Strange anxiety experience cannabis during covid

So I tested positive for Covid earlier this week, probably should have stopped smoking due to that but my case is very mild so I did not. Maybe on my 4th or 5th day in, which was two days ago I had a little rip off a pipe after work and I got really spaced out and uncomfortable.

I am susceptible to weed induced anxiety and this was a little like that. Felt onset of sensory overload and a bit of depersonilzation all at once. Almost like the onset of a trip coming on anxious. I'll desribe it as a major head (perception) change with kind of hyper awareness, alertness, and slight visual field distortion. I managed to work through it without a panic attack or anything though even two days later I still have this fragile head feeling, as in state of mind, and light head pressure. Needless to say I'll be taking a little break as there is no need to further test those waters until things feel back to normal.

Sometimes I wonder if my brain is a bit messed up.

Just wondering if the Covid has anything to do with it and if there were other anecdotal reports of anyone having unusually mind bending cannabis sensations from smoking while fighting off the virus?

When I had covid I was scared the stuff was going to kill me, because I got it when it was still new. Don't worry what you are feeling is normal and taking a few vapes may help or may not help. I felt like taking a few vapes helped me rest better but it also caused a little more anxiety. I still did it, but you may want to limit use until you feel a little better. Its not a killer to all people, but it can be to some blood types and with other underlying symptoms. You making this post is a good sign, and you will recover by the end of next week. Drink water and rest friend. 😎

My last go around with it was around last August. The only thing it did to me involving weed was make it smell and taste like horribly rotten cabbage to me. It was the last thing I lost smell/taste of and the first smell/taste that returned. Rotten freaking cabbage… and weed was the only thing that calmed the insane body aches of that round so I just embraced my Irish genes and ate the cabbage up.

First go around though… before they had even started with the media push and all the info… holy crap that first bout hammered me good hurt my chest so much I couldn’t smoke at all. Lungs were fire jelly feeling. About halfway through my body aches overpowered the lung pain and I smoked a little.
It was extremely odd and dissociative for me a few times. Mentally it didn’t feel like being high at all, more like being on the edge of another personality instead. But it stopped my body aches dead and the next day the fire jelly feeling in my lungs was gone so I ripped another bowl. Same feeling just not as strong, and same relief from the muscle crushing.
I’ve never had weed feel mentally the same before or since then.
