I give you Yucatan red '73. I got a pack of Congo Black and they sent me early seventies Mexican seeds instead. Love the high off this strain. I smoked only Mexican early and mid 70's and this reminds me of some of the better lines. The smoke and taste is the same for sure. The high is in line with them but a little cleaner on the comedown. The way they kept pot back then was not very good, so degraded the effects with cannabinoid breakdown from heat, air.

It was from The Landrace Team. Got the Ugandan also but do not know if any of the seeds or sprouts will make it. On the other hand, I got 14 out of 20 Highland Guerrero seeds to make good sprouts that will survive. Same exact handling of seeds. 6 of 10 of the new pack of Congo are growing. Tried to make a clone of the plant in pic but it did not take.

You know it was me about that era back then is I had some relatives that would get that Mexican and it was a lot of times be bricked up right by the time we get to the middle of that brick it was like a Malawi cob cure my God I swear to God if somebody hadn't been part of the first part of the brick they try the middle and they be like where are you getting that s*** from

Very interesting about the middle of a brick. The stories I always hear are about finding seeds in the middle, dead animals and other things you would not want to smoke. I am afraid to cob anything, not sure why.

Another reason the middle might be better would be it was protected from air and maybe not as compacted or crushed as the outer layer.

Yesum, what is the scoop with this Landrace Team? Are they in Europe? There is no info on their site...what other strains have you tried? The Mexican isn't listed....

That was the Congo Black I grew, there is no Yucatan Red. The company is in Greece. It might as well be good Mexican from early seventies though. The seeds of this strain are tiny, I do not remember a Mexican line with tiny seeds from back then. Guess it is not related but a happy accident of effects, flavor and scent being very similar.

Guanajuato is in Central México, far from Guatemala.

The Guatemalan pot came from a guy named Louis that comes up here during the summertime and grows Guatemalan genetics he's in Guatemala right now I don't have any way of communicating with him except for Facebook and the last time I talked to him he said he was having family troubles so I can't speak I can't speak for that I could I gave you asked you asked where the first blood came from I told you

I'm trying. I got some Acapulco Gold gifted to me by a sweet friend of mine he comes in and out curious if I could have you guys helped me figure out where to look to grab some seeds that may I mean I don't mind buying 20 or 30 or 40 of them just so I can find a keeper in that phenotype and try to get it activated to Northern New England over the course of maybe a decade if I still live that long
