i've used SMC and I think its a good preventative spray, but for heavy infestations like what I had this past summer....its just not strong enough to get rid of them all. I did multiple sprayings over the course of a month and even though it did drop their numbers significantly, it didn't seem to completely eliminate them from my flower box (which is perpetual btw)
A buddy bought a thing of avid and stirrup, sent me a little vial of each, and within 2 sprayings every mite and egg have been eliminated. And I still have a good 2 applications left since it only takes a couple drops per liter of each.
Its probably the least organic mite eradicator out there, but you only need one or two aplications and then you can spray down your plants with water to rinse any leftover off.
I like to mist my cuttings with the SMC as a preventative measure right before they go into the dome to root. It helps w/ the rooting process and leaves them looking glossy and healthy once rooted.
