I just realize a need to compromise while living in the reality of what is.
Some do think they can shame the capitalists into submission. Social programs are passed with hopes that capitalism will do the right thing. Access to money collected through taxes becomes a free for all for greedy and corrupted to benefit from. Everybody goes home patting themselves on the back while progressive social programs get a black eye.
You’re talking economic systems. Pick one and make it work. It matters little. Controlling greed is the key. It’s the same people that are going to do their best to screw you no matter what. Those such as Bill Clinton who’ll sell out progression for a fling in the Oval Office. I actually like Bernie. I don’t think he’ll ever have the support he needs. Not enough people agree with him. the government isn't trying to eradicate private ownership of businesses. even by the standards of the people you think are commies.... obama for instance cut over 600,000 government/public sector jobs and created over 7 million new private sector (capitalist) jobs when he was president. obama also did a republican health care plan that forces you to buy health insurance from the private market. if obama and the democrats were "commies" they would have done something more like the NHS or a Medicare for All system, not force you to buy something from a capitalist marketplace lol.
