I like to make muiltible packets of the pollen I collect. When I want to use some, I just grab one packet instead of all of it. One time use packets are handy.

Sounds good :good: I have another 16 strains to collect pollen from yet and I might make more from the elite strains
I was quite surprised how much pollen I got.
Opened one of these G13 Widow viles today and pollinated one little bud on a Royal Gorilla with a Q-tip. I threw away most of it but
I waited about 4 hours (hope it was long enough) then sprayed the bud and surrounding area with water so it doesn't keep on pollinating once back in the main grow room
I'm really just doing some testing at this point to see if I've done it right. It's not a cross I'm too concerned about :)

The weekly update :)
Weather is cooling down to a nice 20°c high which is just how I like it!

The main room is coming along well with some nice smells coming from the Royal Gorilla
There will be a few extra seeds from the G13 Widow females from when my wife took the fan from the pollen tent and used it to cool down the grow room :D
You can see the results in the pics

3 x Golfballs on the left that haven't yet started to flower

The tall one at the rear is a Royal Gorilla and the remaining 4 budded plants are G13 Widow

Here are some bud closeups. The first 2 are G13W then 4x Royal Gorilla. Some pics with the flash for better effect :)

In the 1200x1200 tent are
2x Mango Chutney. The larger plants from clone
2x French Macaron at 25 days
and 4x Golfballs. Recently rooted clones I planted in the pots yesterday

The main room is smelling sweet and earthy from the Royal Gorilla (with the gold tag) and 4x G13 Widows starting to show some decent buds surrounding it

Things are looking a little more interesting in the main area
I love it when the buds start to mature
Golfballs on the left and G13 Widows and the lone Royal Gorilla on the right
MainRoom.jpg

The Golfballs are starting to form little buds
Golfball.jpg

We're getting some chunky monkeys with the G13 Widow and the Royal Gorilla outlined. Still no amber trichomes so they have a way to go yet. The RG is giving off a beautiful, strong, sweet sage smell :D

Here's a few close up bud shots because bud shots are cool :)

Rocket fuels have been switched to the 12/12 cycle for breeding. Not too worried about the height or yield for the next year or so as I will be collecting seeds and pollen
RocketFuel.jpg

The French Macarons are ready to switch soon too

The Mango Chutneys are just starting to get small buds

Thanks for lookin' in

Another week has gone by
The main room needs to make a little space for the Mango Chutneys so I will cull a couple of the G13 Widows that are too short to really get to the good light. Partially because they caught some pollen and matured early. No doubt there will be a few seeds in there but that's all good :)
Main.jpg

The Golfballs have started to mature more and have had a hard life due to being close to the fans in the air-pots and drying out faster than the rest. I will rearrange them today.
Goldball.jpg

The G13Widows and Royal Gorilla are still maturing well but still no amber trichomes. Hover over the images for the descriptions

And the obligatory bud shots :)

These 2 on the right are coming out today

The MCs are getting too tall for this tent and moving to the larger area today
MangoChutney.jpg

The Rocket Fuels at the front aren't showing sex yet and neither are the 2 French Macarons at the rear
Once the RFs get a bit more mature I'll select the breeders and repot the females that will fatten up for buds
I've made a new organic mix that includes blood, bone and kelp so maybe that will stop the leaves yellowing...

Bit of an update
Have moved the Mango Chutneys (left) in with the big girls to finish off
I bought a light meter this week and I've realized the Spider Farmer lights are brighter than the Aglex so I'll have to use the Aglex for the early stages. I have had some good results with them in the bud cycle but I guess it can always be better :)

I hung 2 of the G13 Widows in the cupboard to dry. They smell of curried cat piss

I found where a mouse has been living when I moved the curtain at the far end. Little bugger has been stealing half joints and roaches for himself 🐀:bigeye:

In the main area the Royal Gorilla is taking forever to get amber trichomes and the buds are exploding with shoots
The G13 Widows are taking their time also
The Golfballs are coming along but the leaves are yellowing and falling off. I'm not overly concerned as it seems to let the light through and the buds still mature nicely but I'd like to know what's causing it. The Mango Chutneys on the left are doing the same thing

That's quite the pollen harvesting tek. Please let us know how it works.
I harvested the Royal Gorilla and picked the seeds from the little bud pollinated with the G13 Widow
They are pretty small but look viable and it shows the pollen has a spring in it's step :)
Could be a good cross. I might even plant a few....once I use the other 90 strains in the fridge :p

I'm still finding my feet with organic growing but I'm getting there slowly

The Mango Chutney has gone from delicious to a rancid fruit smell in the last few days. It was that bad I was looking around to see where it was coming from before I realized :p
I didn't get that smell last time so I hope it's a good thing
I've read other people describing some pretty strong strains that way so fingers crossed :)

I purchased a PPFD light meter and found I was deficient in my two main bud areas
I spread the 2 spider farmer lights out in the main area and placed an old 4 LED light between them which is surprisingly more powerful by about 200 meaning I could place it higher for a good spread
My Aglex 240w lights have grown some good buds but their output is only recommended for the veg cycle, which they do very well
I am still learning the basics but I am enjoying the journey :)
There is a minimum of training for now as I'm letting the plants do their own thing naturally

As more buds mature the main area is alive with beautiful aromas again, mainly from the Mango Chutney on the left, which may need support soon
The French Macarons in the center are starting to look interesting also
Meanwhile the Golfballs on the right are getting closer to maturity but are fairly average this round due to my ignorance of their requirements when organic growing
Blood and bone and some organic natural sulfate of potash has be introduced to the medium for the next round which is further down the page and looking FAR superior

Those Mango Chutneys are filling out nicely bro. Must admit i have been enjoying dropping in on your grow show. Doing well :gday:
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate the interest (y)
When I open the curtains (I use blackout curtains with the white liner) all I can smell is the Mango Chutneys. They have a strong, sweet pineapple smell. Very nice
