is not necessary.

I made butter and oil (olive or coconut) for years with no decarbing. Just in a crock pot on low for 6 hours or so. Seems to me heating the butter with cannabis decarbs anyway.
I used the butter or oil as is, or cooked in recipes. Got me high either way.

When you make the butter add water to the pot/butter mix. The temp will not get over 212*F as long as water is there. Stir for hot spots. After 4 hours at 212* the THCa is decarbed. i cook my butter at least that long, then after drawing it off the 'mash' and cooling overnight in the fridge, I do another melt with fresh water to further clean the butter. That adds decarb time.

I store the butter in the freezer. When I make cookies I cutoff 1/2 cup worth and heat it in a cup on the stovetop to melt the butter. When the THCa converts it releases tiny little CO2 bubbles. There are very few when the butter is melted - full decarb.

I'd say it's not necessary, but you get more bang for your buck if you do it. A mate and I recently made some brownies and cookies for a trip away where we couldn't smoke. He'd always made great edibles that knock your socks off and never decarbed his bud before hand, but I mentioned it to him this time as we were running a smaller amount, so we did it. The results were significantly better than the last batch, with most of the heavy smokers only able to handle a quarter a cookie/brownie where one was the general dose previously. I also felt the high was more complex and had a lot less lethargy associated with it than previous times I'd had edibles, but that also could just have been the strain used.

Some time ago Gry quoted some Hindu stuff about the bhang being better the longer it's cooked.

We don't decarb for our cookies and we note they get stronger with age. We're guessing the butter in the cookie mix dissolves out more and more thc as time passes.

I just use lots of water while cooking to take out the shit. Butter ends up just a bit more yellow greenish tint than when I am starting with it. Also, I don't decarb before because I decarb it while in the butter, I extract over 4 to 8 hours, guided by the decarb curve of temp over time.

decarb???? i throw weed in a crock pot - 1 oz of bud ,into the pot, 2 sticks of butter, water to cover the weed , cook for 6-8hrs, strain the shit thru a strainer , into the fridge overnite- next morn, drain the brown water, add hot water, mix, back into the fridge for the butter to harden- strain again, add hot water again - etc/etc - i drain/add hot water 3-4 times , till the water is clear- i add the butter and some lecitin to 1/2 box of brownie mix, couple of tablespoons of H2O , mix ,into the oven at 325 for about 18/20mins till a toothpick comes out clean, let cool... measure the dose on a gram scale.... enjoy... easy peezee

thanks, just curious, how did you decarb it?
Definitely looking for a non-lethargic high

To be honest I just googled how to decarb cannabis and followed the link that showed the temperature range compared to the extraction rate of active chemicals. It was something on the lower side and a slightly longer debcarb, think we did a total of 45 minutes with a bit of turning and fluffing of the chopped up bud, I can't recall the temp, but we do C here so was likely an Australian or European source. We also used pots straight on the burner, not a slow cooker, the whole process took about 4.5 hours. The plants we used were Malawai and a couple c99 crosses, which all have super up highs when smoked, so would make sense that their edible high was also up. It was also way up for me, who is a heavy cannabis user, but there were a couple people in bed by 6 pm that night that didn't wake up till about 9-10am the next day.

Edibles are a great sleep aid. I keep cookies on my nightstand, and if I wake I eat one and it's back to sleep. Some people just react to edibles by zonking out. Some may puke too.

There is delta-11 which may be made in the liver of somewhere, that is also supposed to be really strong.

the 1st time i ate one, i wasn't zonked... i was comatose ... lying in bed, parched throat, just wanting some H2O, i could not maneuver my hand to my nite-side table to pick up the bottle- if there was a fire , i would have been toast- could not move - not a nice feeling - since that time, it's smoking for me...

Last time i consumed thc oraly was a bullet proof coffee with estimated 2.5 g of sublimator reclaim. Took me about 4 days to feel 100% sober again. First day was intense but the rest was more like not beeing 100% back again. I could move and do my things but whenever i rested i got that feeling that i fuse with the surroundings. Nice if u just can chill in the sun but awful if u have to start moving again.

Do u feel sober in the morning after that?

Thanks Brother - those strains are great, definitely upper strains.

In your opinion, which way of ingesting gave you a funner, clearer high? Smoking or edibles? (Or what differences did you note between edibles and smoking, with those strains?)
