If the plants grew like the pic above in Thailand I’d imagine they would grow extrembly well in the Northern NSW microclimate

Hi Todd i was told you only met Nevil for an hour at an event and in 94 Nevil no longer owned the Castle but i dont seek to pull the scab off that wound to be honest.


So the pictures of the seeded flowers you posted are not from seed Sam gave you but from plants you made from the seed Sam gave you so inbreed Haze.

I heard a few theory's one was the Thai being the ancestor also the other was the Thai x Colombian and the Old Mother sativa being the Colombian part.


Then i heard that Burning Bush was a parent.


One day i will get to ask one of the guys that were up there from 78 to 84/45 what the ancestry of the MM was.


But in all honesty the MM smoked like the strongest Haze if i had the old MM and the Mango Heads and a good Maui sativa and a Thai i would wont no other strains.

That's very similar to my theory.
I think what we're calling MM, (for me personally anyway), was the stuff that was around before the big busts of 76, it probably came from Thailand or Vietnam. No hybrid, probably pure like you said, stuff brought back at the end of the Vietnam war by guys returning from something that fucked some of em up forever!


Thai sticks were later in the 70's and syndicate controlled.
MM never had those connections, but not saying that it couldn't have come from that source, it probably did as well.


It did adapt really well to the environment it was grown in, hence the name.
It was an exceptionally strong smoke, and I think there were particular phenotypes, probably expressed through environmental conditions that produced the trippy high.

Because we were not in the Mullum area we didn't think we should call it MM, it ended up usually getting called NQ Bud!

When I slept there it was when the Dronkers owned it, as I did not arrive in Holland until 1994, we were also visiting with Alan. As for meeting Nevil once, that is just not at all true. I first met him during the cup in 94 when I was with Jack Herer and I was a nobody, then again around the cup in 95, and was able to hang out with him one on one more than once in 96 when I lived there. May he rest in peace.

There are a lot of photos on my ig, but the photos of original Haze are seeds from Sam, not seeds that I have made. I have only outcrossed with the original Haze seeds that I got from him until now.

I have posted photos of Nevil's Haze crossed with original Haze, but they are always captioned correctly as ON Haze.

What people are seeing as big buds are just fully seeded and I think that many people do not know the visual difference between a finished sinsemilla bud and a heavily seeded flower on a rather old plant.

Hi Todd i became a close friend with Nevil and a close friend of Nevil reached out to me after his passing said you did met at an event so that must of been the cup.


Question for you Todd what did you see when you inbreed Haze and produced the next generation that are now in seed.

Frankincense comes from the hazeC side....I keep telling the guy this...it seem to lean more lumbo...buy for some stange reson he keeps saying its from hazeA....I bet he cant even name a time an place he ever got a hazeA hybrid to compare..

Hi Dark you do get Thai lines that have a incense smell when smoked but what few talk about or bring up is so did old school skunk again it had a unique smell.

@hempy or Wally...what about PNG? I would imagine that a killer variety from there would have made it's way into the available Aussie genepool...and maybe into MM, no? It's so close to Australia...and there is some really good herb that used to come outta PNG from what I understand. I've got my hands on some seed out of Port Moresby I'll be giving a try this season...maybe I'll get lucky and find a good one.


BTW, hempy...I don't remember skunk smelling like incense when burned...Then again, I only grew up smoking it pretty much daily (when it was in season), so what do I know?

Incense in some thais yes you do hempy......the mullum seemed to match the more darker side of nevils haze...like a touch of lumbo more thai.....the old school skunk we got here hempy first used to just reak...bad...I know people who used to have to drive about with it wrapped up over an over an then put it in 2 different size of those big air tight empty round bucket things they use for 10ltr mayonnaise or 10ltr paint..we stil have the cheese here wich is the same thing...only darker abit more earthy were the skunk was abit more spicy...but thers no denying if you smoke them side by side ther sisters.

Hey thanks for posting up pics and info.
Can you describe the flavour, smell and High for us

This is very subjective.

To me, fresh, it always smells like Lantana, but that could be a carry over scent due to the fact that outdoors we often used Lantana as a screen. Some times we'd get a green Mango scent too.

Taste, hard for me to describe. Unique, exotic (not helpful I know).....it could take your breath away.

Extremely strong cerebral high. You could get lost in the rhythm of random sounds as much as music, things would look surreal! You could get really talkative, and really hungry! It could induce paranoia quite easily too.

Peak 10 /15 minutes after inhaling, lasting up to 3 or 4 hours before gentle come down. The more you smoke the more it wrecks you....just leaves a silly grin on your face!
